He came to my house and let me know what would be needed to get porch as good as new. Contract stated all rotted wood would be replaced and both porches would then be sanded primed and painted. Not only was the work not finished, the work that was done was sub par. Just a few months later, a lot of the paint has chipped off, boards have come lose and are coming apart. From the attached pictures you can see nothing was sanded or primed. I am not sure why the boards are already pulling up - but they are. The worst part is John Leith told me - "in writing" four times that he would come back and fix the issues: He was a "no show all our times" Below are his texts - From Oct 25 I will be back in the next couple days to take care of the stairs. Dec. 11 when boards pulled up For sure when the weather gets better. I'll send the guys back. No problem Leo. I'll stay in touch. Jan 28 No problem. He said he knew a business and called TJ's. Tony came out and evaluated the problem. It was worse than I thought, but Tony's estimate was extremely reasonable. After getting the permit from the village he came out and with his partner had the entire stack pipe and connecting plumbing torn out and replaced. Tony works very clean and was even very cognizant of the brand new carpeting we had just installed. The most impressive part was that they finished hours earlier then anticipated and right on budget. Tony was very professional, worked very clean, and stayed with his estimate. Any future plumbing work I will definitely call him first and so should anyone who reads this.

Then several months later, it happened again. My brother called a different plumber who came to fix the problem, for a few hundred dollars only. After some fairly extensive detective work, I found that this company was responsible for scattering debris all over Southport Ave. and leaving it there for Chicago motorists to run over. The debris was so large (metal) that it destroyed my tire, tearing it from the rim. Gerard Coyle, at first, seemed like he was going to do the right thing, but alas, he did not. He lied about sending a check to cover the tire replacement, and when pushed, stopped responding to my calls. (I received his number from the contractor as they knew it was his fault as well.) He was so close to doing the right thing, but made a different choice. I wouldn't trust this company with my business. Dishonesty probably permeates many facets of their business dealings.
