We were immediately greeted upon arrival in the parking lot, the lady checking people in even offered to bring us a cart to put all of our stuff in to make it easier to get it to the pontoon! Getting to the pontoon, the gentleman was very helpful with explaining everything about the pontoon, where everything was at in the bay, how to get there, where to dock/drop anchor, etc. Very helpful! My family had a very good experience renting a full-day pontoon. I registered and filled out all forms prior to arrival for a seamless check-in. Basically, I showed up, showed my I.D., loaded my party and our stuff, went over safety guidelines and we were off for a fun full day visiting shell island, the jetties and dolphin sightings galore! We rent 3-4 times per year primarily from the "red" boat company LP across the bay but, I have found a new one I'll be bringing my business to from now on. By the way, besides the experience, these guys, Dan in particular was helpful, friendly and low key (felt un-rushed) and this boat came with a 115hp motor which cuts through the water with ease. We rented a boat during Labor Day weekend and had a really great experience with Salty Pontoons. The staff was super helpful and happily answered all of the questions I had, as I was nervous about the crowds and not knowing where we were going. The boat was clean, had Bluetooth speakers, and a nice ladder to climb in and out of the boat. There was also a laminated map on the boat that we used, which was super helpful. The boat felt very up to date and safe and was large enough for all 11 people in our party to fit comfortably. We will definitely rent from them again if we are ever back in PCB! read more

I came to the Pensacola Penninsula for spring break. We had discussed renting a jet ski and taking it out. Seeing as I was with my girlfriend and out posse of children, we wanted somewhere affordable, but allowed us the freedom to come back and pick up a different child. I called 5 places, everywhere was booked or ridiculously expensive. When Amy answered the phone at Salty Pontoon, she helped explain their packages to get the best bang for our buck. We decided on the partially guided dolphin tour. 2 hours, with the first hour guided by a guide. We also added an additional hour onto the package. We showed up and saw brand new Sea-Doos. Suddenly, all of the kids began getting excited about our last second excursion. Dalton was our guide, and was awesome. He took us out and showed us how to properly navigate the shallow parts and where to go for the best dolphin sightseeing. He took us around shell island and on the gulf side of that island, we saw tons of dolphins and were able to get super close! We traded off and on over 3 hours, with the freedom to come and go as we pleased. The staff there was very helpful in getting people on and off, were truly super great with the entire family, and caring about everyone. They have sunscreen there to purchase, and crabs in he area to catch and play with as well. This entire experience was much better than any of us ever imagined. I can't say enough about how great it was. I truly have no regrets. They were very affordable and had availability when I needed it. Great staff, great jet skis, great time. Highly recommend renting a pontoon to go to Shell Island. It was a great way to spend a day. We did the full day rental on the 12 person pontoon for a party of 5. The boat was in good condition and clean. We had trouble getting the boat to full throttle. Turns out there was a shell stuck which wasn't allowing the motor to trim properly. The shell had to have been there when we left because I noticed it right after we went under the bridge and tried to throttle up. The boat not being mechanically ready is why I am giving the 3 stars. We lost half an hour or because we had to poke along. The staff was very courteous and the booking process went smoothly. An afternoon thunderstorm popped up and they called to make sure we were headed back to the dock. I would do this again and would give them another shot. Lesson learned on checking the motor out first though. read more

We had a great time with our 12-seater pontoon. Booking was easy - we reserved online about 2 weeks prior to our trip. We drove from 30a so it took about 30 mins to get there. Getting there was easy and there was plenty of parking. The dock staff was great - they helped get us set up and gave a brief overview of the boat. There are wagons available to lug all of your stuff from the car. The boat had bluetooth speakers with pretty good speakers - it was easy to connect our phones. Once on the water we cruises around, went to shell island and docked up at Uncle Eddies for lunch. We were there the last week of September (fall break for GA schools) - there were not alot of boats out on the water which made it great for us. Can't wait for next year to do this again. read more

We had an amazing experience renting a pontoon boat from Salty Pontoons! The staff were friendly and helpful. I was glad to get an emaIled receipt of my booking and a reminder of our rental also came one day ahead. The boat was clean and performed well and the radio worked ( heard this is an issue at other places). Shell Island was peaceful and calm, which us older folks loved. Easy booking and once we arrived we were on the boat and ready to go within five minutes. Great explanation as to where everything was and low tide warnings. The map was super helpful. I'd love to give them five stars, but the condition of the boat was horrible. Every seat was moldy and ripped. And, if you weren't careful, you would fall into the seat wells. I was not careful. Twice. The doors didn't want to stay locked in place, either. The boat got us there and back but I think if we are having to use a boat that looks like this one did, we should have received a discount. Would book again but would not accept that same boat. If there had been other boats there when we arrived, we would have insisted on a different one. read more

