I believe he was also purposefully ignoring us since we are a gay couple because he ended up texting us a homophobic comment after termination and addressing his unprofessional behavior and lack of timeliness. My husband would call him several times and I had never used my number to contact him, so I decided to give him a call and lo and behold magically he could respond when he was radio silent to my husband. He even threatened to report me and my texts to the bank, which is hilarious because he would just be doing me a favor of displaying his incompetence and saving me the time of complaining about him to the bank which we did anyways. read more

Instead, I will simply say what happened and you can decide for yourself. Aaron Baldwin did not perform his job to my satisfaction at all (no judgment here, only MY experience). After quitting on me because he didn't want to do his job and I told him a piece of my mind, he texted me to "get our nails done" (screenshot of text below). You can decide for yourself if that is homophobic or not. Though I can't say for sure, I believe that this might be the reason why he performed so poorly the whole time. If that isn't enough to make up your mind, keep reading: - Aaron ignored my husband during his second inspection and pretended not to know who he was, as if I hadn't mentioned his name several times and that he was going to be there - ignored phone calls, emails and texts and would not get back to me unless I called 5-10 times in a row. The only thing he would text is "call you right back" and then never call. Also, took several days to complete the simplest tasks such as signing a document after promising to do it that day. "Same day"? More like next week if you insist. - general incompetence/sabotage: he kept saying that he's been doing this job for 30 years, but didn't actually give any solid advice and pretended not to know the most basic things. When I would ask him about changing our contract to reflect the changes to our project, he would simply say "the contract is the contract", "ask the bank" and that he didn't know if that was ok. But when I called the bank, they couldn't believe it because it's "obviously his job" (sic) to initiate a change request. When I asked him to finally submit the request, he quit on me because we're "too much trouble". And he will probably say that it's because we didn't get permits etc etc but we got all the permits we needed and he was trying to force us to get more permits which would cost unnecessary time and money! Because of this delaying and simply not doing his job, we got our loan money significantly later than we should have and are experiencing serious cash flow issues and now on top of that we have to find a new consultant. Mind you, I was willing to work with him and he was the one who quit. Knowing what I know now I should have fired him a long time ago, but I didn't know that was even possible. I'm just relieved that I never have to deal with this man again and hope that everyone else will run from him too. I finally decided to tell him about the things he did wrong and all he could give was pathetic excuses and "stop harassing me". It's really sad that there are so few 203k consultants in Los Angeles and options are limited, but I can really only urge you to find someone else if you need one. read more

Part 2 Aaron from Same Day 203k Consulting has completely abandoned my project. I have been waiting for confirmation on this and I finally received it from him today. The unprofessionalism, laziness, incapable of paying attention to detail and the lack of ownership has caused me to leave this review. I basically had to do his job with consulting with the contractor and the banks and also make sure he received all of his compensation from the bank when I never initially knew I had to do. His incompetence has caused a lot of disappointed, frustrations and money. In my previous post I was pressured by Aaron to post a review before real actual work got started. He appears in the beginning to be caring, understanding and someone you can depend on. However that quickly changed when any problem arised during my project. Now that we are at the end of this year long plus journey he decides to walk away and quit leaving me and my family holding the bag. Oh he decides to quit after he has been fully compensated for doctoring up draw requests and refusing to correct them when questioned by the bank. I don't know where to start this review...? But, let's start with back in June 2015 my wife and I bought a fixer upper house. Our intention was to close on this house and refinance with a 203k loan to assist us with all the renovations. I must have hit jack pot when my original lender suggested to use Same Day 203k Consultant service. At first visit from Aaron I knew this was the right guy for the job. Aaron is very knowledgeable, courteous, and most importantly understanding. His first words to me where "don't worry I will do everything I can to help you make this house into your dream home". Unfortunately my luck ran out few weeks later as the original lender totally dropped the ball on my loan. I won't get into much details but in short they wouldn't approve my loan. I called Aaron in panic asking for assistance given my situation. Once again Aaron reassured me not worry and he will set me up with another lender who will get this job done. After 2 months of back and forth paperwork Aaron's words stayed true. I have now closed on the 203k loan and ready to start construction next week! To sum up this review I just want to say 203k loans are not your average conventional A + B type of loan. This is a very very complicated loan which takes the right lender and 203k consultant to get the job done. I was consistently underwhelmed by Same Day 203k throughout the process of my renovation. The lack of attention to detail and lack of communication cost me a portion of my original scope of work (with associated budget) and lots of hair pulling as I approached my 6 month deadline. I had to make 2 revisions to my scope while finalizing the mortgage, all additions to the prior scope. Instead of updating the most recent scope, the consultant used an old copy of the scope which was missing items from the most recent revision. I did not notice in time (which I acknowledge was on me), so the scope was finalized without all of the items I had requested. I ended up having to pay for that work out of pocket. I was also displeased with my final draw request. After sending the consultant all my paperwork after his final inspection, I heard radio silence for 10 days. Finally after another follow up, I was told that the paperwork had been sent to my mortgage company. However the mortgage admin could not find any email from my consultant. It took Same Day 203k 8 days to respond to my email requesting a copy of his original email. Finally it was determined that he sent it to the wrong mortgage company. I had told him the correct company during my 1st draw since my mortgage had been sold immediately after closing. With less than 2 days to my deadline, I was finally able to forward his email to the right company. While I understand that mistakes happen, he did not follow up with me nor on the original email to ensure it made it to the correct destination which I found unprofessional. While scheduling inspections usually only required 1-2 follow up calls and the consultant does seem to know contracting, I would not recommend working with Same Day 203k on the whole. read more

From the moment I contacted Aaron to schedule the appointment for the initial walk through, he was extremely informative and provided information for reference, so assure I could get some sort of understanding.
