I love the Salvation Army on Racetrack Road. They have a little bit of everything, and the employees are very helpful and friendly. And it's clean, neat and orderly; some of them are not. I used to love this store before Covid. It's under new management and the prices are high. It also prices things and they sit on the floor for weeks. I asked and they informed me upper management would rather throw it in the garbage than price it to move for the good of the community. I'll donate to blessings that actually helps. This is a small location. It's a little too cluttered for me though. I've been here twice now and the best thing I can say is that the employees brought this from a ! 1/2 Star to a 3 Star. They actually have some nice items, just getting to them is an issue for me once I encounter clutter. They keep the nice jewelry and designer handbags at the front counter. I enjoy going in second hand stores because it is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get. This day I found an edge for two dollars, a tent thing for a dollar I have yet to put together (might be some sort of awning, and an extra set of measuring cups, because I'm always leaving my in the flour, sugar, oats, rice, or what ever else I'm using. Even though am only giving this store two stars, I still plan on visiting because I can find some good stuff. Why the two stars you might ask. The organizations is a bit ramshackle even for a second hand store. The non clothing items are just for the most part piled up in a general area with out much thought to organization. The clothing while loosely organized by gender (but not always) is jammed not he racks so tightly it is difficult to pull items off the rack. The second reason for two stars is that the store especially the changing room is quite dingy. There is a big stain in the changing room and it kind of stinks of sewer at times. In summary, visit this store because you just might find a gem, but be prepared to meander through the quagmire. read more

This store is about the size of a garage & a hoarders paradise. The item quality/selection reminds me of a deceased grandma's closet who was in assisted living for about 15 years so alot of her things are outdated & since her kids don't have the heart to throw away her stuff they bring it down to salvation army. Im used to thrifting thru other people's previously worn wears but I felt icky touching some stuff. Anyway what do i know another man's trash is another woman's overpriced treasure. read more

When I arrived the place was packed with furniture, nick nacks & great finds, the lady up front was so sweet & helpful. I've read previous reviews stating of how unorganized it was, not when I went in 3 weeks ago. I popped my head in on Saturday & it was totally wide open, the furniture that was all in the front end of the store was sold & pillow etc were in large white bags. I hope this makes it to the right person that can make corrections! I have purchased things from this store for the past 4 to 5 years & have noticed that certain people get to pick over items before they are put on the floor for sale. Example: I was in there around 2:30 pm Tuesday 2/27/18 & noticed a man coming from the back where it is noted employees only, he brought two nice compound bows & a set of golf clubs to the counter to purchase (I would like to have had the opportunity to purchase one of the bows for my grandson), while he was writing out a check I overheard the employee/cashier lady say you are going to get me fired & they laughed. What I am saying is that I have observed similar things in the past while in the store. I do not think it is wright for the good items to be picked over & put the junk out for sale. I have donated a lot of items to this location & have noticed some of the nice items have never made it to floor for sale (not again). One thing I can say for Goodwill is for the most part they seem to be more strict & not allow their employees do this. I have noticed this seems to have gotten worst since Rick has retired, I'm sure this probably happened while he was there but like I said the quality of items that make it out to be sold has decreased while the prices have increased. If I have noticed this I am sure others have also. Thanks, & hope this will be corrected. read more
