I came here after a long day at work. I got the Bangkok Tacos. They were "okay," I'm just not a fan of pineapples being incorporated with hot food but I let the bartender make the selection and didn't read the ingredients - so again, they were alright. I also got the guac and chips, and a margarita - which both were really good. I gave 3 stars because of the pineapples, but I will definitely give them another try and this time I WILL READ and make my own selection (lol)! Either way, EVERYONE (staff & customers) were really polite! I'll be back ( in my best Arnold Schwarzenegger voice)!

Stopped by Salt & Lime Cabo Grill as I've been on the hunt for good Mexican food in the Raleigh area. When you arrive there is parking in front of the restaurant as it's located in a shopping plaza. When you walk in you'll feel like you've been transported to a trendy, energetic, and coastal beach restaurant. There are also TVs at the bar if you are looking to watch sports. We checked in with the host and opted for a table. To start we ordered the queso (Smoky queso, pico de gallo, fresh cilantro) and added the smoky chorizo. The queso was very good and had a great smoky flavor with a little spice. You'll want to order an appetizer as chips are not complimentary. For drinks my partner ordered the strawberry mojito (Bacardi limon, mint, lime, soda, strawberry) which was good and on the sweeter side. I ordered the Desert Fire (Jalapeño infused lunazul, triple sec, chipotle simple syrup, lime, spicy rim) which was on the spicier side but was so good. For mains my partner ordered the Mahi Wrap (Blackened mahi, napa-romaine mix, fresh avocado, honey chipotle sauce, Caribbean salsa, grilled flour tortilla with seasoned fries) which had a nice balance of flavors. The fish was a bit overcooked but the seasoned fries and flavors made up for the dry fish. I ordered the surf & turf burrito (Grilled shrimp, marinated steak, queso rice, grilled onions, pico de gallo, queso fresco, baja crema, topped with habanero onions & arugula, cilantro served with black beans) topped with the tomato cream sauce. The sauce had a nice smoky flavor and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. As for the steak, kind of the same issue as the fish where it was overcooked/cooked well done. For dessert we ordered the Sugar churros (Whipped cream, caramel dipping sauce) which were served piping hot and they go perfectly with the dip. We ended up stirring the whipped cream and the caramel sauce together. I definitely would stop by salt & lime cabo grill for mexican food but would opt for just shrimp as the main meat vs mahi or steak. Looking forward to my next visit to salt & lime.

I paid a visit to Salt &Lime Cabo Grill on a busy Friday night with some friends who live nearby. Our reservation was made earlier, so we were seated quickly. Our server quickly took our drink orders and returned promptly to take appetizer orders. We ordered the Baja Trio that consisted of Guacamole, Queso, and Salsa. The trio was amazing and fresh and quite flavorful. I ordered the Beef short rib Birria tacos for my entree. They were full of beef with so much seasoning my tastebuds nearly exploded. This was definitely a 5-star experience and the service was excellent to boot. We'll definitely be returning.

It's hard to do a full review on a place when you're ordering just food via DoorDash because I might typically bump a star up if atmosphere is really good or service was stellar. I saw this as an option today and liked how the quesadillas looked online. I'm pretty picky when it comes to quesadillas. I like the tortilla to be semi-crispy and everything to hold up inside with the cheese. Nothing fancy, just mixed cheese/grilled onions/chicken/butter/green peppers. The good on these quesadillas is that the flavoring of the chicken was spot on and the pico was fresh. The downside was everything else. Tortilla was soggy and everything in the quesadillas did not stay intact. The chicken was also shredded, which I didn't like. Peppers and onions were super limp. I'm giving a 3 because I wasn't at the actual restaurant and sometimes food consistency is off from in-house compared with to-go. I won't be ordering this as a to-go option again, though. Your experience may differ.

    Salmon tacos. They lacked flavor.

I came in on a Saturday at dinner time. Was able to sit to the bar. The waitress was kind and attentive but the waiter never addressed me. The place was full but not overly crowded. Didn't seem to be a long wait. The margarita I got was just ok. I wish the mix was a bit sweeter. But it wasn't bad. The queso is not what I expected. I prefer a thicker more traditional white queso. This one is yellow which may be because of the seasoning they say is in there. Not my favorite. The chips however are good. They are seasoned. I for the salmon tacos and wasn't happy. The presentation and portions were great, but the salmon itself lacked flavor. No salt on the salmon. I expected more for blackened salmon. I may return, but there are better Mexican restaurants in the area.

Salt & Lime has two locations, but I've just dined at the one in North Ridge Shopping Center off Falls of Neuse Rd. The shopping center has a good-sized parking lot, but there aren't always spots near Salt & Lime. We were a larger group, and the waiter was friendly, although not the most attentive with drink refills or remembering what someone at the table requested. Food wasn't brought out to the table at once; it was a dish here, one there, and one took considerably longer than everyone else's. It would have been nice if there had been some communication about the delay. I ordered the Key Lime Mahi Mahi again, as it is a favorite dish of mine, and it was delicious as usual. Hopefully the service will be better on future visits.

Authentic Mexican food. I'm not from Raleigh so I didn't know much about this place. My daughter highly recommend it and when I tell you we went here twice during our weekend stay. The food is amazing! The drinks even better. Highly recommend. 10/10

I've been to Salt & Lime several times, but realized I hadn't written a review. So after dining there last night, here I am. The first time I dined there years ago, I wasn't impressed and it took me years to go back. But since I have been dining there the last 2 years or so, I love it! It's spacious and the ambiance is great! The service is always impeccable, shoutout to Mike and Chris!! The food is so good, even though I always get one of 3 tacos (short rib, island shrimp or Baja shrimp), I did finally try the corn and chicken chowder last night and it was so delicious. Oh and the trio of yumminess, salsa, guacamole and queso is a must!!! The drinks are always on point too (again shoutout to Mike). I'm tempted to go back again tonight.

