I can't wait until we're back on the island to book with the Commander Zodiac team again! Janna…read morewas awesome about communicating the changes with the weather and helped us rebook our tour so we wouldn't miss out on seeing dolphins. We also had the best captain on the island, Captain Todd! I cannot say enough about this wonderful gem of a man. We had booked a private tour since it was originally supposed to be the entire family, but because of changes not everyone was in town yet. It ended up just being four of us on the small boat and it was worth it. Captain Todd was so knowledgable about the island, the dolphins and the tides. Our 4.5 yo is very curious and Captain Todd answered every questions like a pro! After she told him that she loved seashells he made a special excursion to shell island (I never even knew all those banks were shells and not sand!) and found her the most amazing shells to take home. We saw so many dolphins! The dolphin tour was equal parts exhilarating and relaxing and we were so happy it worked out even with the impending storm. Both my 4.5yo and 9mo loved the tour and neither were afraid at any point even though it was there first time on a speed boat. We will definitely be back!

We had the best ride with Captain Mark at the end of the August. It was a perfect summer afternoon,…read moreand he was able to start a bit earlier since we arrived ahead of time. We saw TONS of dolphins and jellyfish, and he took us to shell island! Mark was super knowledgeable about the island and the nature around us. Highly recommend doing a tour with Commander Zodiac - it feels like such a personalized experience with people who know their stuff and care about the environment.

BEST DOG-FRIENDLY CRUISE EVER…read more We took Coopie on a dog-friendly cruise with Vagabond Cruise and WOW... we're still not over it From the second we stepped on, the crew made us (and Coopie) feel so welcome. It's actually one of those rare experiences where your dog isn't just allowed... they're part of the whole adventure We saw dolphins swimming right next to the boat (Coopie was LOCKED IN watching them ), and the views during sunset were unreal. The ride was super smooth, relaxing, and honestly such a perfect mix of fun + peaceful vibes. What we loved most: * Dog-friendly AND stress-free (huge win) * Friendly, knowledgeable crew * Tons of space for your pup to chill * Dolphin sightings + insane sunset views 10/10 would do this again with Coopie If you're in Hilton Head and want something different + dog-friendly... this is a MUST. Follow our adventures: @Coopiegoldendoodle

After paying the nine dollars for a day pass to enter Sea Pines we followed the column of traffic…read moreheaded to Harbour Town, I've visited this location quite a bit over the years but it's been more than a decade and it seems not much has change except for the ridiculous amount of traffic on the island. I live in a tourist town in Florida so it's annoying but part of life in paradise. I guess the entrance fee covers your parking because it's all free once you pass the guard gates, all that's required is luck finding a space within a reasonable walking distance, I got lucky today being someone was pulling out just as I arrived at the preferred parking lot a stones throw from the pier. The pier is well constructed and offers some great views and a covered sitting area at the end. There are plenty of charter businesses that run parallel to the pier and a number of placards describing some of the local bird and sea inhabitants. I always spend some time on the local piers when visiting different areas they all seem to offer a few moments of serenity. There is also a walking beach close by that looks like it offers some shelling opportunities but today that option looks limited, I'm sure most visitors grab a few free souvenirs from here. It's a must do while visiting Harbour Town and this alone is worth the price of admission when considering the parking is free...

The perfect spot for your photo of the sunset on Hilton Head Island, there is no charge to visit…read morethe pier (you've already paid to enter Sea Pines) and you can easily get out over the water. We checked it out, took our pictures, and moved along. I think the Daufuskie Island Ferry might stop here, but certainly any number of harbor (harbour?) cruises depart and return from here.
