It was leaving my children in someone else's care. After everything we've been through, my babies needed consistency. They needed to be safe. They needed to be loved. And I needed to know that while I was working to build a better future for us, they were somewhere their little hearts and minds would continue to grow. When I was 19, I worked at La Petite Playschool and Nursery. I remember how much everyone genuinely loved the children, how seriously we took our training, and how much care went into every single day. It never felt like "just a daycare." Over the years, Lisa became so much more than my former boss. She became someone I looked up to, someone who believed in me, encouraged me, and loved me through different seasons of life. So when it came time to choose childcare, my heart already knew where my children belonged. Watching Oliver and Juniper thrive has been one of the greatest gifts. They come home with stories, songs, artwork, new words, dirty clothes from playing hard, and smiles that tell me they had another day filled with love. They are learning, exploring, making friends, and being encouraged to be exactly who they are. As a single mom trying to build a new life through higher education, I simply could not do this without the people at La Petite. They have given me so much more than childcare. They've given me peace of mind. They've loved my children as their own while I sit in lectures, study for exams, and work toward becoming a nurse. There aren't enough words to thank you for believing in my little family. Thank you for every hug, every lesson, every scraped knee you've comforted, every milestone you've celebrated, and every day you've made it a little easier for me to chase a dream that will change all of our lives. My son still loves her and talks about her. The price was more than reasonable, and the vacations were workable. I especially appreciated the independent skills and support she and her team offered my kid - she helped him learn to walk, potty train, go to the bathroom by himself, and really critically, learn to be kind and caring to other kids. We will forever be grateful to her for her wonderful support in raising our sweet boy.

The teachers/caretakers are what make a school/daycare a good experience or not. Lori and Jessie have been the primary teachers and both are extremely dedicated and care a lot about the children. Lori has always gone the extra mile to keep me updated on my daughter. My daughter runs up to her excited every day. The daycare is tidy/orderly, they do a lot of crafts, they provide healthy snacks, if you forget your kids lunch they won't call you and tell you to bring something, they'll find something for them to eat, etc. They try to be as accommodating as possible. I do think they need another full-time teacher, for support, in case anyone gets sicks, and just to make things easier for them. I also think whoever owns LMA should be more involved in helping the Salem location grow.

The teachers are warm, attentive, and deeply understanding--they made both of my kids feel seen, safe, and loved every single day. The curriculum is thoughtful and well-balanced, blending play-based learning with foundational academic skills in a way that kept my children both engaged and challenged. I was always impressed by the healthy meals they provided, as well as the wide range of activities designed to nurture emotional, social, and intellectual growth. The play spaces are spotless and thoughtfully designed, and the fenced outdoor area is full of creative, fun structures that encouraged exploration and movement. Most importantly, my children loved going to school. They came home happy, enriched, and more than ready for kindergarten--confident, curious, and well-prepared.