I came here on a Friday night around 8pm. The restaurant is located in the North Ridge Shopping Center, so there's plenty of parking. We started with the shrimp empanadas, and they were delicious; crispy on the outside and flavorful filling on the inside. Definitely a great way to kick off the meal! For my entrée, I ordered the Key Lime Mahi Mahi and it was so fresh and tasty. Perfectly cooked, light, and packed with flavor. I really enjoyed every bite. My mom had the Shrimp & Grits (without the bacon). When the dish first arrived, it looked almost like a soup because of the amount of sauce, but it wasn't soupy at all, just rich, creamy, and full of flavor. The shrimp were a great size and cooked perfectly. On top of the food, the service was wonderful. Our waitress was kind and attentive.

All I'm gonna say is run, don't walk. I came here for Taco Tuesday and already know I'll be back. The Salmon Veracruz was the standout for me so good. The margaritas were strong and tasty, definitely a 10/10. Our waiter was really nice and didn't rush us at all, even when we took a while to order appetizers first, which I appreciated. The shrimp empanadas were different, in a good way. If you like spicy and sweet, you'd probably love them. They had a little kick but weren't overpowering. They do a 10 taco deal on Tuesdays with chicken tacos !!! my boyfriend liked them a lot. I had the mahi mahi tacos, and even he said mine were better, but both were solid. The vibe inside is fun and laid-back, with lots of cute decorations. the parking lot was super easy to deal with, which made everything better, don't have to struggle with street parking !

Yeah. This was probably the best Shrimp & Grits I've had in a very long time. I was sooooo happy with my choice. The shrimp and scallops were well seasoned. The grits were creamy. The $5 margaritas were a bonus and our server was just so lovely and polite. I wish we had one in New York.

Surf n turf burrito and cabo burger with fries
    Odamys P.

Went here for the first time to celebrate my birthday. Not the usual Mexican restaurant but food options were incredible. We started with two appetizers - the calamari was decent, just needed to be a bit more fried. The cabo rolls are a must for an appetizer. I've never had a more fulfilling wonton roll than this one! Margaritas were very good as well with the alcohol not being too overbearing. My wife got the shrimp and steak burrito on the menu and really enjoyed it! I got the cabo burger, it was unique since they added brisket to it but it worked very well and was delicious. The fries were the perfect sides to these dishes given their seasoning and crispyness. The cabo rolls itself are making me want to go back asap.

The tortillas did indeed taste like white bread, somehow. The cheese was an unidentifiable white cheese-like substance. The meat was completely flavorless and seemingly unseasoned, though, it did, at least, taste and look like it likely came from a recognizable member of the cattle family (rather than some other, less ideal, quadrupedal sources of red meat). The chips had the traditional shape and color of chips in a typical Tex-Mex restaurant. Despite the reassuring outward appearance, however, they were also oddly lacking in flavor, other than a strange movie popcorn-like aftertaste. The salsa unexpectedly seemed to have been fashioned from actual tomatoes, rather than the usual jarred mush found at most casual Tex-Mex restaurants. While normally this would be a good thing, here it meant that the salsa was being prepared in-house (or shipped in from the Chuy's warehouse of condiments). Though the salsa was acceptably mediocre, it benefitted from tasting a little better than other things on the table, which also helped me partially forgive its remarkable resemblance to gastric effluvium.

The parallel spots along midtown park are short term only, and I overheard staff mentioning parking enforcement does ticket if you go over. We ended up parking in the Harris Teeter garage and walking over, which was much easier. When you walk in you'll check in with the host and be seated. There are options to sit inside or outside. Given the weather and noise from kids playing in the park, we opted to sit inside at the bar. Service was inconsistent. When we sat down it took about 20 minutes for our server to greet us, and she only checked in a couple times during our meal. It seemed like the experience could vary quite a bit depending on who your server was. I ordered the queso compesto (Queso loaded up with seasoned ground beef, guacamole & pico de gallo and served with chips) which was cold but had good flavor. Next, I ordered the steak burrito with boom boom sauce and the green chili rice. The burrito was warm but the steak was extremely well done and had to cover the burrito in sauce to enjoy it. Overall, the experience missed the mark from a service and food quality stand point and I'm not sure if I'll be back. I may give the location in Cary a try before writing off Chuy's fully.

Let me start with the one thing that was good, then elaborate on everything else, which was not ... especially the "scab" tacos. Really?! Scab tacos??!! [They chose the name, not me. Bet they would like a do-over. Just sayin'.] THE GOOD - The smokey, deep brown salsa served slightly warm was quite tasty. EVERYTHING ELSE: 1. I had the Shrimp Diablo Tacos and they were a disaster! Not only was the shrimp fishy, but the "costra style" shells were an absolute abomination: VERY greasy, amazingly unattractive (see photo), and likely packed 800 calories each due to the grease and cheese. Since there was only 1 bar of web connection, I was unable to Google "costra style" before ordering. Had I been able to do so, the description of being "scab like" (yep! You read that correctly!! Scab!!!) would have made the dish a No Go. That said, I will say the term is accurate: they were DEFINITELY scab-like in appearance, and the degree of grease oozing off of them put me not only in mind of a scab, but one attached to an infected wound. Barf!! 2. My wife's #1 from the lunch menu was about as basic as a taco and enchilada can be. She even told me it was a stretch to call it Mexican food. 3. And one final point: the place is L-O-U-D inside. Not quite - but almost - to the degree of being unable to talk while eating. Adios!
