I would give more stars if I could! This salon and Barry are amazing! First things first...I moved here about a year ago and still haven't found a new hair stylist. I've used the same hair lady since I was about 15, so over 12 years. I have extremely thick and unruly hair and I've had more than my fair share of hair nightmares. Not everyone can handle it or knows how it should be cut to actually look and feel good! I'm getting married at the end of the month back in Illinois and my regular hair lady couldn't get me in the week of the wedding to thin my hair. I knew I had to have it done in Florida before we leave because I just can't have it so heavy on my wedding day. I called Saltlight and got in the same day. I explained my situation to Barry and was upfront with the fact that I have a lot of hair. He made sure he had enough time before his next client to do a proper job. He didn't just squeeze me in and hope to get it done. I arrived and was NERVOUS! I could not have my hair screwed up so close to the big day, but it was my fault for waiting until the last minute. I immediately felt welcomed and a bit calmed because Barry was the only one in the salon. Normally, Laura is there also, but she was out at the moment. It makes such a difference when you can actually have a conversation with the stylist without feeling like they are doing a million other things around you. Barry was so easy to talk to, knew exactly how to handle my huge hair and was exactly what I've been looking for! The price can't be beat and the environment and skill are more than I ever expected! I went in legit looking like Hagrid from Harry Potter and came out with beautiful, light, HEALTHY feeling hair. Barry, I can't thank you enough! I cannot say enough good things about my time at Saltlight. I went in thinking I was going to chop everything off and start over. At 53, having cancer nonsense the last 2 years prior to meeting Laura, my hair was a mess! She said, no, no, we can fix it and fix it SHE DID. Not only did she put me on the road to hair recovery, she educated me with things I have NEVER heard from any other hair dresser. Education is priceless! If she says, lets do a detox - DO IT! If she says, I think a glaze would be good - DO IT! I hadn't worn my hair down for maybe 7 years other than a quick dinner. After her cut and love, I didn't put my hair up for WEEKS. Just thrilled! My only criticism? And you may find this as well ..... This may cause interruptions with your concentration and sleep as your hair will feel and look SO GREAT that you can't think of anything else. Weeks after seeing her, I would roll over in bed and graze my hand against my hair, ahhhh, feels like a silk pillow case! Had the most wonderful experience at Saltlight! I was a walk-in on a very hot afternoon...I was greeted with a smile and a cold glass of water from Barry. I've had a foto of a new do on my phone for ages and finally got up the nerve to cut my hair. Barry first asked me about my lifestyle (if I use product, blow dry, work out etc.) and pointed out that the "carefree" style I wanted actually would require work to maintain. So he cut my hair to a similar length and added a few layers to emulate the style in an easy to maintain way. I was going quite gray, and inquired about coloring options. Once again, highlights or permanent color would require upkeep, so Barry suggested a semi-permanent color and used a lighter brown over my gray that would grow out without a harsh line. The salon itself is so bright and cheerful... (fantastic sun mural on wall) and décor is fun, music was calm, and can't say how enough how welcoming Barry made me feel...very friendly and upbeat. He brightened up not only my day, but my whole demeanor as I left with shiny, bouncy hair and a smile. read more

I was referred to Laura by my girlfriend who goes there for hair cut and color (whenever we're out together people stop her to ask where she gets her hair cut!). Anyhow, I've been growing out my natural grey hair since May and have been to 3 different colorists to try to make the transition look good, all to no avail. I went to Laura last night and WOW, I am sooo pleased. I let her do what she thought best and my hair looks already completely grown out to my natural color, but better! Then she gave me a hip hair style so the grey didn't age me. Very pleased. Calm, relaxed atmosphere. Beer and wine if you want, but I enjoyed the filtered water with lemon. read more

Great little salon with highly trained stylists! Finding a great salon and stylist is priceless, and Saltlight Salon is my new go to! This was my third cut with Barry and I'm relieved and pleased to have found someone to cut this picky lady's hair. He is very friendly, extremely professional, and just gives a great cut and style. Laura the owner, is super friendly and does an equally great job! Both are well trained and care about the quality of service their clients receive. Prices are very reasonable. They are a great addition to downtown Lake Worth and I highly recommend them. read more

Laura is a magician. I was beginning to lose hope that I could ever have the hairstyle I wanted after various stylists tried and failed to make it happen. But as soon as I showed Laura a reference picture, she knew exactly what to do -- and it came out perfectly! I left the salon that day feeling the best about my hair that I ever had. And to top it all off, she gave me great tips on how to style it, so I had no problem recreating it the next day! I moved here about a year ago and I've been searching for a good salon. Saltlight is great! An adorable little salon with an attentive, friendly staff. You feel special the minute you walk in the door. Barry is terrific. He really listens, offers suggestions and is absolutely meticulous. I love my new haircut by Laura! It's one of the best cuts I've had in a very long time. She used a different type of technique and I think it makes my traditional hairstyle seem more updated. Next I'm going to try highlights. And by the way this salon is so cute and cheerful with bright coastal colors and Beautiful watercolors of sea life. It feels warm and welcoming. I walked in and made an Appointment for the following day . Laura was beyond helpful and excited to get me in. I am from out of town and my hair was looking not so great . I just wanted a shampoo and blow dry. Wow ! Just wow !!! Laura knew exactly what she was doing with my bleach blonde hair . My blowout came out beautifully. I needed a style change and made an appointment in September. Laura styled my hair. She cut it to help me grow it into the style I wanted. However, this cut has been perfect and I have received so many compliments that I intend to keep it. My hair keeps the style, does not frizz, and is easy to do. It took me a few days to love my new hair colour, as it had been years - but I do! I went into the salon with a colour error done by another Lake Worth stylist and walked out in 2 1/2 hours with a new colour, highlights, healthier hair and a much better feeling about myself and my hair.
