I loved my experience at Salon Twenty Two! I booked an appointment with Nicole, who me and my grandmother have been going to for ages. She is so sweet, and so talented! I have very long curly hair and hadn't gotten it cut or done in so long, and really wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do with my hair or at least how to articulate it. Nicole asked me a few questions to get a better idea of what I had in mind, and it was like magic! My hair is like new- healthy, with new layers, and with balayage/highlights! I would actually give this salon zero stars due to poor customer service. I witnessed my financee go between both salon locations be be treated in a highly unprofessional manner. She called the Pottstown location initially for an appointment but was told they were booked. Then she called the 2nd location and booked an appointment. 5 minutes later, the 2nd location calls back and informs her that they could not accommodate her with the requested services. Why couldn't you have stated that when she booked it??? The receptionist / bookers at both locations also need to pay more attention to what they are doing. I heard her restate the services she wanted 7 times in the span of 2 minutes!!! Let's get it together!!! You lost our business and will lose more in a competitive economy where we have a lot of options. read more

First time experience at Salon 22 and Spa. I was a little nervous to get my hair cut. New state, new salon and stylist. Confession time: it's been 3+ years since my last haircut. I'm about to be a mom of two and my long hair and split ends had to go. So right before the holiday, I booked an appointment with Steph. Upon arrival I was asked if I would like something to drink. I declined, but ultimately wish I had asked for some hot tea. They even offer beer and wine while you wait (obviously not for pregnant mamas). Steph came to talk with me about my hair goals while Abby gently washed my hair. Steph gave me the perfect cut! She even rinsed my hair and styled it like I normally would before I left. My new favorite joint to get my do done up proper. Noticed my gorgeous flowing locks were getting a little long and I needed to get something done about it. Usually, I hit a place by work. But today, I worked out of the home. So, I needed a place closer. Fortunately, being the social butterfly that I am, a friend told me to check this place out. It's only about 10 min. down the road and they were able to accommodate me on short notice. Now you have to realize something. I'm a bit fussy with who I let touch my head (either one...you guys are so dirty..) so I don't do change well. My usual joint offers me a beer upon arrival and treats me like a king while I'm getting my cut on. Guess what. They do the same here. After I declined the offer for a tasty beverage (which is rare if you know me) it was off to get my hair all washed up and clean. Next I was whisked off to the stylist chair where I got clippers on the sides, scissors on the top and a little texturing shears to complete the package. The stylist (Chris, highly recommended if you go) also trimmed up the unibrow for me which I've never had done (or offered for that matter). Another rinse, a quick style, and my sexy self was on my way. And, get this, WAAAY cheaper than what I am accustomed too. So, I got the exact same cut and style with exceptional service all for an incredibly reasonable price. Definitely getting my trims done here from now on. If you need a new do or are just looking for a new stylist way out here in the burbs, I would highly recommend giving this place a try. You won't be disappointed!! read more

And damn, did she knock it out of the park. My long, thick, wavy hair combined with my fear of hair scissors doesn't make me an easy client. I feel so bad for my daughter. She spent her savings to get her hair and well....got nothing out of it. The color was barely noticeable that day, she got balayage done. The cut, she wanted dramatic layers, layers weren't noticeable, and it was uneven. It has been a couple weeks and her heart is still broken....never again. They should have at least taken extra since it was a teenager that wanted to do something for herself, and was spending her own money. Ridiculous. This is by far the best local salon I've ever been to and i don't plan on ever going anywhere else. I find that most of the stylists who have cut my hair are very dedicated to doing the most thorough job possible. I love that they don't push product sales but rather let the results speak for themselves. The kids haircut specials every Friday are a unique service as well. So first things first: they gave me coffee, love them already. I went in around 10 for a first time appointment with Dani Mcguckin. My sister goes to her for everything from facials, to haircuts, to blue purple and green hair. I recently dyed my hair way too dark cherry brown, it was very nearly black at the bottom. I needed to get it lightened. Dani suggested the least damaging way and most cost effective would be to have two or so rounds of highlights. We decided on caramel for the hightlights. I let her know I had to be out the door by 12:15 so I didn't care if my hair was completely dry or not when I left as long as the color and cut was done. She got it all done within the time I needed her to, she was super pleasant and friendly and kind the entire time. She dried it partially so I could see the color I looked at it quickly then ran out the door. By the time I got to work it dried entirely, and I didn't like how light some of the highlights were. I was nervous to complain due to insane hair stylists in the past, but I called and let her know "hey so the highlight placement is perfect, most of them are the perfect color, a few on the side are a little too light im so sorry to complain! " and to my absolute surprise she said in an upbeat voice " oh no don't worry about it I'd be upset if you didn't say anything and had hair you weren't happy with for two months come on in after work and I'll take care of it!" And sure enough, I went in, she took 10 minutes and made it entirely perfect all with a smile on her face! She did such a good job with the cut as well, she added texture and made it healthy without sacrificing my precious long curly crazy hair! Everyone on staff is friendly and attentive, they all work together really well. There's a very great feeling with a lot of positive energy when you walk in. I have short funky hair and needed a cut, and after reading a lot of the reviews I thought this would be a good place to try and save myself a trip to the city. Bad idea.This is probably a good place to go if you have long hair that isn't hard to cut. The stylist was not innovative nor did she seem to know anything about cutting short women's hair. I like it when stylists are confident in their craft and don't have to be walked through a hair cut. Long story short it took her 20 minutes to do my hair from shampoo to the finished product. My sides are uneven and from the looks of it the back is uneven too. She even had me style my own hair w/ a horrible product. On top of that she wanted to charge me the price of a regular women's hair cut when all she did was use clippers on my sides and a few snips on the top of my head. If you're a soccer mom this place will probably suit you fine, but if you're young and want cool, trendy, creative hair this is NOT the salon to go to. read more

