Service was a self serve kiosk, however at handoff the guy is super easy going and friendly. Ordered the traditional, nothing fancy poutine, and was still wowed by it. Nice crisp fries and very good gravy. There was a hint of sweetness in it, which I want to say they put a dab of maple syrup in there recipe, but I'm not really sure! Anyways - will definitely find a chance to visit again on my next trip!

The serving is very nice and had good amount to share with my family too. We definitely needed to add the extra cheese for our preference. Fries were not exactly my favorite cut and felt more dry because of the potato skin. Parking is pretty difficult as there isn't a lot of available spots nearby. As for eating spaces, there are lots of seats outside the stalls. The indoor community center is also very nice place to sit. We went during the FIFA games and it was very fun to see an active audience in the community.

Order at the counter: Standard burger with fries, Curry & Goat cheese poutine, Classic Canuck pizza. Burger was good, juicy, soft bun, with standard toppings. Fries are good, fresh cut and well done. The poutine was amazing. Curry & Goat cheese really hits hard! This would be even better with chicken (next time). The pizza was amazing. The dough and sauce are made from scratch and it shows! Lots of cheese, the pull was crazy. This will be our new regular spot when in the St. Jacob's Market area!

I tried the Hogtown Poutine, because honestly...in terms of the original you can never beat La Banquise. It was definitely what I expected, fresh cut fries with awesome toppings such as meatballs, bacon, carmelized onions...oh, did I mention smoked bacon? Delicious! My only problem with this place is the gravy is sunk to the bottom. I'm used to the gravy on the top similar to other poutine places I've tried. Limited seating room, so take out is recommended. The fries were crispy (even with the gravy on them) and a had a lot of flavor with all the toppings. The cheese curds were done right good texture, weren't too hard or too soft. The prices were decent about $8-10 for a regular size dish and $13-$15 for a large size, WOW as they call it. The wait time wasn't bad for a Wednesday evening, the food was ready within a few minutes. The staff was friendly. Excellent overall experience, would recommend.

Philthy Philly's was one of them. This eatery is in Clarkson, just south of the GO station. Clarkson is growing on me as a neighbourhood. It is roughly twenty minutes away from my workplace, so it's quite a distance from my home. I drove over here after work on evening. I pulled into this plaza, which has a bunch of stores that I want to check out when I'm back. I parked and walked in. There is plenty of parking. There was one person placing an order. It was enough time for me to review the menu and figure out what I wanted to get. Philthy Philly's has recently introduced Broad Street burgers to its menu. I love a good burger, but I was craving a cheesesteak more. I was pleasantly surprised to see the Grow-Op burger, which is a veggie burger. The person helping me with my Groupon was helpful and cool. The redemption was straightforward. I ordered a regular cheesesteak. I got steak, with green peppers, onions, mushrooms, swiss cheese, and apple butter mesquite sauce. I also got a Phil-sized bacon poutine and a Diet Coke. I got my Diet Coke and waited for my order at a table. It gave me time to observe the artwork around me. My order was ready. I picked it up and thanked the guy. I was ready to chow down. I was hungry! The bacon poutine is the best at this Philthy Phil's. The bacon was crisp. The gravy was perfect, melting all the cheese curds into the perfect cheese pull with every fork helping. One word: fantastic! My cheesesteak was so good. It was my first time trying the apple butter mesquite sauce. It has so many complex layers of flavour. I loved that it was almost different with each bite. Yum! This place has a single women's washroom, which was spacious and clean. I saw two guys go into the men's, so I can't comment on that and don't want to speculate! I thanked the staff here when I left. It's my favourite Philthy Phil's so far in my cheesesteak journey within and around the GTA. (304)
