For example, when I first called, I was told I was the number three caller. I waited quite a while, and when my call was finally picked up, I was transferred to voicemail, which seemed strange after waiting on hold for so long. I eventually reached someone and scheduled an appointment. A couple of days before the appointment, however, I was notified that the provider would not be there and that I needed to reschedule. I wasn't given an extension or direct number for the person who called me, just the main number. When I called back, I again waited on hold and was eventually transferred to voicemail. Someone later returned my call and left a message, and the same process started over again. After a couple more cycles of missed calls, waiting on hold, and being sent to voicemail, I finally gave up and decided to find another dermatology practice. I can't comment on the quality of the medical care because I never got that far, but the communication and scheduling process made it unnecessarily difficult to become a patient.

I've showered multiple times (using different soaps) and the smell has still lingered, which made it really difficult to enjoy the result. I was also not happy with the final color. On my skin tone it developed more orange than bronzed/tan, which isn't the look I usually get from a spray tan. I truly appreciate how lovely the staff and overall service were, but because of the formula and the end result, I personally wouldn't return for another spray tan.

I rarely write reviews and have done so for only the most exceptional service/work. I wanted to take this opportunity to commend Deb Hoffman at Visage Salon for the truly remarkable color work she did on my hair. I have naturally black hair that is incredibly pigmented. In the past, when I colored my hair, it always ended up reddish/brassy. I decided to give it one more shot, as wanted highlights to help camouflage greys. I spoke candidly and openly to Deb about my concerns and instead of just telling me that it would be ok...she took the extra step and educated me about hair color. She was open and honest. She took me through all the steps and reasons why she thought her approach would work to achieve the cooler ash brown color I wanted, instead of the reddish brassy brown I always got. She even took the time to explain why my hair likely always ended up looking orangey brown. After this, I decided to trust her and I'm am so happy I did! She was able to give me the brown highlights I always wanted (and never was able to get) - the result was a true ash brown with NO red/orange tones whatsoever. Deb is truly an artist who really knows her craft. She has true vision but worked with me to achieve what I wanted. I have never been more impressed with a stylist and her expertise just blew me away! I was in awe watching her work, mix ingredients/colors and create. The end result is beautiful. I absolutely love how my hair color turned out. Deb really helped me feel more confident and I felt like a million bucks walking out the door (she also gave me a such great haircut)! I highly recommend seeing Deb for hair styling. She is an expert in color, highly knowledgeable, creative and a true artist. Salon Visage is truly one of the worst salons in NJ, all of these reviews are most likely written by the people that work there. Recently Michelle cut my hair into a straight mullet, it is so bad the only thing i can do is pin it all back and wear a headband. My hair was past my shoulders and is now up to my ears in the front. Not even feeling bad about it, she laughed about it behind my back and let me leave the salon. After she was finished she PEELED the cape off of me, to find out there was white glue from the cape all over my jeans/top. When I returned the next day for some compensation for my clothes at the very least, the owner (you know the old guy that looks like a woman) he said "man your hair is pretty f*ed up, I feel for ya, there isnt even anything you can do to it. you might wna consider getting some extensions..if we did them, i'd give you a little bit of a discount, but we dont sorry. oh and yeah your clothes, wow it must be nail glue or something..find the reciepts, i'll give them to my insurance company, if youre lucky theyll send you a couple of bucks." I had a "go to" place for over 20 years. When their ownership changed, so did the service. I needed someplace new, but was hesitant feeling like the "cheating on your hairdresser" scene from Seinfeld. I am not high maintenance and probably get color 4/5 times a year, but I like my hair to look good. Debbie from Salon Visage was recommended to me. I made my way up to the second floor to pleasantly find a sleek, comfortable oasis for all things hair! I needed someone to take charge and make recommendations. Debbie not only knows color, it's literally her passion. It's obvious she keeps current on new processes and techniques and she enthusiastically applies her skills and knowledge to client satisfaction. I was thrilled to find out that the Salon takes Sunday appointments too (except summer)!!!! Being busy with work and traveling a half hour to the salon, this was a game changer for me. Making appointments is easy and Debbie always goes out of her way to accommodate. The customer service and friendly staff is another plus. John was a lifesaver at Salon Visage!!! In the realm of self esteem, there are few moments so horrifying as choosing the WRONG color for DIY hair color. I am a natural redhead who has been covering grey for several years, but decided to try a new color when my "regular" color was sold out. BIG MISTAKE. My hair came out a "day glo" orangey red. Bozo the clown had nothing on me! I called first thing in the morning on a Saturday (of Prom weekend, talk about busy!!) and they fit me in! John took his time explaining what he was going to do (I had no idea how complicated corrective color is!) and then did a spectacular job fixing my hair color. It is a different color than my natural (which he prepared me for), but in the end, I like it BETTER than what I was doing on my own! (My husband enthusiastically agreed.) John also added in a couple of extras (a glaze and a trim) for free! His assistant was also wonderful and everyone treated me like gold. I walked out looking spectacular, and frankly had expected some tears in the process. (We all know how much our hair can affect our self esteem!) I couldn't have asked for anything better! I've had my best friend do my hair for the past 10 years of my life-- I only trusted her. And boy was I in trouble when she got pregnant. Where would I go? What do I say? I didn't even know what color treatment she was using for my highlights or how she was cutting my hair ( I have curly curly hair so I don't trust just anyone with my curly hair; you have to know it, understand it, so you can understand my apprehension). And secondly, I didn't want to go to some joe shmoe place, I wanted it to feel upscale and hip, like I was in the city (bc my best friend was in Brooklyn). Long story short, Salon Visage met all my wishes. I was blown away at the salon itself. Very NY like. Sophisticated. Modern. Trendy. Hip. John, my stylist, actually taught me about my hair and explained to ME what treatment I was getting for the past number of years, and really dug deep into what I typically do to my hair, "how do you typically part it". I had an amazing experience here!! It was my first time and I went for a shampoo, cut, blowout and deep conditioning from Groupon. I called to set my appointment and was able to get something same day! Everyone was so pleasant and friendly from the beginning to end. My stylist was Alexa and she was phenomenal. She trimmed my hair exactly as I asked while keeping my long layers. The blowout was beautiful and my hair looked so shiny and revived when I left. I walked around Westfield after and received 4 compliments within 15 minutes of how beautiful my hair looked!! I asked Alexa about products I should be using and she was very knowledgeable about what I needed and what type of hair I have. We also discussed added some color in my hair soon and she knows exactly how to give me the blonde balayage I want! Alexa has definitely gained a new client and I cannot wait to return! read more

