I came here today to make a purchase for a raised bed garden I was trying to freshen up after 5…read moreyears of non use. The parking lot was full of trucks when I arrived. I took one of the last open spots. I was able to find what I wanted easily. It was on an end cap toward the front. Prices were slightly higher on one of the items but the other item wasn't in stock in any local big box store (it would have to be ordered). Many of the garden soil amendment bags in store were dusty and/or dirty like they had been sitting so I'm not sure how often stock is rotated through. The parking lot was full but I guess they buy stuff by the truck load instead. I did spend some time wandering the store to see if there was anything else I would like. One of the employees was having a conversation with a customer how a female politician only got her position by being on her knees. Thought that was pretty inappropriate and sexist. I did wait for a few minutes at the counter, waiting to be rung out, since both employees disappeared. No bell or anything, just wait for someone to come and see I was there. No real sense of customer service. Just "is this your stuff?" and rang me out. I do like to support local but my experience wasn't really anything special. At least they had the product as needed without having to order and have it shipped from Lowe's or Home Depot.

I saw an ad for the Barkin' Bargains thrift shop and immediately knew I had to go take a look! The…read morethrift shop is in the front of the Animal Welfare Society, which was a little difficult to find using Maps, but I eventually found it. You can't miss the big dog sign once you're on the road. The size of the shop is decent and everything is well-organized. I chatted with the volunteer working there and she was very friendly! There was some really nice items in there and the prices were extremely reasonable, especially considering the fact that it goes to a good cause! You can find jewelry, glassware, books, stuffed animals, holiday decorations, board games, CD's and DVD's, purses, and picture frames in the shop. I purchased a necklace, earrings, sunglasses, a ring, and a vinegar decanter for less than 5 bucks. What a deal! I definitely will make a point to come back when I visit Cape May!
