She is extremely knowledgeable about hair coloring/styling and was able to address my needs, while taking into consideration my budget! She gave great suggestions and explained every step of the way. After months of searching for a stylist I could trust to get my hair the way I wanted I was hesitant to trust someone without having a personal reference. So I read the reviews and was pleased with what I was seeing and decided to go for a consultation. They assigned me to Ruby who assured me that she could get my hair to the color of blonde that I had been trying to achieve for the past 4 years (and countless stylists who all promised results to no avail). My hair seemed to change after menopause but Ruby was able to get it to a beautiful blonde color! It was a long appointment because she took the time to do it right! And the cut was perfect! Show them an inspiration photo and they'll give you exactly what you ask for. I would give it a zero if I could.i went to the stafford location to get color on my hair. Three different ppl did hair..I was there well over 3 hrs. I asked if my black hair could be lightened and was told it would be difficult but I should see Sam in the Fredericksburg location. I made the appt to see her a few weeks later. When I went in I had to wait for awhile to be seen. When I told her I wanted to lighten my black hair she looked less lhen thrilled and told me she didn't think it could be done. I said could you try. She reluctantly said yes and came back and applied product to a small area on my head. I was told to sit and shed check it. Not sure how long I sat but she came back later and looked and said...it didn't work. I said can we leave it on a little longer. She again didn't like that. She came back later and said...no. I was so frustrated. My hair was about 18 inches long. I said can we just cut it off and have it stacked in the back and angled on the sides. I hated the hair cut and all my hair was gone but I was sooo frustrated. A few month's later I found a stylist and told her what happened. She said you most definitely can go lighter. She did my hair in 2 hrs and it looks amazing. Shame on that place...they like to get you in...take your money said say but bye. read more

I got my hair colored and asked for something very simple. When I got home I noticed all the color lines all over and when I told the manager she told me the owner would call me but it's been a week and I haven't heard anything from any of them. The stylist was very nice but she was busy and even asked the assistant to finish my foils. Im very disappointed in the service I received and even more disappointed in the way the owner handles the business. I included photos for reference and also a photo of what I asked for and what I received. Update: the owner called me back after a week of waiting and didn't even offer a refund. She told me that the "assistant" was an apprentice and that it was common practice for them to "help" or "finish" with color applications. My frustration with this is that I'm paying the price for a master stylist, not an apprentice. I paid $375 for this service and my hair is so over processed it won't hold color and the lines are almost impossible to keep covered. I highly recommend finding a different salon with better business practices and stylist that won't accept this as their "best" work. read more

Their website states that single process hair color starts at $95. I got charged $195 for a single process on virgin hair. The color did not match my natural color (dark brown) and my haircut was shorter than I wanted and not what I asked for. I called the next day and was told the color would fade and they would try and fix my haircut. Long story short I paid another $195 (not including tip) to get it sorta fixed two months later. I still do not get why I was charge $100 more than the starting price for something simple. Let alone have them totally mess it up the first time. Receptionist never made note of my dissatisfaction from the first visit or let management know so when it was brought up that I wanted to dispute the charge I just got a lecture. Will not be returning here and neither are two of my friends that know my hair and how it was not done correctly. read more

The hairdresser was amazing but they were not upfront about how a new client 50.00 deposit is applied. I tried to talk to the manager but that got me no where except sorry you had a bad experience. It is so hard to find a good hairdresser and I was really happy with her but very unhappy with shady money side of it. I made an appointment a few weeks ago through Sarah at Salon Voss Stafford. I explained what I wanted and asked if their salon uses actual bleach to color hair since I went to several other area salons that did NOT use bleach. They do! Sarah offered me the option of two different stylists and told me the price point for each. I chose Ruby and she did a FANTASTIC job! First time visitors may need to provide a small deposit for their appointment that is applied to their service. When I arrived Sarah had me fill out a card to keep me up to date on sales. I was offered a selection of drinks and if I was hungry they would allow me to GrubHub. In these Covidian times they actively encourage everyone to mask up and use hand sanitizer. My hair color and style are exactly what I wanted. As she cut my hair, Ruby was friendly and personable and asked me if my hair was short enough and had me feel it to check if it was what *I* wanted. I was very reassured that she cared what color and style *I* was seeking. I highly recommend her services! read more

came in for full blonde highlights. the owners wouldn't allow my hair to be fixed after it was made DARKER. my hair lightened with the bleach great but then after the "toner" it went back to brown. Tom and Samantha banned me from all salons, after asking to get it fixed and stating how I didn't like it and was not what was told I'd be getting done. They were basically blaming it on me that my hair ended up darker lol they obviously need some help. Save yourselves from going here because if you get your hair done and it's not what was told, and you want it fixed they won't fix it and they'll ban you from the salon like they did to me. Had my hair done by Jess today and cannot express how grateful I am for her professionalism. After a four hour process and being styled I realized that what I asked for did not work as well on my hair as I expected. She noticed my unease and was very kind to offer to touch up areas I didn't like. I felt so bad for taking up even more time but Jess and other staff members made me feel so comfortable and were incredibly kind and understanding. Jess truly did not want me to leave unhappy and went above and beyond to make sure my concerns were met. I ended up staying for around six hours and the entire time I didn't feel rushed. I left incredibly happy with how my hair looks, the staff here at Salon Voss are miracle workers. When I walk in Salon Voss, it's like walking into a wonderland of pampering and beauty from my hair stylist, Laura, and the receptionists and all the assistants (especially Amber). Laura always consults with me as to my color before she starts and she is very meticulous as to applying the color. I really appreciate that. As for the salon, it is so very neat and clean. It's amazing. I love the videos they play on the screens on the wall. I haven't used the other services they offer like microblading eyebrows, et al, but I am considering it very soon. Very Good Experience! First, I'm a curly girl, who's been getting DevaCurl/Curly Girl dry cuts, for almost a decade. I was in desperate need of a cut, but I didn't have it in me to drive the 200 mile, round trip, to visit the salon where I'd been going. My coworker recommended Ruby for hair and brows. I needed a color touch-up, as well. Ruby did a fantastic job on my hair color and brows. She deferred me to another stylist named Omayra for my cut. I showed Omayra the cut I wanted, and let me tell you, she did an OUTSTANDING job. For a wet cut, she aced the style I wanted. I was so happy with my experience at Voss Salon. The salon itself is very clean and they have sanitizer for every customer when you walk in. My stylist Riley was really cool and made my hair look better than expected. She also recommended B3 treatment which left my super damaged hair feel 100x silkier. They have a lot of new colors so I'll be going back for that soon and would definitely recommend this salon to my friends in Stafford.
