When I expressed my concern and frustration, Kira said that since she was hired for day of, her talking to me two months prior to the wedding was a bonus that she was doing for me, and I should not expect to get a timeline until 2 weeks before the wedding. This seemed irresponsible to me, since when I booked her she had said she was free for calls and texts anytime leading up to the wedding. She said that I was unsympathetic towards personal things that came up for her. I felt like it was unprofessional for her to be telling me about personal things in her life that was causing a disruption in her ability to deliver upon her commitment as a coordinator. I ended up hiring a different coordinator who is also day-of. This coordinator said she always works with her clients 8 weeks before the wedding, creates the timeline 6 weeks beforehand, communicates with vendor 3 weeks beforehand and finalizes everything 1 week beforehand. This was exactly the kind of clarity and responsibility I wanted in a coordinator, and I am afraid that Kira did not deliver on this at all for me.
