First the good. Best price around Panama City for pontoon boat rental. Got the 75 hp boat because we read some complaints about how slow the 40 hp boats were. Turns out that our 75 hp was just as slow as the all the 40 hp boats we were chasing that day because our 75 hp was COVERED in barnacles and our friend cut her toe on them climbing the ladder on the back. The biggest disappointment was that you're not allowed to go into the gulf! I understand why now but that's not disclosed anywhere on the website or brochure. We did a private 2-hr boat trip for dolphin watching and snorkeling and had a great time. Our Captain (Justin) was fabulous! We got to choose our own tunes and he personalized the trip to make it special for my little one. We got to see plenty of dolphins, a shipwrecked schooner, some sea turtles, and had the opportunity to snorkel with the sand dollars. Their boats are very well-maintained and comfortable. They all come with very easily accessible ladders making it easy to get in/out to snorkel. We're experienced boaters but staff were great explaining everything in detail including where to find the best snorkeling spots for sea life. Plenty of parking (under trees for shade). Well stocked with supplies for purchase if you forgot to bring anything. It's also very conveniently located close to the end of the no wake zone so you can get to the open waters quicker. read more

My wife and I booked our 3 Hour Shell Island Dolphin Boat Tour on April 25, 2024. Our guide/boat captain was Captain Stan. The WHOLE EXPERIENCE was FANTASTIC!! We HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you request Capt. Stan for your adventure. He is very knowledgeable in Dolphin (and Turtle) behavior, and knows exactly where to go and what to do to make sure you have the best possible experience swimming with the Dolphins. He also made it possible to see a large turtle come to the surface. Capt. Stan is happy to share his wealth of knowledge, you will learn things you never knew about Dolphins, Turtles, and other sea life in the area. We were also very impressed to see how Capt. Stan communicated with other boat captains in the area to share the location of dolphins, and even arranged for the pass-by of a very large speedboat so we could watch dolphins at play jumping in the boat's wake. The pontoon boats are Tri-hulls and easy to navigate. We have never owned a boat and only use one when we rent here. We love going to Shell Island for sitting on a secluded beach. We went all over the bay area mainly looking at the large homes on the shoreline. Just a great escape day boating which we never do except when we come to Lagoon Pontoons. read more

Everything was super easy, from the booking to arriving and getting the paperwork done. They have giant carts to load gear from your car to the boat. They have a giant map to help navigate to the best spots. Shell island was great, we caught tons of crabs, found awesome shells and had a blast. Only suggestion is try avoid wakes from the large boats if you're not super comfortable driving a pontoon. But even if you're a rookie there is nothing to worry about! read more

Did a jet ski tour with 8 skis and 16 riders. Guide was awesome, entire group was able to go as fast as skis allowed (45 mph). Teens with us considered highlight of our vacation. Shell beach didn't really have a lot of shells but the skis more than made up for it. Great overall experience. read more

UPDATE: The company reached out to me apologizing for the situation and indicated this issues would be addressed to avoid in the future and refunded a portion of the rental fee. THAT is good customer service. I would use this outfit again if ever in the area. This is a great outfit with really nice boats. However, there needs to be close checks on all the pertinent equipment. Everyone was polite and friendly and fairly helpful when launching. The pontoon boats looked to be brand new and appear to be well maintained. But, the reason this isn't a five star review is the oversight to check that the stairs have not been bent to where they will not fit in the slots to deploy. I was on a two week trip traveling to see family in Destin. Panama City was a pit stop. I decided instead of the packed ferry to shell island I would splurge and rent a pontoon boat $$$, even though it was just me. I landed at my first spot where there were big beautiful driftwood type trees uprooted and some beach. I anchored excited to explore but the stairs would not line up to be able to use. I struggled on and off for quite some time and finally wedged it in, but pinched my fingers in the interim. Waves wound up pushing the boat sideways and they came out. I managed to get them in one more time with a lot of maneuvering. But I then later I couldn't get them out. I sat in one spot, really annoyed until I decided to push the boat into deeper water to see if that would help. Finally they came out with quit a bit of struggling and whacked my shin in the process. I then had to push the boat towards the beach so I could get back in from the bow; not an easy feat at my age physical issues. The next stop I hooked one side in and put the other behind the slot hoping that would hold. I was able to get in the water, but upon trying to climb back up, that side slid and I banged my shin again. I finally gave up the time consuming, frustrating, sweaty attempt to get the stairs useable and wound up having to belly flop on to the bow and only able to dock in shallow water to hoist my 64 year old body with permanent injuries up on the boat. This was for three of the four hours left in what would have otherwise been an epic day. When I arrived back at the dock I told them there was a problem with the stairs. They checked it out and sure enough they couldn't get them in the slot and said that it was probably left down by the last renters and bent. And while they seemed somewhat apologetic, they quickly diverted the issue by asking "but did you have a good time." Yes, I did. But the annoyance and struggle throughout the day dealing with the stairs stole a lot of that fun away. For negating this important issue and not doing anything to assuage my frustration other than switching the subject and taking my generous tip, I only give four stars. The stairs are just as much a safety feature as is the other requirements. Make sure they are functioning before sending the boat out. And if someone has an issue with a boat that greatly affects their enjoyment, do something other than brushing it off. read more

