It was easy to make the reservation online. You pick your departure to Dafauskie and your return trip. Recommend getting the Meals and Wheels option. The island is walkable, but we opted for the 11am Ferry and if we had opted for no golf cart, it would have felt like we missed a lot. The ladies at the check in were great. Unfortunately, they had to deal with a Karen that obviously didn't read how it worked. If they made the reservation online, you clearly picked a departure from Hilton Head and then your departure from Dafauskie Island. With that being said, if there's a review for Memorial Day 2026 that's bad, don't pay attention to it. Our Ferry ride operator was cool. It was a smooth ride in both directions. We truly enjoyed our visit to Daufuskie Island with The Daufuskie Difference, Island Head. They were prompt in departing for Daufuskie as well as our return back to Hilton Head. We reserved our golf cart through them as well. It was ready and waiting. We made our way back to Daufuskie Crab for late lunch. My boyfriend had the fried shrimp and I had the chicken tenders. Both arrived hot. The public restrooms were clean. The ride back to HHI departed on time. It was a great trip. I would do it again. read more

This company is only focused on profits - oversold a hibachi cruise to then tell us from the "captain" that the weather would be fine to them saying - it wasn't up to them to leave the dock - if you like over crowded no place to sit 1000 yard cruises - then book away! Avoid at all costs! read more

The outbound trip was great. The return trip was horrible. Temp was in the low 50s, with high winds. If you know this is the weather, why bring an open air boat to carry folks across the channel when you have an enclosed boat available return trip was cold, wet and miserable. The Ferry ride was good. Was not too thrilled with the Golf cart part of the deal. It was a gas cart which excluded you from certain areas. It barely went 20 miles an hour. I cannot with a good conscience recommend this experience. First, I was told only at departure there would be an extra fee if I wanted to go along to observe my children. I have done parasailing twice before with them each time I was simply observing and I had no fee. Unfortunately, I felt held hostage in this scenario they require 24 hrs to cancel reservation with no penalty. In addition, their website makes no reference to a charge required to go along with your young children ( youngest was 5). I confirmed my 4 children were the only ones on the trip. So, again a charge is never mentioned in any form about going with your children, 24 hr notice is needed to cancel, and there was more than enough room was available on the boat. Next, I cannot post the video but not only did they not let me ride with my children on the boat ( I had two other children too young to parasail and they wanted again the 50 dollar observation fee for 4 year olds and younger), but you can see one of the employees (while my children are in the air) is laying down and fooling with his phone. The video also shows my children in the air and the captain with his hands off the wheel talking to another staff member. My children are in the air and not being observed in any manner. This is inexcusable and extremely immature. The captain is also viewable playing on his phone while driving the boat and my kids in the air. Last the description says approx 1.5 hr and that you will or may see this or that wildlife. It was less than 45 min or 100% less time then advertised and I payed for. I cannot express my level of disappointment in this experience and their staff. Grown men taking someone else's children on a boat, tying them to a parachute, and these men are unable to put their phones down like a teenager. Inexcusable. read more

The guide told us he would tell his boss to put us on the schedule for Thursday. Awesome! We show up today, weather is great and water is calm. We are excited! Until we ware told by an employee from another company that they were told the 7pm kayaking was cancelled. So I call Island Head and confirmed. Yep! Cancelled again. No reason given. No heads up. Just cancelled. I was issued a refund, but vacation is over and there is no time to reschedule with another company. 0/10 experience. Would not recommend. read more

What an amazing night on the water this was. We have been visiting Hilton head for the last few years and when we saw this we knew we had to reserve it. Hibachi on the water?! Two of our favorite things. The food was EXCEPTIONAL. A little hard to entertain a hug boat when people aren't circled around the chefs but they did a great job entertaining the ones around them. The food was homemade and their yum yum sauce was to die for. Everyone who loves hibachi knows that's a staple when you eat hibachi! We had the most stunning, beautiful night. I am writing this review because I am still completely astonished by the customer service we received. As I plan our upcoming vacation for the summer, I wanted to share my experience. Last August my family, a group of over 15 of us, vacationed in Hilton Head. I booked a Parasailing trip at Island Head Family Adventures, 46 Jenkins Road Hilton Head, S.C. This trip was for 5 children. Two days after arriving at Hilton Head my father in law, who was with us at the beach, unexpectedly passed away. Our entire family was devastated, as you can imagine, and we were unable to make the parasailing trip. I called Island Head Family Adventures dozens of times asking if we could reschedule our reservation for another day......explaining the situation. I researched available time slots and continued to call trying to reschedule. Trying anything I could possibly do to bring a smile to these FIVE children who were completely heartbroken. The girl in the office even got me in touch with one of the boat operators and he said he would call me to see what he could do. When we spoke he said he would return my call at the end of the day, but I did not receive that call. When I returned home to Virginia I got in touch with Michael Withrow, who is the co-owner (I believe) of this business. I talked to him on the phone and wrote a letter explaining the situation, requesting a refund. Email after email......He said he would speak to the owner and see what they could do for us. I NEVER received a response. I decided to contact my credit card company to dispute the charges of $562.23 Island Head Family Adventures wrote a response to the credit card company saying THE CUSTOMER CHECKED ALL 5 CHILDREN IN, SIGNED THE WAIVERS AND ENJOYED THEIR PARASAILING TRIP! They even said they could provide screen shots of our check in. UNBELIVABLE!!!!!!!!!! It made me sick to my stomach that they would lie. I work for a family owned business and we pride ourselves on customer service. There have been many instances that unforeseen events have occurred, and we do whatever possible to help the customer. At this point, a year later, probably nothing can be done.......But I am completely DISGUSTED to this day, not only that they did nothing to help my family but that they blatantly LIED. I will never recommend this business to any of my family or friends who often visit Hilton Head and I will be sure to continue to share my horrible experience. read more

My wife and two daughters (13 and 9) parasailed with Island Head when we were in Hilton Head the week of 7/20. They had a great experience. The staff was very safety conscious. The only downside is my 9 year old wanted to go faster. These folks are very good. Give them a try. read more
