I took a class here for cake decorating taught by Maria Luisa and let me tell you, she was extremely condescending and rude when it came to answering questions. She humiliated me in front of everyone so I decided to stop taking the class and asked for my money back. To this day she has refused to give me my money back DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!! She has done this to multiple people!! Save your money and find somewhere else to go. She threatened me that she would lie to the police if I filed a report. Avoid this place! I will be filing a police report until I receive my payment. As a professional pastry chef I look for quality and good service. I worked for a great company called Bakers Bodega so when I go to small businesses such as this "Sammy's Cake And Candy Supplies" I look for friendly service and good products. I knew the previous owner to that shop and let me tell you she was great never over priced her items. I went for the first time and yes I liked the variety of cake toppers that's about it. Boards were really pricey when I can get them 40 cents cheaper elsewhere the fondant was Wilton and super priced I could of gone to Michael's. The point to my bad review of this place is that when I called to ask for the pastry pride whipped topping the owner told me she sold the vanilla flavor in a gallon, I told her I would be there soon due to the reason they were gonna close. I got there and she was taking her time chatting and didn't bother telling her other customers to wait instead she ignored me I waited patiently. She gave me the pastry pride and put it in a bag I went on talking about certain prices and it was my fault for not checking what kind of cream she gave me. When I got home I opend my bag and was given the really bad kind of pastry pride so I messaged her right away since I don't live so close I went today .. And realize how rude and unhelpful this place is. She told me " we do not do exchanges with any dairy products" which is such a unprofessional excuse. Even a food 4 less can give you an exchange or money back. I told her well you gave me something I didn't ask for and then she was rude I tried to be civil with this person and I told her I was only looking to get an exchanges she said she couldn't help me. I told her okay fine I came to this place to try it out and clearly it's not worth my time or money. I can't explain how angry and unhappy I was after my visit. I do not recommended it and I have professional and home bakers that I refered them to this place as soon as I left I gave them a call and they told me thank you because they wouldn't wanna travel to such place where they can't reach the proper service.