We rented a large pontoon for the day for the 11 of us and we were very happy with the whole experience. Checkin was easy, there was ample parking to fit our 14 seater transit van, the staff was very good at explaining how to drive the boat and what to do and not do, and the boat was very spacious with an upper deck and 2 slides. We were able to be on our way by 8:45 am and we returned it a little early around 5 pm for a full day of fun. Shell island is a must do if you're in town as it's very scenic and clean with fine soft white sand and not heavily populated with people. In fact if you go to the furthest end when we went, we had the whole beach to ourselves. It was so worth the rental and the trip. read more

Had an absolute blast Labor Day weekend (Saturday) on a guided Jet Ski Tour, with Tour Guide Cody. It was a fairly large jet ski group, sold out at 8 I think, and he still had us ZOOMing, a ton of places to go flat out, trying to get up to their max speed of 50mph, which we did quite a few times --absolutely exhilarating. It was ROUGH out, 2 of the jet skis that were inexperienced even said nope and bailed, and Cody had to escort them back. But he warned us all at the start that it was very choppy and bumpy out there, we would be getting thrown around a bit, and having to haul a$$ around all the traffic--but was an intensely fun time! Not for the faint of heart, I couldn't imagine any first timers going out, almost got thrown a dozen times from the rough waves, but that's half the fun. All of us that remained had been on them before, and there were a few that had grown up on jet skis and were really good, and I don't profess to be an expert by any means, but even those seasoned veterans said it was pretty rough out. Of course this is the weather we had, so it is going to be different for everyone, I would maybe call ahead and ask them what the water is like if you're new/inexperienced. Cody was a blast as a tour guide, he honesty told us that we probably wouldn't see any dolphins because of the recent hurricane, all the boat traffic from the busy weekend, and the horribly murky water because of the storms, but he seriously made up for it with the fun ride-- and who cares when you're blasting through waves catching air at 49mph lol?? That was way more fun than searching for Flipper. We stopped for a quick break on Shell Island --the water on the gulf side is INSANE, so gorgeous and clear, (we saw a sea turtle and a giant crab the size of a plate, should be a stop for everyone visiting PCB). 30 minutes to catch you breath/cool off in the gulf, and then back on for more fun. I can't tell you what a blast we had, highly recommend this for those looking for some thrills, and Cody really was excellent-- I hope his boss gives him a pack of beer for giving his customers such an entertaining 2 hours. Will definitely go again next time, and will be the highlight of the trip like it was this time! *Don't forget to tip your tour guide at the end --so bring cash! *There's a compartment for phone/wallets in a "dry" space *Bring sunblock & reapply when stopped *Bring flip flops/shoes for walking around shell island, it can cut up your feet (store them in the compartment) *Don't wear a hat, it WILL be gone *Don't wear anything that you don't want to lose *Bring sunglasses-for salt water and sun in the eyes *Don't be the slowest one of the group (holds everyone up and is not fair to everyone else who has paid good money to go fast) *Stay 7 seconds apart (they will insist on this distance) *Tip! read more
