I just had my 22nd surgery and in need of some TLC. I found salontodd.com online and sent a picture to have my color toned and if needed, ends trimmed. I was told to pay upfront to secure my appointment which I have not done before but did anyway. ($450.00) I was feeling confident after we went over my history and the goal of growing out my hair after losing my long hair from medication , and how traumatizing it was for me. He showed me some hair extensions and we agreed to do the color correction first and come back if that was the route I wanted to go in. I was just finally able to make a 2 inch ponytail. The color process didn't give the result we went for and he told me to come back in a week to change it. He then dried my hair and since my hair is curly, we discussed how no one should cut curly hair wet since it shrinks. He then "trimmed " it. I was told that my hair was in good condition and thought he was simply shaping or trimming the ends since we had spoken at length my goal of growing it out as curly hair is hard to style short. My appointment ran an hour over and I was 6 weeks post-op from a spinal fusion so the pain was definitely creeping up. When I was spun around and saw the sides were short and couldn't even be tucked behind my ears, I started to get anxious and I was wanting to just get out and go home. I never got to see the back of my hair and now I know why he never offered me a mirror. When I got in my car I was stunned. I went straight home and looked in the mirror to see that he had cut my hair so short that it was 1-2 inches! I can't describe the anger and pain that I felt. I spent that evening crying myself to sleep on the couch because I didn't want my husband to look at me. I have seen 4 Stylists only to be told that my hair is too short for extensions and will be for 6 months or more. No one can believe how bad both the color and cut are. I have been telling my story to as many people as I can in hopes that no one will have to go through the emotional trauma that I am because I went through losing my hair once and to have someone deliberately do this is beyond comprehension. If he knew what I go through everyday trying to find a hat or wig or strong enough hair products to keep my curly hair from standing up straight, he would hopefully listen to clients instead of talking over them in order to brag on himself. I thought when I saw how tiny his salon was, having one chair and having to go outside and back in another door to a public restroom while in a cape and hair foils, that he would be solely focused on his one and only client, but I was so wrong in so many ways to trust this person. I wish I could provide pictures so that there would be absolutely no way to rebut or defend himself. My physical pain has been terrible after surgery but my emotional pain has been the equivalent. read more

Worst hair experience ever! I was charged $425 !!!!! He made my hair red! I was trying to do a root touch up and he professed to be a color expert to take out brassiness. I got a red mess up. He had only a few tubes of color in his cabinets- I should have seen that as a sign. My cut was done dry and done in 10 min. And he took off way more than I asked. He was all upset when I said I didn't want to see grey- like I was asking too much. He tried to do baylage that was never done bc my head turned bright red- that he had to correct. Still charged me like he had a high end salon in nyc!!! He is in a studio suite and thinks he can charge 175 color. 175 baylage and 75 for a skimpy bad cut! Run from this guy! Nightmare! read more

Wow! just had the nerve to read the reply to my pervious review....I think he made my case for me...He is vindictive, self serving, awful man who can't take constructive criticism , and finds it necessary to TRY to make the the client look as bad as possible. I just got my hair cut after 3 months of letting it grow because I got such a BAD cut at Todds! The hair dresser was appalled at the cut I had and said he was at a salon where he worked and was fired within 2 weeks because he was so vulgar. I didn't even include that in my review but it is worth noting. If you dont want to hear the "F" work every 3rd word you dont want to go to this salon! Thats before he even works on you. Not sure why the direct attack on me. I was more than pleasant that day. Todd was very nice- I just found his manner off putting. I suppose my review could have been more objective....And I apologize about the fringe coat comment. It was uncalled for. However, I stand by my review that the service was overpriced and the result was poor (confirmed by other hairdressers who were appalled at the color). If you look at my reviews I rarely give 1 star so for me to do so must have had some just cause. Also surprised that the response was not "How can I make it better?" but a personal attack. My hair is orange today. I lost: $495 between paying for orange hair and the salon I went to for correction, the Athleta shirt I had worn once before Todd dripped something purple down the back of it even though I had on a gown and he said would wash right out (tried everything-it didn't), 7 1/2 hours of my time, and hair that wasn't super healthy to super damaged hair that will take months to correct. My neck and shoulders are sore from the most uncomfortable shampoo bowl ever. My entire scalp is sore from his rough treatment - pulling my hair for 3 hours. My favorite part: I told Todd how orange it was and I hated it and we made an appointment to try to fix it the next day and he texted me that morning saying he was sick and cancelled it.
