I took my 8 year old to SmartStyle to get a cut and style. After washing my daughter's hair the…read morestylist told me it was going to be $18.95 additional to blow-dry her hair, stating "not everyone knows how to make hair straight with a blow-dryer". Thats odd, because I thought they taught everyone that in cosmetology school. I'm terrible at hair and can even do that, but whatever. I opted to forgo the blow dry. My daughter sat down in the chair and I was trying g to explain to the stylist what we wanted for a cut and she started arguing with me. What she was intent on doing was going to not be at all what I wanted, and would have ended up looking terrible on my daughter. I tried again to explain, but again she started to argue. I've had bad stylists before. I know when a haircut is about to be terrible. I told my daughter to hop out of the chair and I would take her to her stylist 60 miles away just to make sure her hair was cut properly. I asked to pay for the service provided (washing my daughter's hair) but the stylist just told us to leave and told us to have a nice day (in a condescending tone, no less), then said the same again as we were exiting. Now I'm on my way to Duluth, and will never again walk into SmartStyle.

Quaint fully stocked retail store full of pampering essentials. Oils, bath salts, bubble…read morebath,aeronautics and all the "necessary " accessories! Entering the newly remodeled historic building pleasant smells sweep you into instant relaxation. Friendly knowledgeable staff answered questions. No pressure to buy more then what we wanted. There appears to be a spa attached to the store but did not notice any signs or information about it. Looking st the receipt there appears to be a rewards program, but we were not told about it. If looking for the special gift or something for the bath they appear to have it.
