I called last minute to see if they could get me in today for underarm and leg wax. They could! I was very excited. The prices were also on point. The woman who waxed me was very nice. That said, there were some issues. First, no cleaning of my legs (no powder/alcohol to remove oils). Second, there was no after care for my legs (no oil or gel to help with redness), and there was still wax residue when I left. Thirdly, the same stick was used each time in the wax - hopefully they won't reuse the wax on someone else. Finally, there's still visible hair on my underarms and legs - not a ton but still visible. My first brazillian wax (which was not by Shabby, it was at a place that no longer is in business...) was a horrific experience. The waxer kept going over the same spots again and again and again, my skin was super inflamed, and it didn't even get close to removing all the hair. The whole thing took over 45 agonizing minutes, and I thought for sure I would never try waxing again. Well... its been about 10 years since then and I was really tired of shaving. After reading good reviews about Shabby's Skin Kare, I decided to give the brazillian wax one more chance. I am so happy that I did! The price is great, the salon is clean and quiet, and best of all Shabby works SO quickly and does a fantastic job. I do underarms now too, and I'm in and out in 10 minutes. I think this is the most important factor- obviously waxing can be a painful thing, but because its over so quickly its totally manageable! Making an appointment is always easy, parking is a breeze, and as long as you look up the location first and know where you are going it isn't hard to find at all. I have purchased the package deal twice now, its a great price! If you are like me and had a bad experience with waxing elsewhere, you should really try going here. First time visit I was very pleased with my experience. I've had years of Brazilian waxes, compared to other experiences, she was well prepared/professional/fast! Anyway, I am 38 weeks pregnant getting a Brazilian wax, because, you know, got to impress the doctors (‍)... It presented some unexpected limitations, to be honest, it makes everything hyper sensitive. But maintenance is key, so it's my mistake for putting it off until the last minute. With that said Shabby was incredibly accommodating and understanding, when she could have easily been frustrated for having to give me some extra time! For something that is as personal as this, on top of being uncomfortable, she made me feel appreciated and cared for. I highly recommend her simply because she's reasonably priced, fast, and has a good personality. [ I read through some of the other reviews and I can see where there are areas that could be improved. But I will say that she is now using baby powder (which that contains harmful products that you DO NOT want near your reproductive organs!!!), she asked me if the wax was too hot, and she told me if she was going too fast she could slow down. So I found this lady on Groupon and it was pretty difficult making an appointment here. She wanted me to schedule a wax first thing in the morning because she will be leaving for the rest of they day. But who here is ready to get their hair strip first thing in the morning!?!? I couldn't questioned because I was living in a cruise the same day and I went for it. I noticed she uses the same wax sitting on the table from prior clients and already I had a bad feeling about her. Shabby was very sweet, professional and quick. I had Brazilian wax and it's always nice when the appointment goes quickly and is good quality. She has an awesome special going on for purchasing 6 months for $210, each brings the price down to $35 for each Brazilian which I'm considering. Only downside is I was a bit uncomfortable with the seating position, but I'm sure this makes things easier for her and that's why.. This is an all around thorough review of Shabby's skin care. The good and the bad. I called to make an appointment because of the deal off of groupon, 22$ for a Brazilian, you can't beat that. She fit me into her schedule but my biggest pet peeve is when a business owner says that I shouldn't have bought the groupon, she would honor the price in person. Ok fine, I understand that. Next, I arrive to the appointment and fill out paper work which is cool. Within minutes I'm brought to a room in which the door is parallel with the reception desk. Im asked to undress and lay on the bed with legs hanging down. Mind you, I'm looking at the door. I thought she would be a tad bit more discreet with opening the door because i don't want people to see my nether regions, let alone before the wax! Here comes the waxing. As a review mentioned before me, she doesn't not clean the area, which I think is really bad. No baby powder as well, just straight to the wax. I felt like she was painting the hot wax onto my sweet spot and she was going to rip it off in one strip. I'm not kidding, it's true. She wasn't asking if I was ok, or putting any pressure after she ripped a strip off (and ladies, you know how much that top part hurts). I felt like she was going at her pace and not mine. I wasn't very comfortable during the process. She gives you gloves to wear during it which is cool because you have to hold yourself in ways to facilitate the waxing. I did like that there wasn't any residual wax left. There's nothing worse than having wax on your bum or your, you know. Once she was done, she didn't say ok, you may get dressed now. It was more of a looks good, and walked out. I was like, I guess I'm done then. I came out to pay, I told her I cancelled the groupon so I would just pay her. I handed her a credit card and she asked "do you have cash?" This is another pet peeve, you can ask if I have the change in the amount being paid but not if I have cash. It all comes back to the fact that she doesn't want to be charged, not in the groupon, and not for a credit card charge. It's just customer service skills that are lacking, doing what benefits her rather than the customer. Overall, I didn't have the worst time at Shabby's. It's just not what I expected. She is very friendly, the process was simple, she uses silk wax (for me first time this kind of wax) and it really worked for me. I would recommend anyone to go and try her waxing. Experienced the fastest Brazilian wax ever here in my life! Shabby was friendly and made good conversation. After I filled out a short survey about my skin health, I went into a private room. Shortly thereafter, she went to work on the wax. There were (2) differences from this wax versus all the others I've had before. First, she didn't sprinkle baby powder on the area beforehand. Second, she didn't follow up with tweezers. Because of the latter, the remaining stray hairs were more evident in just a couple days. Process took less than 10 minutes, from the moment I entered the private room, to when I left the premises. Location is a bit hidden --- I missed it the first time and drove right by, so keep an eye out for the sign. The inside decor is very clean and professional. All around good experience! read more

Such a great experience with Shabby! This was my first time there and when I walked in I was greeted by name by Shabby and reception. It was a very private experience and I didn't feel the pull of other people watching and looking at me before I got my service done. I went in for a Brazilian and thank goodness it wasn't hard wax that was used. Shabby has different ways of making sure the skin is prevented from pulling up during waxing and made it a very quick experience. I have been at places that take more than 25 minutes to complete the waxing process but with Shabby it took less than 20 and I feel confident in her skill and experience. My first visit this woman had her work cut out for her - it had been a minute since I'd waxed (ok, it had been 5 minutes, lets be honest). She did a great job, won me over & invited me back for a facial special she was running too. I went back a month later for upkeep & this facial. Now I've had a handful of facials in my life but this one...OHMYGAW! It was AH-MAZE-ING!! Even the extractions, which are always the worst part, were not terrible. I've had waxes every few weeks for about a year and half, and this place is in my top few waxes. Very affordable price. The place is VERY clean. They had me put gloves on during my wax, which I've never done before but makes sense so I don't touch my body then touch doorknobs in the place! It's a really nice little place in a shopping center tucked behind another building. Easy to find on google maps and there's a big sign out front. Best Brazilian Ever! I found this place on Groupon and am thrilled that I purchased the 3 pack of waxes instead of just one. Shabby was the most thorough waxer I've ever been with. This is my first experience with Shabby and I am hooked. I tried her service with skin tightening. I must say I was skeptical at first, but I am believer now.
