My son's white blood count was extremely high. He had extreme stomach cramps. He has an ileostomy which I believe from past experience he was suffering from some sort of blockage in his bowl. I believe from past experience that this contributed to the very high white blood count numbers and knowing from past experiences when he is throwing up so hard it gets into his blood stream which causes him to get sepsus. They sent him home because he was feeling better. His outpatient report under final impression Leukocytosis unspecified which in leman wording very high white blood count. read more

Parking is awful at the new hospital. It doesn't matter if there's curb side drop off when both parties need to go inside but are disabled or hurt. I suppose more revenue if they get more hurt or fall on the way in from the parking lot. Didn't think much through for a new and better start, because it already sucks. read more

I've had worse. It was fairly fast, however, they did next to nothing, if not nothing at all. Having difficulty breathing that worsens with muscle tension as I drive, came in the middle of night cause I had trouble making it all the way home from the last hospital I was at in Richland, and they discharged me without stablizing my condition. Im about to attempt a ride home, I get into a crash or die on the 2 and a half our journey, its on this hospital's head. Hopefully I dont crash into anybody. They said I could stay in the room till maybe about 6:30, but kicked me out after 13-17 minutes cause I was in pain, which is because they never treated my condition that is worsening by the day. Staff was great but this review is about the BILLING. Their fees are so out of control. A short visit less than 2 hours resulted in a $4650 bill for an EKG, labs and sitting in the hallway on a stretcher? I feel so sorry for those that have little to no healthcare available to them, as they need to decide on living or going to the doctor. How sad the system has become. read more

Hardly recent...I was born in this hospital 72 years ago (my Dad was stationed at Larson AFB). My Mom was re-paralyzed when she birthed me - third time for her, as she had sustained nerve damage with appendicitis surgery at age 16 and my older brother's birth at age 24. I apparently sustained some extreme pressure that mis-shaped my head and bruised my face, because when she became nearly hysterical when they would not show me to her, the staff said "Mrs H***, if you promise not to scream we will let you see Al*****." Needless to say - but, saying it anyway - both she and I rec'd excellent care at Samaritan! I know her life was worthwhile, I only hope I have lived a life so far that was worthy of their efforts. My mother just had a stomach surgery Monday morning at this hospital and let me tell you EVERYTHING and EVERYONE Was exceptional everyone from the amazing surgeon. Doctor Smith to the bedside staff, nurses, care givers. Everybody treated my mother so wonderfully.Her 2 day stay left her feeling healed rested, And ready to come home to us. Staff is very uncaring. They left me in a cold room for over an hour with no explanation. The nurse missed my vein when taking a blood sample. She then asked if I wanted cotton at the place where she drew blood. I was kind of dumbfounded as to why she would ask that, she just said "oh, you look like a tough guy, you can handle it", and didn't even put a cotton ball on it. I have never been treated so horribly. read more

Besides one bumpy experience in short stay, this place is great. It is not a hotel so yes, they will wake you up at night getting the laundry and trash and it will seem like they are being loud on purpose - that is just your tired weak body and brain from being in the hospital. (Or at least that is what I tell myself :) I have had many over night and multiple night stays and several out patient surgery's and they care myself and my family receive is usually great for over worked, underappreciated nurses (love them) The food was always really decent and they took great care in making sure my allergies were addressed read more

I am very impressed with this hospital and the way they handle things! Me intake visit turned into a Ambulance ride to the E.R. For further observation. The second visit was a lot calmer lol. My mental health PA was also very helpful and understanding (she ran out of paper while she was taking notes) once again I was impressed with the care I received. I recently moved to Grant county, Samaritan was my only choice. I have a chronic medical condition. The doctor I was referred to is an OD with a general practice. I have a medication that is a controlled substance, the Samaritan doctor rewrote the medication instructions to read "as needed" not 4 times per day. Every month I need to call or visit the clinic to get a refill and in addition receive a lecture about how additive the medication is. I KNOW the risks and am willing to take them. Samaritan needs to understand listening to patients is very important. I am searching for a MD outside to Mosses Lake, because if you do not have a run of the mill illness, you are on your own. read more

