As a member of a Simi Valley Facebook Group I recently saw a post advertising a Japanese Head Spa Special ($100) with Megan. I've tried a Headspa before (different provider/location) and thoroughly enjoyed the experience - so on my last day of a two-week vacation from work I decided to treat myself. Booking the experience (via email) was super easy to do, and the night before my appointment I received a confirmation text. Megan is located within Salt & Sage Spa, which has a small parking lot, but also has plenty of unrestricted street parking on the nearby streets. When I walked into Salt & Sage I was immediately greeted and made to feel very welcome. I was offered coffee and water, asked to fill out a quick paperwork sheet, and then shown to the head spa room. The space is very small, but she makes the most of it. Megan started the appointment by using a camera to show me my scalp. After reviewing my scalp and taking several before shots, she left the room so I could change and get myself set up on the (very comfortable!) bed. I was asked to strip from the top, as a complementary hand/arm/shoulder massage is included. I was given an eye mask to black out all the (dimmed) lights in the room. Additionally, I was offered a complementary foot treatment, which included a cleaning of my feet, some lotion, and what I can only assume are heated slippers (my feet were wrapped, heated, and felt amazing!) The treatment quickly began, and let me tell you --- I was in heaven! I much preferred this treatment, as to the one I had previously received (where in my opinion the provider talked too much about personal stuff, and I didn't really get to relax). In this instance, Megan and I exchanged pleasantries on the way to the treatment room but once we got down to business it was silence and bliss. Megan treated my hair with a multitude of different shampoos/conditioners/etc. I felt like I was in some type of ASMR video because I could hear the bubbles crunching and popping against my scalp. Again, I cannot emphasize how soothing and relaxing this felt. Megan used firm pressure on my scalp, and some combs/brushes/head massager tools. I felt myself drifting in and out of sleep several times throughout the whole experience. She gave me a quick arm/hand massage - which lasted a few minutes, but I would say the majority of the treatment was spent on my scalp. Once we were done, after the privacy of changing, we reviewed the scalp camera again and the difference was extremely noticeable. At the completion of the treatment I was shown to the auxiliary room where there was a blow-dryer and clean combs/brushes for my convenience. Overall I am very, very, happy with the treatment that I received. Megan was extremely pleasant and the atmosphere at Salt & Sage was extremely relaxing. While Japanese Head Spas tend to be a bit on the pricy side (I've never seen one for $100 before, which is also why I was very inclined to try her special offer) I also think that the regular price of $140 is very reasonable for the service which she provides, I would highly recommend seeing her, and I will be booking again in the future. read more

I was so excited to schedule another massage appointment with Andria at S&S. I called on a Monday a few weeks ago and left a message with an employee requesting an appointment with Andria. I left my contact information and that I was flexible but hoping for an appointment on Saturday. I didn't receive a call back on Monday. I called again on Tuesday with the same request and information. The person I spoke with remembered my call from the day before and said she would remind Andria to call. I didn't receive a call back on Tuesday. Weeks have passed and I still haven't received a call. Giving credit where credit is due- the massage was fantastic, which is why I was excited to come back. This review is long overdue. I made an appt a few days before my best friend's wedding to get a detox pimple facial. Painful, but it really did the job! My acne skin looked so much better for the wedding and I honestly couldn't be any happier with the service. They were super friendly and they are a family owned company, which I love!! When I was leaving I told them I have such issues with finding products that don't bother my skin and they have a whole skin line they created themselves!! Had a facial done by Jessica, she was wonderful, very professional and did a great job!! However, I was a little disappointed upon leaving. On their website, it shows that they have a relaxation room and a sauna. I was under the impression that it would just be available. On the website they advertise that it's included if you pay for a massage or a facial, nothing was offered. After my facial, I did inquire about the amenities and the lady who walked me out, explained that it was upon request. She continued to explain that they didn't want to be "water wasteful" I get that, however, being that it was my first visit, it would've been nice if it was offered. I came here with my gf. I wanted to go then I didn't. I read they have a black head removal facial so I went. It was good, it is an about an hour. Wish it was an little longer but they took out all my blackheads. It felt good and fresh. She was nice I forgot her name but that was her last weekend there. I booked a Japanese scalp treatment. In hopes of pure relaxation. Megan was very nice but the service was very lack luster. Ive seen plenty of videos of this treatment and it was nothing like it. Its supposed to be full of massaging scalp and arms and shoulders. The shoulder massage was maybe 5 minutes and the rest of the appt was just hair washing, no pressure of any sort (i had stated moderate pressure). It was the same motion over and over. I was also told when i booked that i would have the opportunity to use a steam room or sauna, those were never shown to me or offered. $140 unfortunately was way too much for this. And to leave with wet hair, although it was stated i could blow dry my hair in the changing room. read more

Had my first appointment at Salt & Sage salons and spa today. I was running 10 minutes late so I called and they were nice and understanding! I felt terrible so I want to be sure to post my sincere review. First off all the ladies I have spoken to on the phone are really nice! If you book an appointment each service provider books their own, however if you are booking multiple the front desk will coordinate for you! That was such a relief since I was doing a wax, hair and mani appt. There is plenty of parking! It is located in a really nice safe out of the busy area part of town! Once you go in the waiting area has lots of beverage options! And the restrooms are extremely clean!!! The spa area was so nice and relaxing. I just walked thru and I wanted to lay down and take a nap!!! My hair appointment was wonderful! I was with Angela Buschke. I really felt like she listened to what I needed for my appointment, and she did an excellent job! She also did my wax while my hair set with conditioner. So over all it was a very pleasant experience, and I love my hair again!!! Then I had a mani appointment with Denise Keyser, and was extremely happy with not only the service she provided but her over all relaxing personality! She was so nice and easy to talk to!