On 4/22/22 a rental pontoon from Salty Pontoons experienced a complete steering breakdown and struck my dock and a neighbor's boat. Investigation by FWC and Sheriff determined mechanical breakdown was the cause of the accident. A representative of Salty Pontoons showed up and confirmed that the boat had just had the steering repaired and that they thought it was fixed. Micah Heller, the owner of Salty Pontoons initially blamed the operator for the accident and claimed that Salty Pontoons was not liable for repairs to my dock. He further stated that the individual who rented the boat was responsible for all repairs. Rather strangely, he then paid for the repairs to my neighbor's boat, but refused to pay for my dock repair. Once the official report stated that defective steering caused the accident, he then stated he would send his dock repair crew over to fix my dock. That was June 2022. He has since refused to respond to any emails and is never at the marina when we go over there to see him. He owns a very expensive home and lots of nice toys - RV, jet-skis, golf carts etc. This is a very unethical business and I would not recommend them to anyone looking for a reputable boat rental company. Salty Pontoons was great! The booking was easy, the explaining was thorough, and the boat was great. The map was useful as well. Friendly staff that was available if we needed assistance. My only suggestion would be a better anchor. We had some issues anchoring the boat with an aluminum anchor. Other than that, it was great. Will def use again if ever in PCB. read more

We rent a pontoon every year we travel to PCB and this was the first time we've rented from Salty's and it won't be the last. The staff was super helpful and knowledgeable and also very friendly. We didn't find the location at first because the wrong address was located on google, but we called and they gave us the right address and easy directions to them from where we were. The pontoon boats are way nicer than some of the boats we've rented from other places and the price here was even better. They also rent jet skis which my husband is really excited about. read more

If you like being talked down to, cursed at by the staff, and belittled...this is the place for you. The Boat was great, the staff was not. They were rude and snide from being to end. They tried to cut our time short and tell us to be back a whole hour before we needed to be. It was a 4 hour half day rental, and they tried to tell us to be back in 3 hours. And then we're swearing and cursing at us when we got back because they said we didn't follow instructions that they never gave us. There are so many places to rent from in PCB... This is a GREAT place to rent a pontoon. The prices are better than anywhere else and boats are in fantastic (like new) condition. It is one of the two furthest from Shell Island. However, the ride is only about an extra 10 minutes and well worth the savings. The guys working there are super helpful and even helped load our coolers onto the boat. We rented for a full day and worth the entire time. Shell Island, fishing, swimming, riding around in the middle of the bay. We will definitely rent here again!!!! read more

The first time to PCB and they made it easy. Boats were clean and well equipped. They were open early so we got out before 8 with no wait (BONUS). The deckhand showed us where everything was on the boat under the seats. He even told us to wait to try to hookup Bluetooth until we got away from the docks for no interference. Their map showed us just where to go for snorkeling and then swimming on the beach. It was a bit farther than the other rental places but the 90 HP motor, covered the distance well. The ride took us past the Naval station and the harbor dock so the kids enjoyed seeing the big ships. We had a blast and would use them again. The only downside was they didn't have snorkel equipment for rent but they told us that in advance and we got some from another source at 10.00 a set. read more

The day we scheduled to take out our pontoon it was rainy. We decided to go anyway because it looked like it was supposed to clear up in a couple hours. The guy at the dock told us that if we saw lightning, we needed to get back to the dock as fast as possible, and assured us they would work with us if we had to return it early. About an hour or so in, it began lightning, so we did as he asked and returned to the dock. We used hardly any gas and were out for around two of the ten hours we had scheduled. He told us he would try to get us at least 50% of our money back, but we later received a message saying we would only be getting back 25%. On top of this, they cancelled all reservations for the remainder of the day, so even if we had wanted to return and take the boat back out, we wouldn't have been able to. It stopped raining shortly after we returned it and didn't rain at all from then to the time we would have had to return it at 5:30pm (FYI, 8am-5:30pm is 9.5 hours, not 10 as advertised). I would have been fine with 50% of our money back as I understand there is a certain fee associated with departing from the dock, but because of what we were told, the assurance we received that the company would work with us and the fact that we couldn't return despite the weather improving, I am very dissatisfied with this experience. I will not be doing business with this company on my future trips to PCB. read more

I was able to rent a boat the day before, plus it was during 2019 spring break in PCB. The price was extremely reasonable. I had six people with me and for a pontoon boat, it was surprisingly fast. The waiting time was nearly nothing we were able to pick the boat we wanted and put our stuff down immediately. The boat was extremely clean and new. The environment was awesome, to sign in just walk to the Tikis. The customer service was laid back. They walk through everything I needed to know about the boat, incredibly easily. Excellent customer service! My mother is in a wheelchair and they were so helpful with getting her on and off the boat. They have a floating dock which makes it very convenient with loading and unloading everything. They also helped load some handicap accessories we had to bring, along with the coolers and such. They were very helpful and knowledgeable giving instructions to my son who we let drive the boat. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. We'll definitely be using them again. read more