I am feeling a little conflicted about whether this should be a 5 star review or a 4. Let me start by saying I LOVE my new haircut and feel terrific. It's actually a few days after I got it cut and I really think it's fabulous. It's exactly what I asked for in terms of style, so the talent is definitely in this salon. My stylist's name was Heather, and she was sweet and fun. The front reception was also warm and welcoming; they gave me coffee while i was waiting to be taken back for my haircut. That's the 5 star aspect of this experience. The 4 star... there wasn't anything special going on here. No neck rub or hot towels or anything that sets the high class salon experience apart from the SuperCuts experience. I'm not a fussy person and I don't need these things, but I feel they should be included if I'm going to pay $50 for a haircut. That was my main concern, but as this is still a 5 star review, I guess you can see how much that means to me. Talent is everything, and I left feeling like I got exactly what I asked for. As for if I will return, I'm still deciding whether the PERFECT haircut is worth $50 to me. If price isn't as much of a factor for you, this is definitely the place to go for quality. My bridesmaids and I got my hair done here for my wedding (6 girls all together). I was here for a hair trial, hair trial did not go well. The makeup that was used gave me a rash, granted, I have very sensitive skin so it's probably me. I was told that prior to the wedding, my stylist (Carrie?) would do the hair on a mannequin and send me a picture. That did not happen. I was told that I'd get another stylist if I didn't like the picture. Since picture didn't happen, I didn't get a new stylist. While I did get the makeup done with my own makeup, I ended up redoing it when I got home when my mom's comment was that I should redo my makeup. It was exactly what I needed on my wedding day, 1/2 an hr before the groom's party came. Lucky for this place, I had already mentally prepared myself for things to go wrong. My hair looked bad, it didn't hold for the whole day etc. Maybe a regular cut would have been a better experience. By the way, they make you pay 50% deposit via a gift card when you book the place. I live very far away and was only back in PA one time before the wedding so I just thought, what's the worst that could happen. The staff was very friendly and the salon itself is a beautiful space. I did not have to wait for my stylist and she was one of the best hair stylists I have ever gone to. She was so thorough and asked lots of questions about how I like my hair, how I wear my hair normally, what length I am comfortable with and if I was satisfied after she was done. I was my hair looks amazing, I agree with a previous post that if you want a good hair style then go to Ashley. She is the best. The service I received from Sara at Salon Twenty Two was 5 star from start to finish! First she listened to my concerns with my hair. I have very fine hair, and a stylist from a different salon sheared it and left me with hardly any hair on the right side and a ton of layers which are both horrible for those with fine hair... It was beyond upsetting, and it has taken me almost a year to get my hair almost fully grown back. Sara came up with a solution to cut out the damaged hair and gave me the most amazing, angled bob. It is by far the best cut I have ever gotten, and I have so many people giving me compliments and asking where I had my hair done. Sara also did a fabulous job with my highlights. I always LOVE going here to get my hair cut and colored! Everyone is so friendly and there has NEVER, and I mean ABSOLUTELY NEVER, been a single time that I left the salon disappointed or unhappy! My favorite hair stylist there is Jan. Half the time I don't even really know what I want to do cut or color wise and I'll tell her certain things that i need, like it needs to be super short in the back, easy to style, and of course, I want it to be funky, sexy, and amazing. The same goes for color and I have NEVER EVER EVER been disappointed or left with a plain boring cut and color. And everyone there is so nice they make you feel right at home. My sister used to be a hair stylist, and she USED to be the ONLY person that I would let touch my hair but now I only want go to Salon Twenty Two and have Jan take care of me and my hair. I absolutely love them there and would completely recommend ANYONE who is looking for or in need of an amazing new salon to try them out! They really do go above and beyond to make sure that all of their clients are comfortable, happy, and leave the salon looking and feeling totally AMAZING! Throughout the years my hair length has varied from pixie cut short to mid back long and I have been a red head, blond, and brunette. I went to two different "stylist's"; one for color and the other for cut and neither were good. I have straight hair with bangs and she couldn't even cut the bangs properly. For the color, I asked to stay more blond, however I came out brown !! I would give a 1.5 if I could. The decor was nice, the staff was friendly, and my color was ok. Don't get there early if you have the first appointment of the day. I had an appointment at noon and got there at 11:45, the door was locked and there were employees there that had keys, but not security code. Not sure what the deal was with but not a huge deal to me. I had a groupon for full highlights, cut, and style. The cut and style were really disappointing, probably the worst I've ever had. I have fine, limp hair that is pretty long. I usually get layers and blonde highlights done twice a year. After washing my hair, she asked how much of the length I wanted to take off, I said "Take off how much is necessary, but I want to keep it somewhat long." She did a trim cut and then grabbed for the blowdryer. I was somewhat surprised and said I was thinking about doing bangs and having layers. She cut some terrible bangs and then proceeded to blow dry my trimmed hair. No layers were cut into my hair. She didnt even use any products in my hair. I have NEVER in my 20+ years of getting haircuts ever had a stylist do my hair without putting mousse in it. She didn't even round brush while blowdrying it, she used a dinky little vented paddle brush, so I had flat to my head non layered hair with weird blunt cut bangs. Even I know to cut my bangs vertically so they look more "natural". The color again was fine, but honestly any beauty school student could do my highlights (going from dark blonde to light blonde, I tell them it takes 15 minutes to process, it's super easy). Really disappointing, I don't know if it was because of the groupon that I got sub par service, but it was a Supercuts or Walmart child special cut. I actually called a former hairstylist to see if she can fit me in for a "emergency" cut. read more