Debbie is amazing! I go to her all the time. When I first starting going to her I would have pictures of what I wanted and she would recreate the looks perfectly. Since I have been going to her for about 2 years now, she suggests different looks and they all look great with my hair color/ texture. She really takes the time to get to know you and your hair. I get blow outs from her almost monthly and Debbie also does my Brazilian blowouts. Debbie always tries to accommodate me because I am a working mom with very little time to myself. The salon is always clean and the staff is very friendly. The ladies that work the front desk are really nice and never have an attitude. Whenever I make an appointment I get a text message reminder which is really nice and convenient. All around would recommend Debbie and Salon Visage to everyone! They are the best! read more

I've been coming to this place to get my hair colored for years. Olivia R posted a nasty review, but I think she was asking for the impossible. The hair they cut from your head is to test if the bleach is going to destroy your hair. You said your hair is like 4 or more colors, so it must be damaged. Evening out the color isn't necessarily a 1 day task if your hair has had significant damage. Dark hair is especially tricky. I'm just saying because I have really dark hair (nearly black) and I got mine bleached to get a balayage from dark blue to light blue. It took 8 hours but was totally worth it. Sure, if I was a blonde it would've taken far less time, but I'm not. And I wanted to do something drastic and FUN! I LOVE my new color! Wasn't sure it would be possible, but Carmen got the job done!!! read more

I have been going to Salon Visage ever since I could convince my mom to take me - I think my first visit was to get my hair done for 8th grade graduation. I have been going ever since (and my mom has been going since moving to the area in 1993). I've seen a variety of stylists over the years but most recently have been getting my hair cut and colored by John. He is fantastic and I now won't let anyone else near my hair! He is both an amazing colorist and stylist with a very keen eye and a great sense of style - I trust his opinion and I have never been unhappy with his work. I get so many compliments on my hair and I always tell them to go to Salon Visage and see John or any of the other wonderful stylists there. They are the best salon in the area, by far. DJ was great! Honestly one of the best salon experiences I've had! She answered all the questions that I had about keeping my hair healthy and gave me even more tips! She kept up a great conversation and made my experience worthwhile! In addition to that, my hair cut is pretty much exactly what I imagined it would be going in! I used a Groupon for a deep condition and hair cut and blow dry, and asked for layers and a face frame! She also recommended I get side bangs instead of making the face frame start a little higher, and it turned out amazing! I have been very impressed over the past 30 years how this business has adapted to change and yet still holds true to doing what the client asks for. I started going to Visage when I was 16 and loved them for listening to what I wanted, if I asked for an inch haircut I got an inch not 3 inches or a style that was not me. I now travel over 45 miles to come back to Visage every 2-3 months to get highlights, cut, color. They are helpful, easy to do business with and John (1 of the owners) is always willing to suggest new products to help my hair. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair and recommend anyone who wants a place to keep to make an appointment. read more

