I'd love to give this team a 5 star rating but unfortunately the communication during my loan process was not adequate. This is my second time going through the home loan process and during my first experience my lender was in constant communication with me. They would always reach out and let me know where things were at every step of the way. This time it was me having to do all of reach out to figure out where things were at. If I didn't reach out and push for updates no one was even paying attention to my loan. I may be wrong about that but I wouldn't know because as I said, no one was reaching out to me to give me updated unless I made the effort. The loan literally went up to the very last day and I was still the one who had to reach out to get things moving, they never felt the need to reach out to me. If it weren't for the owner of the company reaching out to smooth things over I would be giving a much lower review. To be fair, the process did start out fantastic. Communication only deteriorated later in the process. I've also used this company for their tax services and that experience was fantastic. Hillhurst Mortgage came through for me in the end - but the experience was mixed. Adam worked patiently with me for months while I got my taxes and income in order to get the loan I needed. When another lender offered me a better rate, Adam worked hard to match it. And most importantly, I closed on time and got a great loan without any hiccups. However, after I had committed to Hillhurst, it turned out they couldn't actually match that offer from the other lender. They twice added some fees which they hadn't initially informed me of. When I called them on it they took some steps to address the fees, but still....Furthermore, some of the communication with their office hasn't been great. My insurance company reported they were rude on the phone when they called to set things up. And some of their communication with my escrow company regarding closing costs was confusing. So all in all good not great. read more
