So this is a review of the J&C BBQ booth at the Yellow Green Farmers Market during Easter weekend…read more It was my first visit to the Farmers Market and I consider it a success - I was looking to learn what kinds of vendors were there and we certainly saw a lot. It wasn't my mom's first time so she wasn't as positive as I was, as it wasn't her first time. It was Easter weekend and some booths were empty. Again - it was Easter weekend and therefore, it's understandable to me that some booths would not be open because that's a prominent holiday weekend when some people travel. Anyway, we had been walking around for a while and decided we'd purchase some takeout after a kind encounter for a sample with the owner - Mom was sold and got a BBQ rib platter with baked Southern macaroni and cheese as double sides. I'm not a huge rib fan (but those ribs were delicious), still I got a separate side of macaroni and cheese to accompany the protein I had already prepared at home. Truth bomb -- that mac and cheese could be a meal all by itself. It was creamy and hearty, the way it should look and taste. Thank you to Mr. Arterberry for your kind service, hospitality and for delicious takeout.

The food truck sits off the side of the road and it was raining but that didn't deter me. There was also a slight covering on the food truck. I didn't notice any seating, but I was fine taking mine to go. I was greeted by the owner and he started me off with some samples of the meats, which was great! My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the brisket and I loved the ribs. I decided to order a rack of ribs and a brisket dinner with Mac and cheese as a double side. The portions were pretty good too. Everything I ordered was delicious! I love a good sauce, but tangy and not too sweet and he delivered. The mac and cheese was cheesy and good! The ribs were good and had a slight char which I loved. Customer service: 10/10! Food:10/10! I'll be back!

I came over because I seen there was going to be a funnel cake truck and I haven't had one in forever. The parking was fairly simple seeing as there is a parking garage that's free and the truck was right there so I actually didn't have to go far. The funnel cake was soo delicious. Plenty of free parking was offered at City Hall Parking Garage. It seems like every city is having one of these popular food truck events. Pompano was also holding one across the street from their city hall tonight. This event however had some of my favorite trucks. I saw World famous, Fat Boyz, and Mod Pizza. All of those trucks have restaurants. Also present was Melted Madness, Opita, Jerk It, That Vegan Truck, and Kona Ice. Cosmo the largest double deck ice cream nitrogen truck was also attending. I even saw a coffee truck. There were two tents selling moderately priced beer, wine, and cocktails. The event had some really nice tables set up to eat at which is almost unheard of at these events. Usually you either have to stand up or bring your own chair. Entertainment was provided by dueling pianos. They were actually quite entertaining and they took requests from the crowd. They provided a variety of easy listening songs including songs by Elton John, Stevie Nicks, and Queen. This is a very nice family an dog friendly event. With free parking and beautiful weather they night couldn't have been more perfect under the stars.

Finally I was going to take the burgers as is. The guy says sorry we can't make this burger to go. It's a burger place that has carry out but won't make a burger to go and won't let you make any modifications. Bad experience, don't recommend. Will never come back. I'd give 0 stars if I could. Thank you for the reply. I originally wanted to X-tudo but I was refused to substitute the bug without seeds, every burger that is taken to go is never as good as dining in. As a customer I could have been given the option. The person could have just said it's not as good but it's your choice. I was never offered a chance to speak with a manager, I was just told NO. As a customer it should be up to me what burger I want to order, the ability to modify it and dine in or out. If I pay for it then it shouldn't matter if I take it home or just throw it out. I was frustrated because anything I asked for was met with a No, and was not offered to speak to a manager. It was the attitude take it or leave it, so I did. If the person I spoke with offered to involve a manager or try to find a solution I would have not written a review. I never do but this time I took the time to write one, that should say something. Thank you for your reply

The surf and turf quesadilla is officially my new go-to order. And my husband is still talking about the Baja fish tacos. Drinks were just as impressive (highly recommend the margaritas), and the overall vibe totally passed the check - lively, fun, but still comfortable enough to actually enjoy your meal and conversation. But the ordering is near impossible. You cannot place a to go order on the phone. Online and kiosk ordering only. Also could not order mac and cheese, not as the plate side, not as a regular side. Nowhere. Last time it was some other common dish. So I have to order at the front with a person. They don't want to talk to you. They are fine when they finally take your order but it's a small agony to order with them. And it always smells like they're smoking something other than meats inside while I wait. Also, I had signed up for text coupons. Got a ton of texts (maybe just weekly but felt like a lot) with different offers. Great. Except you can't use it when you order with a person. They said it was bc they are transitioning to a new system but the new system seems indistinguishable from the last - neither lets you select from the full menu. Today was my last attempt. By the time I arrived at the Margate Fall Festival the lines for all the food were really long. It was either eat at Pork O'Rican, wait in another line for over an hour, or be hungry. Pork O' Rican it is! According to Pork O' Rican this is their story "We are a Puerto Rican food truck who also provides catering for corporate events, parties, festivals and more. We have been cooking authentic Puerto Rican food for years and wanted to be able to share it with the community. Our famous signature dish is our roast pork. Amongst that are some of our top sellers including tostone platters, rice & bean platters, empanadas, alcapurria, and more. We just want to share the Puerto Rican culture and provide the community with the natural flavors of Puerto Rico. This is a family run food truck. Mom and Dad cooked, their daughter took orders, and they even put their young son to work. By the time we got to order they were out of the arroz con gondules, yellow rice and pigeon peas. Fortunately they still had the bacalaitos, codfish fritters which my friend really wanted and she also ordered the alcapurias. I chose the roast pork platter with rice hold the beans ($12). A water was an additional $2. I was pleased that they took both card and cash payments. I gave the plantains to my friend who enjoyed them. The roast pork portion was small, had really hard pieces, and was swimming in pork grease. Once I dislodged it from the grease and shredded it, and incorporated it into the rice it was okay and it did the job of abating my hunger. To be fair my friend really enjoyed her food and she is Puerto Rican so you should trust her opinion more than mine. This is one of those times I really wished Yelp had half stars. If I averaged our two opinions it would be a 3.5. After reading the owner's thoughtful and fair reply and other good reviews I would be open to trying them again when they aren't so busy.

I got the pork sandwich which normally comes with lettuce and tomato, they do not offer onions raw or cooked which is a bummer, but I had sweet onion and spicy pineapple vinegar at home so no biggie. Roll is like an amoroso or something, it's a hoagie type, I would have preferred it as a panini-style on Cuban bread or a round roll but I guess that's what they used today. Next time I won't get it with cheese, frankly next time I'll probably just get it as a plate with beans and rice. Pork itself is nice and tender. Came with tostones. They look good, left them for later. Empanadas are clearly homemade, they are a nice size. Got the beef picadillo ones, haven't touched them yet. I did, however, try their beef Alcapurria. This is a fast food dish unique to Puerto Rico, it is like a tamale but made of mashed plantains, filled with any number of things (this was beef picadillo) and then deep-fried. OMG. An empanada with a plantain crust. Some notes. They did not give me any condiments and didn't ask if I wanted any. Tostones really require Salsa Rosa (pink sauce) or some mojo. I, fortunately, had the ingredients to make it myself, it's ketchup mixed with mayo and usually some spicy vinegar. I would ask and make sure they give you something to dip in. They did take credit card payments and put it in my trunk while I waited so relatively contactless.
