Oops I did it again!…read more I love antique clocks (and antique/ vintage items in general) even though I dont have anywhere to put them all out in my house, but yesterday, I picked up this beautiful antique mahogany clock. I believe that it may be a Junghans German shelf clock. (Possibly a "Biedermeier style"?) clock with a dark reddish mahogany case and a beveled glass door. It has a wonderful deep toned strike on the hour and half hour. I found this gem at Second & Main and it's sister store Apparitions Vintage Village which is owned by an old high school friend Robin Sowers. This store has a little bit of everything from classis records, vintage items, and locally crafted items as well! Be sure and check them out!

I have tried to come shop at this store 3 different times. They have different business hours…read moreposted on their google than when you call their store. I tried to go in to the store today the 29th due to the fact that they were closed the 27th and the 28th for thanksgiving (understandable obviously) but they are supposed to have opened at 10 am and here I am at 3 pm heartbroken by the fact the door was in fact locked... A girl just wants to shop for some lightly used furniture for her apartment. This store is my biggest OPP until I can finally find a day that they are miraculously open. I stopped at this Goodwill in Kentucky to see if I could find some shot glasses for an upcoming…read moreparty. The Goodwill is laid out like most Goodwills with clothes and housewares. We were greeted by the nicest clerk when we entered. He was engaging and helpful. I would say the service says this Goodwill above others. I didn't find my shot glasses but I did find a souvenir plate from Indiana that I snagged for only 99 cents. I saw restrooms in the rear of the store. There is plenty of parking in their shared lot.

I found out there was another consignment shop in Richmond because I got lost looking for something…read moreelse. A very fortunate mistake on my end! The shop owners are two older women, very sweet and kind. I felt as though I was shopping with my own grandma. The selection is a bit more mature than I prefer, but we did find some Torrid and Lularoe pieces. You can tell they take great pride in their business and are very connected to their customers. All in all, and excellent store.

I prefer taking my donated items to the Salvation Army vs. Goodwill. My donated items are handled…read morewith care instead of being thrown into a giant cardboard box that is kept outdoors. The Salvation Army Stores are very clean, well-organized, a good variety. The salespeople are professional, so that I don't feel like I am at a flea market. This is a good place for families to shop, especially when they are living on a stretched budget.

Some jewelry, some of everything. It's more comfortable & private than many places. We enjoyed shopping together. Someone has a green thumb & I wish they sold plants & unusual planters here. Not traditional for sure, and I always find a small item that adds a splash of color and uniqueness to my home. Most prices are pretty reasonable. They also have an extensive vintage clothing selection. They have a lot of art and modern prints. They get new inventory often and do great Instagram sales as well. They do Venmo sales. And they have a ton of plants and planters; I wish I had a green thumb because their stock is amazing. Just today, I learned one of their plants in the store is reported to have lived with a couple for over 50 years. The owners are young, hip, creative, and very nice. They are taking social distancing and cleanliness seriously. This is in my top two or three shopping spots in Lexington.
