I booked the barber D2 in January for myself and my son. He couldn't see me at the time I booked because he had to go get his car. I scheduled a morning appointment and he asked me to reschedule for 8pm that evening. I couldn't do that so we rescheduled for the next day. I was getting ready to go to the shop when D2 asked me to come now and told me he only had one spot available. I live 30 mins away and I couldn't do that so I just asked for a refund which he said would come 7-10 business days. It's been almost 3 weeks. I messaged him asking about it; I didn't receive an email or update on the refund. He was very unprofessional with his response as he told me he was doing me a favor for cutting my son when I paid him for a service I did not receive. I purchased hair from Bundles by Renz mid December for $410.00 and got it installed late December. Hair immediately out of the packaging had a really fishy odor. Closure very hard to bleach. After washing and conditioning hair fish smell was still there. Hair sheds A LOT! Hair tangles A LOT! Ends of the hair are very nappy! Hair does not hold a curl or it's pattern. The hair is Amazon quality. I contacted Bundles by Renz on the day of install no reply. I resent the message a few days later still no reply. I wrote under a picture on the Instagram page asking to be contacted no reply and the message was immediately deleted. I wrote the same message under another picture the next day and the same thing the message was deleted. So not only is the hair trash the customer service is trash. read more

The hair was wonderful no complaints on the product whatsoever. The shop was very clean and cute! I love that there's a physical location for bundles. However the employee that runs the bundle side of the shop "stepped out" and I have waited at the door now from 1:04pm-1:20pm. The woman still hasn't returned. I'm in such a major rush and need to be in silver spring an hour away atp. (She eventually arrived and now I understand. They run the shop but the shop runners are also the stylist. ***PSA*** This review is not meant for Salon Renz as a whole but the service I received from one of the stylist. The salon itself was clean and noise level wasn't too much. Matter fact everyone was very quiet my first visit. I booked an appointment with Erica 2-3weeks in advance for my son to get his hair washed and new growth re-twisted. This was his 3rd appointment with her... first time in another local salon the second and latter at Salon Renz. The first two visits weren't bad but this third one left a salty experience that made me look for another dreadlock stylist. The appointment that was made, well in advance was set for Sat before Easter. The night before after 11pm I received a text that she had to reschedule, which was fine though it was last minute but we made it for Sun morning... 9am. Sunday morning comes and the stylist is not at the shop and when calling to check she forgot about the appointment and stated to be there 15-20mins. 45mins later she arrives and I drop my son off and get a text that he is finished about an hour later. This is where the saltiness comes into play... shit happens and I was ok with the changes but the fact that she forgot the appointment, was late, did not say a word to me... not even an apology for being late and having me pay full price did it for me. I'm big on professionalism and it was all out the window with Erica that day. read more

I loved my service and my Stylist Cortia she is a youngin but baby girl got my bundles all the way together. I went back for a maintenance and she was just as sweet and professional as could be. I'm letting my hair breath but best believe I'm going back in a couple of weeks. I never tried a frontal and she talked me into getting one for the next style. My baby girl has been going to Terriya for just about a year. Her hair has been doing so much better! Terriya has gifted hands and a niche for kids. Her braiding techniques are awesome and I'm finally going to have her hands bless me in about a week. I travel 45 minutes just for her because she's good and above all - she never has me waiting, she doesn't overbook herself which is my number 1 pet peeve - so for that - she has customers for life!! read more

I'm a very sympathetic and understanding person when it comes to services done by small and medium size businesses. But when I paid a deposit to get my hair cut to D2cutz, only for him to cancel my appointment and never follow up, I knew I'd never visit again. I don't recommend using D2cutz services and you all have been warned. read more

This is an honest review about the stylist JKSTYLES on instagram aka Jasmine Kelly at SalonRenz. Attn: THIS REALLY HAPPENED. My daughter booked an appt. with Jasmine for her prom. A $75 deposit was required, no problem but wait she had to sit for three hours before they started her hair. Then my young, impressionable daughter told me that Jasmine stated that she use to be a stripper and it was lit. Next, she did not deduct the $75 deposit from the total she charged my daughter for lace front her wig installation. She overpaid Jasmine by $75 and then after Jasmine got pretty much a $75 tip from us she had the audacity to tell another young lady that she did not like my daughter's wig. Next time we will be sure to buy a more expensive wig and look for someone cheaper to install it. read more

I've tried quite a few stylist. 2nd the customer service is wonder. 3rd she's so down to . 4th she is so humble most stylist act like bcuz they are good at what they do you need them. From what I could tell, there's a lot of different stylist/barbers that rent areas in the salon. There's a lot behind the building for parking. There are shops in the basement, main floor and upstairs. I booked my appointment w/ Erica. I found her on instagram. I booked online through an app, then contacted her to get confirmation on the address. At that time I was advised there would be a $20 deposit to be paid and it would be credited towards my service. I was totally fine with this. I understand blocking out time and having then having a no show causes the stylist to lose money. I was able to pay the deposit via cash app. I would also like to point out that my appointment was in a SUNDAY. I was super thrilled to be able to get my hair done on a Sunday. When I arrived, the salon was busy, lively and music blaring, but I didn't mind. Erica is located upstairs on the top floor. I was a little nervous when I got to her area b/c it was packed and she looked like she was just starting on a head. All I could think was oh great, this foolishness. I'm going to be here all day. Erica told me to meet her downstairs at the wash bowl. I waited there a few mins before she arrived. She gave me a great wash and talked to me about what I wanted done. We then moved upstairs where she put me in a separate room and got started on me right away. I don't know what happened to the other lady, all I know is that I didn't have to wait. I've recently started my loc journey about 5 months ago. I had a stylist I was going to but anytime I showed her a style, she said she could do it, but my hair never turned out like the pic I showed her. Erica executed the style exactly as the pic. AND she was twice as fast as my previous stylist. AND cheaper. AND closer. I'm certain I'll be returning. I was washed, retwisted, styled, dried and out in less than 1.5 hrs. Thank you Erica!! I would also like to add the Erica apologized for how crowded the shop was and the loud music. She said that the shop was accommodating stylist/barbers from another shop that sustained damage due to a car driving through the shop. What a way to uplift and support our community! read more

