We stumbled upon Sam & Louie's by pure luck! Located in the charming downtown of Sterling, across the street from the beautiful County Courthouse. Everything about the evening was perfect! We shared a Margherita pizza with added pepperoni and two side salads. The crust is homemade and hand tossed. We sat in the bar with our service dog. Mo looked after us and told us about the town and area. Mo brought a bottle of honey and suggested we pour it over the pizza crust. It tasted like a sopaipilla! A delicious dessert! If we're back in the area, we'll definitely stop again!

They did Apologize that evening and fix the problem, posted below. I tried to order the tuesday special online. It would NOT except the discount code " tuesday " ( Tried a couple months ago, same thing and I told them about it ) So I ordered on the phone. The special is $15.00 x 2 + $30. ( with tax $32.10 ) The man on the phone said it comes to $34.40 So I ask to see what he is charging me for 1 pizza. He says $13.20. so I say it says $15.00, but ok. So I tell him $13.20 x 2 + $26.40 + Tax $28.25. As I try to explain this to him, he says it is correct and its $34.40 Again I ask what is 1 pizza and he say $13.20 so then I say what is 13.20 and 13.20 2 Pizzas He says $34.20 and he is correct. So i guess there is no arguing or explaining to someone like that, so I had to hang up the phone.

I just love this Italian style brick layered pizzeria. You will find fabulous street side parking right downtown on Main Street. As I approached the restaurant I noticed multiple customers enjoying the outdoor seating area which is slightly set back behind a black fence and a brick archway that holds USA and runs along the side walk. The open concept, rustic style was alluring and I couldn't wait to look around. Yep, I spotted the gorgeous bar and dining area on the bar side. The main dining area featured hightop tables and some booths. I just love theses large tables for dining. I ordered the pretzel bites for an appetizers, the lasagna and a side salad with butter garlic bread. The pretzels bites were melt in your mouth amazing and the cheeses sauce was just as tasty. The lasagna was so fresh and the pasta cooked perfect. Stacked with a flattering sauce and melting cheese with plentiful herbs and a garlic blast! A delightful italian dish for sure. The food temperature was perfect, just enough to eat your meal comfortably. The wait staff was pleasant but not so much engaging. Great place for gatherings or just my yourself. Thank you for a pleasant evening.

This place is a wonderful warm environment. Amazing service. The staff know how to be respectful and funny. Let's not forget the food! Food is tasteful and delicious!

Parts and Labor Brewing Company was a complete disappointment. We stopped in just before 9:30 PM…read morehoping for wings and a beer, only to be turned away despite plenty of customers still dining inside. Apparently serving paying customers a few minutes before closing was too much to ask. My reply to the owner... Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, your response reinforces the concerns I expressed in my original review. Rather than addressing the customer experience, you chose to dismiss it by focusing on the time we arrived and by implying that my review was the result of me "needing a great day." That kind of sarcasm does not reflect the level of professionalism customers should expect from a business owner. You stated that you personally saw us enter at 9:40 PM and that the kitchen had already closed at 9:30 PM. However, I take accuracy seriously, and I do not appreciate being misrepresented. I have a screenshot documenting the time I left your establishment, which directly contradicts the timeline presented in your response. If the facts are important enough for you to publicly defend your business, they should also be important enough to present truthfully. To be clear, businesses have every right to establish kitchen hours and closing procedures. Had the situation simply been explained professionally and courteously, my review likely would have reflected that. What stands out is not the policy itself, but the way concerns were handled afterward. I travel extensively throughout the United States and internationally, reviewing small family-owned businesses because I genuinely enjoy supporting them. In many cases, when an owner responds thoughtfully and demonstrates a commitment to customer service, I am willing to reconsider or update a review. In this case, however, instead of leaning into customer service and understanding, you chose to defend, justify, and direct sarcasm toward a customer. I can accept mistakes. What I have a much harder time accepting is dishonesty. The screenshot of the time I left your establishment speaks for itself. I wish you and your business the best, but I stand by my review. To make matters worse, we had a similar experience elsewhere in Sterling when a Sonic employee snapped at us for trying to place an order. Thankfully, Village Inn restored a little faith in customer service with friendly staff, welcoming patrons, and genuine hospitality. If you're traveling through town, don't expect Parts and Labor to go out of its way for customers. We were in and out in under a minute--with nothing but a bad impression to take with us.

I see reviews where this place was busy...not today. 10am on a Saturday morning and I'm the only table. CU game is on so maybe everyone is watching the game? Edit: that's not the case. I drove by J&Ls and it was full, as was village inn. I'm not a coffee snob and lived off shite hotel coffee for months. This coffee was garbage...watery. When I mentioned it, and asked for a cup when there was a fresh pot, they replied, "that's the only coffee we have". The Huevos wasn't awesome but the ham on top, they griddled/grilled and that part was great. Anyway, This place is authentic in service only.

Barely see any places use paper straws anymore, yet here you can find them... love the old school touch... The Good: This seems to be the place for all the locals to go for lunch and you can feel it in the welcoming atmosphere. As out of towners we didn't get any funky looks but instead we treated as if we come here twice a week. Our son's Mexican Burger was very delicious and my wife's Gourmet Grilled Chicken Salad did not disappoint at all either. The Bad: My Taco Salad was more of a ground beef salad with tortilla chips and salsa in the side. It was a well tasting salad, yet not earning the Mexican part if it at all. The dressings on my wife's Gourmet Grilled Chicken Salad were also pre packaged and that surprised us a bit as most places like this take pride in making dressings from scratch. The Ugly Truth: We were very delighted with the welcoming smiles and large portions of mouth watering options for our lunch stop. We will definitely consider stopping in again if we pass through when they are open (see the bfast and lunch open times) it would have earned a 5 star plus if the Taco Salad would have had some type of Mexican taste to it. That being my disappointment dropped it to 4 stars. Looking around all the other plates in front of happy customers we saw, the portions on all meals were more then plenty to calm your hungry stomach. Enjoy if you decide to drop in...

A time of when expectation is simple, and it comes with a smile. What meets the eye is 60's ambiance, and it doesn't feel staged. Seating, tables, light fixtures all blend to give you the feel of your small town, main street cafe. A memory from your youth. With that memory comes anticipation of a satisfying hearty meal. Simple straight forward food that'll fill the void and send you back to reality happy, well fed, and wondering if it was all a dream. It isn't a dream folks. The food is indeed hearty and very tasty. There's a lot of it too. You won't go away hungry. My meal was outstandingly delicious. Home cooked to perfection. I was tempted to choose a selection from the dessert display to top off the experience, but my waistline, and my girlfriends side eye moved me in the opposite direction. Next time through Sterling, I'll start with dessert. Quick Tip: Don't wear fancy clothes to the Village Inn. I didn't and was rewarded by getting only one spot on my pants. My chopped steak was so tender, that when cutting, I over compensated thinking that it would be tough. A chunk slid off my plate and onto my pants.
