Since the beginning of this year, I have been trying to schedule an appointment. Instead of helping me move forward, the assistant told me that Dr. Holamandara would not see me until I had an MRI. She instructed me to ask my primary care physician to order it. That made no sense because the specialist is the one requesting the MRI and should be responsible for providing the appropriate referral or coordinating the necessary steps. Because I had previously seen Dr. Pativanda for the same condition, I was then told that they would contact Dr. Pativanda's office to request the MRI referral. That was over four months ago. Since then, I have called both offices every couple of weeks asking for an update. Dr. Holamandara's office and Dr. Pativanda's office are located directly across from each other in the same building, yet no one seems able to communicate or provide answers. Neither office has followed up with me, returned my calls with a solution, or taken ownership of resolving the issue. The lack of communication, coordination, and accountability has delayed my medical care for months. As a patient, I should not have to spend months chasing down referrals and repeatedly calling multiple offices just to get a simple answer. Patients deserve timely communication, clear guidance, and staff who are willing to help instead of passing responsibility to someone else. I hope this office improves its patient care and communication because no one seeking medical treatment should have to go through this experience.

Paid my copay as noted on the health system's website, and why I chose this location and Ravalin. Weeks later, I received an invoice/bill for amount owed and I questioned why as I paid my copay for visit. Upon further review, the visit was noted as outpatient. I only went to address knee pain. 10 mins, nothing other than- go get an xray and he advised of a surgeon in region. My primary care could have done. When I sent a message questioning cost and notation as an outpatient visit, I was met with hostility, oh well, "they asked for me to see you"- of which I sought out appointment on my own through insurance copay, and last message from Ravalin stating he was not responsible for my arthritis in my knees. I woulld absolutely not recommend this practice at all. Lack of cost transparency, lack of medical professionalism when questioning cost, and misappropriately noting a visit as outpatient and invoicing for over 5 times the cost of copay. He is a liar, rude, condescending, and professionally inappropriate. I will be reporting to my insurance and medical group. What could have been a good start towards addressing my medical need, it has turned out to be a disturbing situation and to some degree, medical malpractice.

The person managing appointments Lisa is a complete nightmare, she is rude, condescending, not helpful and not professional. It is really terrible scheduling appointments or even asking questions. I have never felt so disrespected in my life. If you want to be disrespected and spoken down too then go to Pacific Coast Orthapedics for help. You will get great medicial attention but you will pay the price to get that service. I have dealt with them on several occasions and had surgery that required multiple visits. This is not a one off moment. Lisa is constantly awful.

He stated that my MRI was not that bad and he felt that since I did not get relief from my previous injection, the issue was with my back. I told him I knew it was my hips and that after having two back surgeries I knew it was not my back. He did not care about my level of pain. I was in and out with no help or solid plan in a few minutes. He dismissed me completley. His office kept calling to schedule my back MRI and I declined. My pain managment doctor also disagreed with him, and he's in the same office. He wrote me a referral to Stanford. Fast forward less than four months later- Had my hip replaced at Stanford by Dr. Lipof. He said in addition to other issues, tears, etc. my labram had become detached and was just laying on the socket, one of the worst he has ever seen. I had presented all of the symtpons to Dr. Meckel. Get second or third opinions until you find someone who will take you seriously and don't give up until you find the right solution for you. I suffered with debilitating back issues/pain for several years, floating from doctor to doctor, looking for any type of relief. I was lucky enough to get an appointment rather quickly with Dr. Halamendaris. Within 5 minutes of meeting him, and his review of my most recent MRI, he opined that I can continue to do the things I am trying to make work, but nothing will "fix" me without surgery. I said let's do it. Surgery was done 3 weeks later and I woke up from surgery and have been 100% pain free from that day. I am so appreciative of Dr. Halamendaris and the outcome of this surgery. I cannot recommend him strongly enough.
