After driving 40 minutes from East Atlanta to visit Lingering Memories Antique Mall in Conyers, GA, I asked to use the restroom. I was told "it was out of order for the day & hopefully would be repaired soon". This is obviously not true & this store does not have a public restroom for customers. When we first walked in I thought the place was terrific. I was impressed with the parking meter for sale (only 5 cents per hour .... so it was definitely old) and by some ruby glassware and beautiful clocks. "Not much schlock," I said to T. But I kept walking, and realized this place -- like other antique malls -- is only as good as what its vendors sell. And there was a lot of stuff that was nothin'-with-nothin'. Some booths were so crowded with furniture, it was difficult to check out items on the periphery without asking for help. Would I come back? Yup, if I'm in the area. It wasn't my first time in Conyers. I have yet to write a review of the Cracker Barrel that I visited. All in all, I think Conyers is sort of a country town, even though I plan to visit the shopping center on whatever that street was. I'll have to get back to you on that. Lingering Memories seems to be a bit off the beaten path, I wonder if the traffic I encountered on Good Friday was a holiday thing. At first glance, you may drive past it. It looks like any old antique shop. But if you are in the area, I would urge you to stop in. It is way bigger inside than it looks from the street. Basically, people that have things to sell rent a spot and there is everything from new merchandise to old Jimmy Hendricks albums. There is furniture, wicker, art, jewelry...a lot of stuff. If you want to window shop without the windows and the annoyance of someone following you around while ou take your sweet time to peruse.....this a a great place to go. I know, I know.."Conyers?" you say. Yeah, but...there ya go. I rented a spot to sell my things (new stuff) and I will go back soon to add more stuff. I plan on keeping the spot and getting more spots at other antique type shops. This was a decent place to start. If you are in the area, and are a peruser....you should stop in. read more

Every now and then after leaving spin class at LA Fitness, I stop by lingering memories and ALWAYS seem to get caught up by their vast collection of treasures. BEWARE!!!! I took something in that was sterling silver to see how much I could get for the silver melted. I was offered $100.00. I decided that seemed low and decided to leave. I went to two other places and received prices of $483.00 and $800.00. I also had some silverware with me and was told that i could get $700.00 for the silver or it could be put on ebay and sold separately. I was also told that there was nothing on ebay to compare my silverware with. I found that hard to believe, so when I got in my car I looked it up on my phone. There were over 900 matches for that exact silverware. A full set which is what I have was $3,000.00. The silverware I was told at two other places was worth over $2,000.00 if I melted it. Please do your research before you go. I was told these people were honest and that I could trust them and that is NOT true!!!!! read more

If you're into antiques and collectibles then this place is for you! I go here every week or two when I have a day off. Next to Hooters on Iris Dr., it's pretty easy to find. The place is deceptively big considering that it looks pretty small from the outside. Lingering Memories is the biggest and best antique shop in town, and the only one you don't have to go to Old Town (and struggle to find parking) for. Parking is ample, and the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The gentleman who is usually behind the counter is always sure to inform me of any specials or sales they have going on. I go here to add to my vinyl collection quite a bit, and he didn't hesitate to tell me that most of them were 75% off on that day! They have several sections of vinyl. Nothing crazy special, most of the titles are what you'd expect to find in an antique shop, but I always seem to come across a diamond in the rough, and always for a pretty good price. Besides records, they have tons of antique furniture, other collectibles, civil war stuff, coke stuff, sports memorabilia, and other cool vintage stuff. If you're in the Conyers area, and like to shop at places like this, you should definitely stop by! read more