The worst experience every thought I wasn't going to make it out of there.. they are some workers that are rude and some that are nice. They were caught talking about me and my sickness to other workers. " Very slow to coming to room when pressing button takes them 15 to 20 minutes they never checked on people every hour it was like like every 4 to 5 hours. " The understanding were so not clean about the procedures that was done.. and some missing information and pieces about things I would not recommend not one to go to them if you can make it anywhere else please try because I was not safe there my family and everyone was upset at their work ethic. read more

I don't give 5 starts to anyone. I had my right lug collapsed and they took good care of me. From the ER to the hospital stay. I was at Samaritan for 3 1/2 days and I have no complaints with anything. I just wish they could have taken care of here instead of shipping me to Wenatchee or anywhere else. Worst ER experience ever. Waited 4+ hours for my boyfriend's concussion. We were sent by urgent care to the ER because they didn't have the tools for concussions apparently. We waited that long and the doctor did nothing. Not even any concussion tests. They didn't listen to his symptoms. They wanted him out of there. The doctor seemed annoyed that he was even there for a concussion. These doctors don't care for patients if it's not a trauma. read more

If you think you might die because it will take too long to get to another hospital, STILL take that chance. You do not want to end up here. I've truly never been so disappointed in a health care facility.. it brings tears to my eyes. We've recently moved to the area and this our first experience with the emergency department. I've worked in Healthcare for 15 years and I've never seen such disgraceful, disrespect for my father as a patient and toward myself as a family member. Bed side manner is not a top priority, and general knowledge seems to also lacking because basic information was not asked for. So then not given. My voice as his medical power of attorney was not heard and my face not even looked at. Like I said, I'm disappointed to see multiple people with such atrocious negative attitudes. You work with humans so maybe be a nice one. I understand you're understaffed and over worked. But my experience today makes me physically ill. You're to treat each patient with respect and dignity. In all honesty I suggest anyone with any sort of medical issue. Go elsewhere. What a disgraceful experience. And as a healthcare worker it makes me very angry. read more

Poor quality care and practice . I waited in my ER room ( not waiting lobby) for SEVEN hours for an available doctor to examine my sexual assault injuries. Meanwhile, a nurse in the ER department called local law enforcement and sexual assault program without my consent. I kindly asked New Hope advocates to leave because I was undergoing forensic examination. Sexual assault a victim need space until the HPA axis "flood" ( Flight, Fight or Freeze hormones) subsides also need two complete sleep cycles before processing trauma. Dr. Lynne Flaherty overlooked my injuries and made unprofessional remarks. Shortly later I saw my hometown physician and needed TEN stitches. They have sent me to collections within four months while my Crime Victims Compensation claim was open. This is fraudulent and illegal. Avoid this hospital. read more

I had a son in ER at least 6 times. He was never treated for his hiatal hernia. They didn't diagnose it nor did they even treat his excruciating pain. In desperation, he went to a clinic in Tijuana. His hiatal hernia was diagnosed and treated in a couple of hours. Sad to think that my son received better healthcare in a third world country than in Samaritan. During his stay, my son was so frustrated that I called the social worker and the case manager of the hospital. They didn't answer their phones. So I left voice mail. After one full work week, nobody has yet called me back. That's just unprofessional. read more

