It really shouldn't be a difficult thing to find a good haircut, but it has been for me. I've tried quite a few places around and this has been the best cut I've had since moving back from Chicago! It's a cool-looking space and seems like a fun place to go with a couple pals to get your hair/nails done. Loren somehow fixed my uneven cut without making it look any shorter :) She also had a lot of great advice for hair care and color ideas. read more

Awful. Should never have went here on my wedding day. The earliest they would let me come in was 10 am. They booked a haircut with my stylist in between my hair and make up?!?! which delayed us getting to the ceremony on time. We were 30 Min late because of this place. That was lost time w my photographer. My maid of honor spoke w the owner about it while we were all sitting there waiting and she blew us off. I was very clear when I made the appointment 7 months prior, the amount of time I had. I was assured we would be taken care of....we weren't. They also made me pay for each style of hair/make up during my hair/make up trial...the stylist did not do what I requested and instead did what she wanted. My maid of honor also sent a letter to the owner about how awfully I/we were treated. She did not respond. Would not recommend. read more

Frustrating experience with front desk. My husband went in for his hair cut appointment but they claimed to have no record of it. Later they claimed to have called us about it, but there were no calls to either of our cell phones. Then I had an appointment for a cut and style but part way through they claimed it was just a wash and cut and couldn't do a style. We loved Barb but will be finding a new salon. read more

While the makeup artists at this salon are all three wonderful, I cannot recommend you give this place your business. I went on a Wednesday evening for a highlight/lowlight touch up and a cut. The cut looks fantastic. However, something that was used on my hair will NOT come out. I have very bad scent sensitivity. I informed my stylist of this and she seemed to be very caring about it. But she used a product another stylist at the salon later told me was very strong and should never be used on someone with a scent sensitivity. I called two days after my haircut after washing and clarifying my hair five times with no success at getting the smell out. The stylist I talked to had me come in and used a detox shampoo twice. She sent me home with more and seemed very willing to help me get the smell out of my hair. This was on a Friday evening (she even stayed late to help me) two days after my cut/color. On Monday after washing my hair another fifteen times in the detox shampoo and different remedies I received from other hairstylist friends (dawn dish soap, Apple cider vinegar, baking soda), I called the salon. I asked to speak to a manager and was treated quite rudely by the receptionist for saying I didn't want further suggestions because I had tried everything I was willing to try on my hair. It is now like straw because so much moisture was stripped out in my futile attempt to remove the smell this salon gave my hair. The owner, Amy, called me back and when I told her at this point I want my hair cut so the smell is not sitting right on my nose (I have had my hair in Bobby pins since the incident, so for a week and a half), she not only told me "we specifically chose our products because they wash right out," she also told me the products couldn't possibly do what I claim (in effect calling me a liar), but she refuses to cut my hair. She has not apologized for what happened. She denies that she has ever heard of this happening (though one of her stylists who has worked there for five years told me she's had the issue before); her products don't do that. I was told I would be unhappy if I cut my hair (isn't that my choice?), that all the stylist claimed she used on me was shampoo (this was not true), and that she would call the stylist and find out what else she used and give me that company's name so I could call them and ask them what to do (no offer to call them herself). She called me back and left a voicemail that informed me of the name and company of the product and gave me their customer service line. I left a voicemail on that line on Monday. It is now the following Sunday and I have heard nothing from them and no follow-up from the salon to see if I got any answer or if the smell is gone. Amy also told me I should call an allergist and ask them what to do because they know what to do to get the skunk smell out, like tomato paste. I'm not sure if she plans on paying for said allergist appointment but I doubt it. Still no apology and the voicemail ended with a rather sarcastic "good luck." At this point I don't know what else to do but leave a bad review. I have spent a bunch of money here buying makeup and decided it was a nice place and when I needed a haircut last minute they would be able to help me. Now I'm left feeling wronged, cheated, and belittled because I paid $105 for a haircut that is making me sick! The owner refuses to make it right and treated me like a liar. Do not waste your business on her. She doesn't deserve to profit from others if she will not provide excellent customer service for her extremely high priced product. I wish I could give zero stars and still leave a rating. read more