Monthly(ish) regular here! Where to begin. This must be the first salon where employees other than my hairdresser know my name. This is by far the most professional, friendly & clean salon I've ever been to! I've even turned some of my family members into regulars; including my 5 year old nephew! I noticed people complain about prices. Here's my response to that: If you don't want to shell out a bit more money for the amazing services they provide, go to Supercuts. I've been a loyal Salon Visage client for close to 20 years and cannot imagine going anywhere else. John has been taking care of my hair with skill and always keeps it looking great. His highlights/lowlights always make my hair look it's best, and I don't let anyone else come near my hair with a pair of scissors! It was the first for me in this salon. The place looks nice, clean and observed Covid 19 protocols. It's been so long since I went to the salon due to the pandemic and I was wanting to get my hair done professionally. I had hair color, highlights and hair cut done. I was so happy with the result. Have been coming to Alexa at Salon Visage a little over a year. She gives me the best cut, color, highlights and blow out. If you're looking for someone who has a great understanding of hair and listens to what you're looking to achieve you should come visit. There's never any pressure for unnecessary treatments or products but they're available if you're interested. My 22 year old daughter has been coming to Alexa as well and she was able to help her go from a blonde to a brunette beautifully. Lisa washed my hair and was very personable as well as the desk staff was. My cut was with Nikolina and it turned out very nice. I went In not being at all familiar with any of the stylists. Despite complaining to management multiple times and they resetting/setting. Do more research on anyone who touches your hair. 2. Salon needs to stop calling people who look young sweetheart. The haircut was trash and pray you have done better. 3. Increase communication between internal team and clients. Don't treat them like herding cows for money.

I was recently going to Blush in Cranford and working specifically with Diana. She was doing an…read moreamazing glaze on my hair and in conversation we had talked about extensions and how she put them in to grow at her bob. I also currently have a bob and was looking for a more fun way to grow it out. I ultimately decided to have the extensions put in. They were fine to begin with. The cut that she gave me was terrible, it was like I had a mullet, super heavy in the back and just about no hair on the sides, other than my own. It was impossible to style without it looking like I clearly had poorly installed extensions. I had to go back twice. One of the clips was sticking in my scalp behind my ear. She fixed it, then I had to go back again because the bottom track was coming completely undone. About a week and a half later the entire bottom row came completely out. I had to remove all the extensions myself because it just looked ridiculous. Almost $1000 between product, installation, glaze on the extensions (that didn't need it) and a cut and blowout. I messaged them to cancel future appointments and let them know what had happened. Of course they wanted me to come in to fix it, but at that point I had already taken them out and have a terrible taste in my mouth about the entire experience. At the very least, they should've offered me some money back for my troubles...they didn't. I definitely will not be going back and definitely will not be referring them to anyone.

I've been getting my blonde hair done for over 15 years so have been to tons of salons, seen many stylists, and have had every technique under the sun done to my hair during blonding sessions. When you've had this much experience getting hair done there are certain things you look for that really set apart some stylists from the rest. Two of the main things which I really appreciated from Gabby during my babylight session was that 1) she took out the beginning foils about halfway through her foiling [when you have thick hair or are getting lots of foils this is almost always a necessity to avoid over processing in the starting sections] and 2) she took me back to the chair to properly give my shadow root, during which she was super meticulous to leave out the money piece section until the end [lots of stylists will have you hover over the shampoo bowl uncomfortably while they slap the toner on]. It's little things like these that build my trust in a stylist and I VERY much appreciated. I'm picky and am usually one and done with most salons when trying somewhere new because I'll walk out with splotchy spots or overprocessed/overtoned hair [don't even get me started on my horror show of an appointment at Cranford's Hair Studio 924]. I can say I'm confident I found my forever hair home at Blush. Other things which didn't affect my hair specifically but made a great experience was that Gabby is also one cool chick. She wasn't overly chatty (bless these stylists for working and talking in masks all day) but just enough to be friendly and avoid too long of silence. The salon is adorable and could be pictured in an anthropologie magazine. Chalk it up to the quarantine rules [less people = more personal hair attention], relief of finally being rid of quarantine hair [I couldn't even look at myself in the mirror], but everything about my visit was wonderful and I left one very happy customer! My first time there, Nicole literally gave me a consultation.. for my nails. Completely unheard of. She asked what I like, what I don't like, shape preference, colors I gravitate towards, etc. It was so refreshing to be spoken to and asked questions rather than just plopped in a chair and out in 35 minutes like the previous place I was going to. Nicole is so detail oriented. She takes such time on my cuticles and paints so thoroughly that in 2 weeks, my nails barely look grown out. I love sitting and chatting with her and the other nail girl, Vicki. They make everyone feel welcome. I am SO happy and so grateful I found West Glam.
