The level of customer service started off great all the way through me asking questions on the quote they gave me. I ask if I could get the parts ordered and have it delivered to them would that be ok since they wanted to charge me $465 for parts and I could get them for $250. I also inquired on what the hourly rate is and how many hours the three items to repair would take since the labor they were charging was $1,900. I have work with many automotivevrepair shops in the past and the labor quote seemed extremely high. At that point they got rude a d told me good luck and cone and get your car. I let them know that I told them I would be out of town for work and could pick it up on Monday since I was getting back in town after they closed Friday a d then I was told they will charge me $100 per day it stayed there. My wife doesn't drive a manual transmission and I'm 4 hours away I had to find someone to get the vehicle. Then I let them know I found someone to pick it up and he will pay with a credit card since they avceot card and then I was told it has to be cash. I had to inconvenience someone to know stop and get cash. They did mention a discount if paying with cash that I didn't get either. So all said and done they wanted to charge me a total of $2,400 and with me ordering the parts and going to another mechanic I'm getting it done fjr $1,200. I brought a diesel vehicle in because of a DPF issue and they wanted like 350$ to DIAGNOSE the thing, then tried to explain that "this is how business is done," "we've already started," and "if you don't use us, then good luck." He told me it would cost no less than 4,000 for the repair, I ended up getting it done for $1,600 by a specialized mechanic near LA. I later asked him to do a small job on it, and he said "I won't help you and refuse to touch your truck." Brought my truck in to get the AC fixed a few weeks ago. I was told that the truck passed all vacuum tests and dye tests, and was filled with Freon. I explained to the manager that I had been through this with a different shop in the past, and suggested that it may be the condenser. He assured me that a leak in the condenser would have been observed with the dye test. I dropped it off today, and now I'm told that the condenser is leaking. When I asked why that wasn't observed the first time, the manager could not give me an answer, and told me I'm a bad customer and to pick my truck up. read more

Recently asked if they could do front end work (bushings, end links, ball joints) on my early Camaro. Basically I was given the run-around. They said parts available was difficult, could take time to get them. Parts are available through many third party vendors, NPD, Classic Parts, etc. They also said it could take up to 6 months for the repair. The price quoted was $2500, the highest quote I received. RUN!! RUN!!! RUN!!! Sam was awesome - new ownership is NOT! Dave will SCAM you, raise prices and find more things wrong with your vehicle as other reviewers said. That whole "Christian" crap he likes to throw in people's faces? Hypocrite! Don't believe him and his crosses. He gloats about how he's a Christian man being the honest mechanic but he is NOT. He reminds me of Danny McBride - totally untrustworthy and stuff comes out of his mouth faster than he can process any truth and unblinking eyes. I have reported him. I am in the right and know my rights as a customer. All this guy does is try to compete with my hard times and tells me how he makes this and that, how much he pays his guys and gripes about how much he pays them "to push a broom around" and how much he pays Sam for business ownership. This guy has no right to take on an honest man's business. I listen VERY WELL and can catch lies, exaggerations and here's the situation: I had my dealer run a super expensive diagnostic all for an oil leak. Dave's sister-in-law was a young gal working for him and she was laid off. She had straight up lied to me giving me fluff how she trusts her mechanics and basically said any other mechanic is just out for money but not HER shop! Integrity is my #1 trait and I expect that out of others. Good mechanics are hard to find. I found a great one years ago, then he retired. I find another one, then he moved out of state. I went back to my dealership and the repair costs more than the car is worth. So I go back to this shop biting my nails. He happens to be buddies with a guy I felt was a scam who worked on my cable shifter. You are who you hang with. So I was told by the girl, Sarah that I should come in at 1pm and there will be a ride back to my home. There was at least 23 cars there - it is always packed here. These are Sam's leftover customers. I waited forever - Sarah wasnt there and Dave came out with this arrogant sense of himself and I asked, "Are you the mechanic?" He says, "No - I'm the owner." But apparently he is ALSO a mechanic but no clue why he was so cocky about it. He told me Sarah was taking a longer lunch than usual. So apparently their "ride" home is you take your own vehicle to your house and the receptionist drives your car back to the shop!! To make a very long story short - they couldnt get to my car until 2 days later, then I get a text around 2pm.....this is where my review stopped, as it was a draft for back in 2017. This guy is a LIAR too. I brought in my own oil, 6 individual quarts. My SUV takes 5.5 quarts. He claimed he used it ALL when I asked for the leftovers. He charged me $1300+ for just the valve cover gasket and arrogantly couldn't find the timing cover leaks as the other mechanics found and only changed the valve cover gaskets. His mechanic late verified I was right later when I complained and he didn't care. I reported him. Well the valve cover gasket oil leaked onto the alternator and failed on my way to court to sue him. I had to get a rebuilt one and it failed 3x, each time I had to pay the alternator guys and another mechanic to install it. I took this guy's ass to COURT and despite my evidence, time, money spent on gathering so much proof from other mechanics showing that valve cover gasket leaks cause alternators to burn out, despite proof that he didn't do anything to stop the leak, the ugly old female judge who always favors men (she lets rapists run free), let him go!!!!!! Wasted $1300 and guess what? The valve cover gasket still leaks!!! DO NOT TRUST this narcissist!! I'd say a class action lawsuit is in order. read more