I booked an appointment with Suzie, her name on IG is Suzieonhair. This is the second time I've booked with Suzie and she has had something come up the first time her boyfriend was in the hospital. I got to my appointment 30 mins early as I sat in the main shop, Suzie didn't tell me she was located in the back of the shop and the stylists in the front didn't know who she was as they have a high turnover. Mind you i took the day off of work to get my hair done. I called Suzie to see where she was as, she then informed me she was located in the back of the shop but can I come back tomorrow because her boyfriend was in the hospital. Judging by her IG Suzie need to stop having all these kids and keep her hair appointments. I will NEVER book with anyone at Salon Renz. Where do I begin... Meme, a Salon Renz stylist, looked like what I thought was amazing work with her frontals. I made an appointment for 10 am on a Saturday and she texted me at 9:30am to tell me she was "running a little bit behind". Then ask if I could come in at 11:30am. That is not a little bit behind! When I get there she is mad about a personal issue from the night before. Very unprofessional. I asked for her a protein treatment and she put a cheap conditioner in my hair. I am not fool and asked her when will she put the protein treatment in my hair. She pointed at the cheap conditioner bottle and said , "That is the protein treatment." No it was not. My hair was super dry after she watched the cheap conditioner/ fake protein out of my hair. She did not use a leave in conditioner before blow drying my hair (she probably did not have any) and she did not blow dry my hair well. She did was very unprepared . She did not have shampoo , protein or developed to bleach the knots of the wig I brought to be installed. Now here is the good part... her wig installments are terrible!!! She does not customize the wig at all!!!!! She just bleached the knots (and does not do it well) and cuts the lace. That is it! Please don't believe what you see on IG! Meme has terrible skin and a bad frontal in person. On a Saturday she only had 3 clients , RED FLAG! None of them had any style worth posting on IG , including me. After being service by a stylist at this salon for a year named meme it was the worst experience I ever had in my life . The first time she did my hair I had a 3:00 appointment left work hours later and she didn't start my hair until 7 pm . I dropped my bundles off that I purchased from the salon and she lied and said the color didn't lift which I know she only bleached it and never died it . It gets worst ! She burned my forehead with the flat irons and the mark is still there . I know I could have sued and still can but I knew I would die before she could even afford to pay me for it . The second time she did my hair I had a 2:00 appointment and was not seen until 7 . She consistently will take a walk in before servicing someone who has an appointment. Then she overbooks and rushes ! The third time I had a 9:00 appointment in the am and precisely said I need to be your first appointment because I have to leave town . She arrived 30 minutes late and instead of starting my hair she started washing and servicing someone else . To the fact I asked her just to do my makeup and to give me 4 cornrows so that I could go buy a wig because I didn't have time to wait there for hours as I normally do ! I took months off after that and didn't go to her for awhile because her professionalism and respect for people's time and money does not exist . In April I returned and she appeared to be doing better ! That went out the window . For my birthday she posted a unit (wig) on her hair page and I asked could I purchase it and paid 5 days in advance before my appointment 250 dollars . I get there and there's no unit !!!! Instead she gave me some bundles which looked nothing like what I paid for . I wanted curly hair which is why I paid for It in advance and still didn't it ! She was double booked as usual so she rushed and threw the frontal on my head which is why I took is out a few days later . Monday I booked an appointment for makeup I get to the shop the shop is closed I'm calling no answer and she text back hours later and says she was sleep can I come after work . Then text me and says the Uber prices are too expensive so basically she not coming at all ! And I had an important event to attend which inconvenienced me but when has she ever cared about that . Yesterday July 4th same thing ! Texting her calling her and she didn't come either . At this point I can not be affiliated with this horrible girl or this salon it's a mess !!!!!!! Don't go there !! People need to know what they are signing up for ! Everything cheap is definitely not good !! I'd rather pay double and get better service and be treated with respect read more

Love salon renz HATE the over priced bundles ..paid 395 for two bundles and a 360.. when first purchasing the bundles the texture was amazing after wearing them for a very short period of time they began to shed heavy!! Not only did they begin to shed but once they got wet the texture changed completely ..they now look and feel very synthetic I'm very disappointed !! read more

My personal experience at the Salon Renz 2 location was horrible. The atmosphere was very unprofessional. There were children running all over the Salon unattended. One of the male stylist had his two young boys in the salon and they were running around the entire time. As I was under the hair dryer and the two young boys were all over the floor and screaming at each other. The stylist completely ignores the bad behavior of his sons, while he cut his clients' hair. Not to mention, hair was all over the floor the entire salon needed to be cleaned. My experience at this salon on several occasions had been terrible. The only great thing about coming to this salon is my April stylist does a great job with my hair. But, I would like to the Salon management to enforce more rules for all the stylists. This salon needs a professional makeover. Talented stylists but they have poor customer service and professionalism. read more