I was in the hospital with my husband and the workers are so unprofessional some are rude and some are nice; they didn't explain the procedures correctly to me or him I was so upset and frustrated at their lack of laziness he press the button for help takes them almost 20 minutes to come in or sometimes not at all he will have to press and call again. The bathrooms was barely clean, worst place every did not feel safe there. " I wouldn't recommend anyone to go here if you are having trouble and can make it to another hospital please do so because this place is so out of order and treat there patients very badly. Plus due to the laziness I had to do everything myself like clean him and disconnect him from the iv and stuff due to them taking long to come in because they can't do their jobs plus they was on their phone every time I walked out to get help as well!! I'd rather go to a veterinarian clinic than this hospital. This place actually diagnosed me with PID while I was pregnant. They wouldn't let me leave until I took some medication. Exactly 24 hours later I lost my babies. Moved to Seattle, and a couple of years later I got pregnant again. My new OB looked at the papers I filled out including my health history, and seen I had put down "PID". She asked to do another Pap, and told me straight up no. I never had that at all, and she has no idea why my previous doctor told me that. So pretty much, I was misdiagnosed, and treated for a disease I never had, so the medicine caused me to miscarry. Oh, and afterwards, I looked up the medication they gave me, and you're not suppose to take that while pregnant. I wouldn't go here unless I had a death wish. read more

This hospital is a good hospital they take care of you and they have some amazing surgeons and doctors. We went to take my grandpa in for urgent surgery for a big hernia on his spine and we only water half an hour to only 40 minutes.they gave him extrudanary care plus it's only 20-30 min. From the International Airport it's also half an hour from CaseCade Vally. And 15 from Wheeler depending on traffic. If you want a hospital that is carding and understanding then you should choose Samaritan Hospital and Samaritan Clinic on Pioneer Dr. near I-90 and 17 exit. read more

Birthing experience - not so awesome. The entire time I was laboring they were saying I may need a C section and were freaking me out unnessecarily. Post birth - horrible. I asked three people for help with nursing and I was told to go to WIC after I left (I know this is ML but that doesn't mean everyone is on welfare, and I am not), plus isnt this one of the most important things you can help a new mom establish? My nurse, Brenda, was condiscending and rude. This hospital is in the dark ages when it comes to pacient care. Not to mention it took their billing department 3 days to call me back after I left a message each day with 3 different people, including he supervisor. Basically, if you want a calm atmousphere with knowledgable and caring staff, dont go here. It's worth the drive out of Grant County for good care. read more

If I could give them no stars I would. The front desk lady was nice and so was the first doctor that my son saw. We went in because he got a popcorn kernel stuck in his ear. The first doctor he saw agreed that that's what it was. She said it would need to be vacuumed out so I assumed they were going to do it. Then a male doctor came in and was very rude. He said that all he saw was wax and that I didn't know what I was talking about. As he was checking he kept pushing it down into my sons ear. My son was screaming at this point and he looked at him and told him to "act his age". He said since I believed it was a popcorn kernel (which it was) that I needed to see a ENT. We are leaving state Wednesday so I asked if he could get us in somewhere ASAP. He said highly doubtful and was just plain rude. After he left the lady doctor came back in and I told her what was going on and what he said and she checked him again and confirmed that it was indeed a POPCORN KERNEL! I am so disgusted with how he treated me and my son. In my opinion he has HORRIBLE bedside manner and shouldn't be allowed to treat people. He misdiagnosed my son and was the worst doctor we have ever seen. I will never return and I would advise others to go elsewhere. read more

My birth experience here - Nurses vaccinated my second twin because of a shift change and didn't bother to look at the paperwork to follow our wishes. They did not have me review or sign paperwork prior to discharge on my twins birth and it was incorrect! Didn't discover any of this until we got Birth Certificates and had to send for correction. Spoke to the gal in records and she lied to my husband saying I had signed everything, we went to meet her and none of it was signed! Completely incompetent staff except for my doctor. Loved my doctor (Dr. Nye) but didn't like some of the nursing staff or the hospital! Wouldn't recommend giving birth at this hospital. read more

