Something like three from me; this can be somewhat of a honey hole for bargain hunters but there's also plenty of misgivings not including parking, which sucks. You'll see what I mean. Can anyone say free for all? I almost always pay gringo prices here, or err how to put it, somehow I end up paying more than marked or advertised unless I make an issue of it, which I usually don't do just to avoid the hassle but I do notice and it's consistent. So far as thrift stores go, and I travel around the country a lot, prices are sort of high-ish, and I don't know why given they get this stuff for freeeeeeee but whatever. Is what it is, though I do wish more people had yard sales. That said, despite all the eBay poshmark letgo/offer up facebook market place flippers shopping here, I've still found some treasures. The woman who worked in here seriously hated her job. She was rude from the start when I asked if I could set my items in the counter for a minute. When I checked out I had several breakable items and she packed them all in to one bag and handed them to me without even offering to wrap them. I asked for a few pieces of paper she had in a large tote behind the counter to wrap my items in and she threw a news paper on the counter and rolled her eyes. They overprice the heck out of things. SHEIN for $15 fashion nova for $25. I tried to buy a hoodie and they charged me for it as a jacket and explained it is closer to a jacket than a sweatshirt when pricing. I told her I didn't want it. I bought a tank top (2.50) and she sold it to me as a dress (6.50) but I liked the tank top enough that I didn't put it back this time. One lady who works here will run around all day yelling about parking and telling people they're going to get towed. I don't know what in particular has created this personality type, that they take the pricing personally as if they were the clerks items herself and she needs every dime she can get from them, and that the people who shop here are inconveniences, but it is what it is. read more

I wish zero stars were an option! The management is terrible at this location. The tall white lady creates the worst atmosphere. Someone needs to train her in customer service, she is a miserable woman. I donated a bunch of items and she grabbed them from my hands as I was placing them on the donation table! Especially the taller blonde lady who walks around the store constantly upset telling customers what not to be doing. I enjoy shopping here but my trips are always ruined when coming into contact with her and the negatIve atmosphere she brings. More like 3 1/2 stars... as this was one of the better Salvation Army stores I've been in recently. It was a little further along -- that is further south than I'd realized -- heading towards key west. In fact, it's after you go over the 7 mile bridge. But it was a gorgeous day for a drive. The outside of the store says "Family Store" in really big letters painted on the front. The Salvation Army "shields" are much smaller on the windows and harder to see as you drive by. When you walk in, it looks like it's just a store of used clothes. I wasn't looking for anything in this area, so at first I was a bit disappointed. But the store is much bigger inside. And there's a large back room with furniture, China, bric a brac, household goods, electronics, and even Christmas stuff. The back room is where you should head if you're an inveterate thrift shop shopper. I had to walk around all the shelves a couple times as there were items on the very bottom shelves that I realized I'd missed. And each time I saw something different. No, I still haven't found my "cup of joe" diner mugs or my replacement juice glasses, yet. But it's fun looking. I did find the perfect mesh metal strainer though. It's not quite what I wanted to replace my plastic one, but it's moving in the right direction. And for only $2, I couldn't resist the bargain. I'm sure if I'm in the area, I'll make it a point to visit here, again, in the future. And it's an easier stop on the way back from key west. read more

The parking situation is awful, and the drop off part is toward the back with a very narrow drive so you have to back out. Other than that fairly clean and organized. read more

I shop there because I like the hunt for just that right something. But, twice now the ladies that run or work at the store have told us not to park in the handicap spot because we don't have the blue placard in the window. Now here in Florida when you are a disabled Vet you get special license plates, not a placard. They literally argued with my husband and when he quite loudly informed the of his right as a disabled Vet they told him to get out. The other time was when we were in my car and yes I had the blue placard but it sits on my dash as it constricts my view out the windshield. Again they argued they could not see it so I had to leave or move. Each time we didn't leave or move but continued to shop while they followed us and gave us dirty looks the entire time. Never once did they go out and check. These women are down right hateful people and whoever actually runs this store needs to let these horrible women go. The discrimination of this establishment is down right disgusting. Don't have disability and try to park in their lot. read more

Ran in to look for life jackets and came out with a swimsuit. The price sheet says 'Women's Swimsuit 1-PC $3.50 and 2-PC $6.50'. I think 'Sweet! Great deal for this super cute one piece I found.' Get to the register and she says '$6.50'. I say 'Oh your prices says that a one piece is $3.50.' She walks around the register holds up the top 'bra section' to a swimsuit and says 'This is a one piece. What you have is two pieces because you're getting the top and the bottom.' The manager walks around this location muttering to himself and being unreasonable with prices. He will post the new price for something completely destroyed and it will sit on the shelf for months until parts are missing or it is broken and has to be tossed. "Boutique " clothing rack includes Route 66 and Faded Glory. They literally have underwear with stains and holes for sale. The back room looks like an episode of Hoarders. I'm pretty sure the manager is one. If you are looking to pay $60 for a beat up Breadman missing the paddle, this place is right up your alley. read more

Clothes here, not surprisingly, tend to be summer wear, a lot of t-shirts and summer shirts and things commemorating things like sports tournaments such as softball benefits (or church events) and free shirts bartenders receive to advertise liquor or beer. Ms. G occasionally gets lucky with clothes. I agree with another reviewer that the clothes tend to be "junky;" clothing portion of store is small and very "hit or miss." Occasionally, once every great once in a while, I will get lucky and find a vintage piece. They have a lot of books and, for the size of the store, a lot of housewares and electronics. Unfortunately though the Marathon store closed a couple years ago this one did not improve. read more

Every time we come to the area, we visit this little thrift shop in the Keys. We are never disappointed! We found a beautiful Pottery Barn comforter set, a Hummel figurine and lots of nice adult clothes and shoes this time. It's not great in the children's clothes or toys, but every trip ends up in a treasure! read more
