However this is the only place where I have actually noticed the quality of the hair cut. When I leave here I can tell that the hair cut is next level compared to anywhere else I've been. They also take significantly longer to get everything right compared to other places. Not that it takes super long or anything, but they spend the time to trim around the ears etc really well. The places itself is nice and has an old school vibe. It's right in downtown Lenoir with plenty of street parking around. As long as I'm in the area I will continue to come here.

To start, I booked an appointment with the only female staff(that I'm aware of) there. My reason for this was because I googled characteristics of the type of haircut I was looking for and frankly her name was what popped up as being "very skilled and experienced" with this type of haircut. the morning of the appointment came and I received a text message from a "Madison" stating that she was sick and kindly asked if I would either reschedule or book with someone else. I was unable to reschedule so I went ahead and sought booking another barber in the shop to cut my hair. Unfortunately their haircut price was significantly higher than hers, however it was the option available at the time so I went with it. When I arrived at my appointment this person who needed to reschedule/have me book with someone else was in fact present at the barber shop cutting hair. Obviously I am not suggesting that this was done to be personal because that would be pretty weird and bizarre to think. However it still presented as quite an unprofessional and frankly rude thing to do. in regards to the haircut itself the barber that did the work was very nice and welcoming. i was not satisfied with the haircut that was given and while yes I can admit that in a situation like that it could always be due to how I requested it, possibly poorly described what I was looking for etc etc. That's fine and I understand that but overall I really intended to get my haircut with the person that according to google was "highly skilled" in this particular cut. I have read other reviews on here that would suggest some innapropriate behavior towards the female staff of the establishment has occurred in the past and I don't know what's true and what's not true all I do know for certain is that as a first time customer with no other intentions other than getting a solid haircut, I left feeling quite disappointed in the whole situation. I've rambled enough, but I say everything to simply say... The vibe and so called atmosphere of a place like that ends up coming across as cringe and just not very genuine when the experience that is given doesn't really match the tone that is being attempted.

The shop owner was finishing up one person in front of me and his hair looked perfect so I gave very little direction on what I wanted and trusted in his skills. I've gotten haircuts in some of the finest salons in the most exclusive parts of LA and SD in Calif... I can honestly say that there is no comparison!!