they charged 201.00 to change an alternator (a NEW one that i supplied), on a 2002 Camaro, it took 5 hours to do it and i find out later the "book" time is .8 hours for the job - this equates to about 220.00 an hour for this service. this is an obvious ripoff and i will never use them again - or recommend them any more. they did "recommend" that i have both belts changed, at a cost of 132.00. the belts cost about 38.00 for new one (or 25.00 for the cheap ones) so they wanted 92.00 to change 2 belts! or 107.00 if they were to use the cheap ones! My car runs very well and if something that he replaced breaks will be under their warranty and will fix for free. They have a number to text if you prefer to communicate that way. I took my Car to them because of a shorted out inverter cooling pump that caused a 15 amp fuse to blow. The pump costs $40 and takes about an hour to install. I have replaced it before. They said it would cost $800. They also said I needed a new catalytic converter and that would be $2400. I cleared the error with my OBDII scanner, replaced the pump and am back on the Road. Only cost me $125 for the fuse. I was 170 miles from home and they wanted to charge me $45 a day for storage. Thanks to CKT Towing in Bakersville for letting me keep it at their yard at no charge until I could tow it home. They even gave me a free tow and didn't charge me for going over 7 miles with AAA. I hope they're on yelp because that's my next review. I respect that people need to make a living but can't respect overpricing. The guy that was putting a piece of the front bumper with an impact and cross threaded a bolt and I will need to fix that now. Maybe they are Prius or Berkeley student haters or knew I was from out of town. Don't break down in Buttonwillow if you can avoid it! read more

My car broke down on highway 99 during a road trip and the owner of the shop was able to squeeze me in to the front of the line. I had my vehicle towed and he put his mechanic on it right away. Unfortunately my engine was blown and needs to be replaced(luckily it's under recall with the dealer) which he called the dealer for me and got Information for me to take the next steps. He was so helpful and sweet. His wife even offered me a ride to my family who luckily lived nearby! I couldn't have asked for a better mechanic and experience. He was honest and reliable did not try to upsell me for anything or rip me off. Good people are hard to come by these days! Please go see him if you ever want a reliable honest mechanic shop. They fixed my rattling noise on my Chevy Cruze. This shop was very professional and honest.

I am not one to write yelp reviews but I had the absolute worst experience. Don't get me wrong everyone was extremely sweet and nice but overall I really got screwed over. I went in for a simple motor mount fix which was covered by my warranty. There was absolutely no noise when I brought my car in the only reason I knew my motor mounts were loose is because my car would jerk back when I put it in drive or reverse. I live out of town and I had to visit the shop at least 6 different times trying to get my car fixed. Originally they said they fixed my car and I was good to go and as soon as I left the shop I noticed my car was making a really loud rattling noise when I pressed my breaks, started my car, and occasionally when I was driving. I called and told them on a Friday morning and they said to come in and they'd check it out. I called out of work because it sounded unsafe to drive my car. I waited in Bakersfield all day until They closed only for them to tell me they didn't get the chance to even look at it and they couldn't look at it until Monday. The owner basically bullshitted me and said he could of bent my exhaust when they were working on it. Then went on to accuse me of "off roading" in my vw Jetta. I told them I had to take my car because I couldn't miss anymore work but that if anything happened they were going to be held responsible. Then they rudely threatened me if I was going to hold them accountable they'd hold my car until Tuesday when they could work on it. I went down and got my car after he bullshitted me some more. Finally a week later they got the part for my car and they said it was one of my motor mounts that needed to be changed?? Which is weird considering I took my car in to get those fixed In the first place and they supposedly already replaced them. After a few days they finally fixed it and the noise in my car is SO LOUD and WAY WORSE. It's so Loud and embarrassing and this noise was not happening at all before I took my car here. My car sounds absolutely awful and I have to wait a few weeks before someone else can look at it because I refuse to take it back to them because I'm honestly scared of what will happen next. Also one time when I took my car in I had half a tank and when I got my car back I was at 10 miles!!!! I went in for a simple fix and left with my car in a far worse condition and I have had to miss several days of work and they have added so much stress to my life. Sometimes you can't get in right away and may have to wait a day or two, but there is a reason this place has a waiting list and they're worth it! Dave the owner has on more than one occasion went above and beyond what any other Automotive shop would do to correct the problem with my cars and make things right. Dave always explains things well and always makes sure any work done is approved first. TL;DR unless you like paying 400% of retail price for parts and getting bait & switched, find somewhere else to get your car fixed. Got recommended this place because a coworker vouched that he has been going there since the 90s and that this shop is honest in its pricing and service. Boy does a change of ownership shake things up! I went there expressing that I wanted my spark plugs changed as 2 weeks prior my dealership quoted me $200 to get them fixed and the check engine light finally came on for it. They call later saying that along with my spark plugs needing to be replaced I also have a MAF sensor that needs replacing as well and that the total would be $335. Considering a MAF sensor is $100+ and including labor it seemed like a fair deal. Once I get my car back I look at the invoice and am shocked to see that they charged me $160 for 4 spark plugs!! These cost 9 dollars each at autozone or oreilly! The whole point of local shops is to pay a fair amount compared to dealerships, not charge me more! Then on top of that I check the invoice again and see they didnt even replace my MAF sensor but instead just cleaned it which is an incredibly deceptive bait and switch to throw me off the total ripoff price for the spark plugs! I absolutely despise dealership service centers but i'd recommend going to a dealership instead of this sketchy and deceptive place read more

My wife took my truck in for a simple inspection, transmission service, and for the spark plugs. Instead, they change the oil when the sticker showed it was only 1,000 miles past its last oil change, and charged $140 for it. Also, they replaced a brand new air filter and did almost nothing else. Dropped the car off and the receptionist said it would be ready around 1200; if anything changes she said she would call. I walked around the area waiting for an update or a call. I called and the gentleman who answered the phone said the receptionist and the mechanic were at lunch and he did not have an update for me. He said they would call when they got back from lunch. Finally get a call 45 minutes later from the time I called. I was furious to say the least. No communication and a lack of respect for the customer's time.