This place is just terrible with service.. I have lived in Moses Lake all my life and they have always been terrible. Tonight my sister was there with really bad chest pain and was losing feeling in her left arm and was having a hard time breathing, and she was even taken in by ambulance. They had her waiting in the waiting room because her vital signs were not severe, which is understandable but to do it for so long and to be rude to people as they were there is not acceptable. My sister couldn't stand sitting there through pain anymore so she told them she was leaving and that she needed her Ive removed they had pulled it out and got blood everywhere instead of taking it out gently. Not the first time I've been to this hospital and waiting for long hours for something serious and other people go in before that wasn't even that bad. And or being there for something serious and they play it off as it's a joke give you pain meds (or any meds) and just send you off. I hate going to Samaritan.. read more

I cannot even give these quacks 1 star. They have no knowledge of Multiple Sclerosis, gave me an unnecessary lumbar puncture. Then refused to treat me for the headache pain afterward. The PA (not even an MD) seriously told me to go to starbucks! Some creepy male nurse who told me he beats his kid, gave me oxygen for pain. I too would rather see a vet than any pf the people who work there. Worst part is, I went in for a MS exacerbation! Because my white blood cell count was high & I had a headache, they decided I must have meningitis! They did not know that I am actually a nurse and have worked at some of the top hospitals in Southern California. The experience was horrible to say the least. and I knew it was going to be bad when I went but I had no idea just how ridiculous it would become. MS, pregnancy and the steroids I received the day before are all factors that would raise my WBC count. None of this was considered and instead of alleviating my discomfort and listening to me, I was left in the same position for 8 hours! My lumbar puncture was a true nightmare and I felt like I was going to faint from fear. I was given 2 vicodin AFTER the procedure. No, I am not joking. I was also told by the PA that there was no reason for my primary doctor to be giving me steroids! A Perinatologist told my doctor to give me the injections because I have a high risk pregnancy and have a good chance of delivering early. They were given to help mature the baby"s lung which is standard when their is a risk of pre-term labor. They are also frequently given to people with MS. I went back twice more for labor pains and to take my son. Both were terrible experiences, though not a bad as the first but awful nonetheless. The told me to drink water and gave me 10mg of Nifedepine (which I had in my purse) to stop the contractions. I could have done this at home! I had to take my own pain medication and the meds they gave me would not have been enough to stop the contractions. They stopped on their own as they often do. I felt like I was being treated like chimps. Then one of the nurses had the balls to chew me out because my kid was coughing. She basically told me I needed to have him checked because it was probably worse than I realized. I told her he had just been to the E.R., where I was treated like a hypochondriac and told he was fine and just had a stomach bug. She persisted to tell me how I needed to have him treated, guess she missed the part when I told her In just did. Of course when he finally went to the clinic they told me he was fine and did not have any major illness. DUH, I went there for my own health issues and was in the maternity area. I understood her concern but she was not nearly as concerned for me, the patient. I will never go there again and would rather give birth on the bathroom floor at a Denny's then let anyone at Samaritan even take my temperature again:) I gave birth there 18 years ago and it was so awful I actually began having panic attacks whenever I have to see a physician in a hospital . I have even had attacks in clinics at times. I could probably do a better job instructing a complete stranger to deliver my paper. Several nurses and other people have told me to NEVER go to Samaritan if I have more than a runny nose. I completely understand why. I would recommend not going there unless you have a death wish or are simply board and need a good laugh:) read more

I, too, had an awful hospital experience here. I was hospitalized for hernia repair surgery and could never get any help to get out of bed. I actually had to throw up on myself because no one would respond to the call button. Then, I had to get myself out of bed to use the restroom before I urinated all over myself as well. I could have cared for myself all alone at home rather than pay these fools to "take care" of me. When I called the hospital to complain, they had the nerve to send me a $5 gift card to Hastings! Talk about adding salt to a wound! Nevertheless, my abdominal hernia returned immediately and I had to be hospitalized yet another time for a second repair surgery. This time, however, I went out of town. Moses Lake's hospital is a joke. I wonder if I had actually been better cared for and wasn't left to fend for myself if my abdominal hernia would have been able to heal properly. Those fools should have been forced to pay for my second surgery. Bad care is bad. read more
