They told me that Auto Premiums with state farm in Oregon now increase $20 every six months whereas they used to not increase at all, regardless of accidents. Don't install the drive safe and save app. It's a scam. While it initially gave me a discount of 48.52, the next renewal period had me paying $20 MORE than I was paying BEFORE I got the drive safe and save app, with no accidents in between. They probably just want you to install the app so they can trap you into tracking your driving patterns. They initially told me it would only track mileage, but that was a lie. It tracks A LOT more than that: speed, left turns, right turns, stopping, accelerating, what time of day you drive, etc. Once they see how you drive (nobody is perfect in the app), they will find a way to charge you more than you would've been charged without the app.

Beware, the quotes provided by the agent don't mean anything after you pay in full for 6month/12 month policy terms even if there are no claims. The company removes discounts after you pay in full (or the agent misleads by adding discounts to win your business with a low quote with the intention of charging more?). The agent doesn't own the mistake, doesn't help to resolve issues, expects more money, and even worse doesn't care when the shady company cancels the fully paid policy much before the policy end date, uses the paid policy premium for unfair fees that it charges. By the way, for the renewal, the company expects payment one month in advance or one could incur late charges.
