I called for information on Hunter Douglas shades and had a good talk with a woman here, after which we made an appointment for her and a technical person to come by the house a few days later to discuss details about how the mechanized shades work, and look at colors and fabrics.. About five minutes before the expected arrival that day I had a message saying "we" are running late but "we" expect to be there within 15 minutes. About 30 min later though, the doorbell rang and a man stood there. He did not introduce himself but his shirt was labeled "Hunter Douglas". I asked where the design person was with whom I had spoken and who had sent me that message. He didn't know. He came in and I asked if we should wait for her. He didn't know. No attempt to wear a mask or ask if I preferred he do so, and as he walked into the living room I saw he was wearing dirty tennis shoes as he walked on our Oriental carpet--no attempt on his part to remove or cover them. He was very terse (I could not tell if he was shy or upset about coming alone) but did the measuring. I asked what was going on, as I was expecting a designer to come with color books, fabric etc. He offered he had a color book in his car and could go get it, but I had expected to interact with a designer. He was in and out within five minutes. I called the shop, and another employee explained my contact was with a customer, and then, most oddly, proceded to explain to me what this other customer was asking about and was going to order. I stopped her as I wasn't interested at all in another person's order, said I had had a message that "we" were coming and who was this solo quiet man who turned up without ever giving his name even. I asked for my contact to call me back but was told they close at 2p and she would be leaving (heaven forbid they return a call past 2p apparently). I got the email address and sent off an email saying I found this all very unprofessional. I very well could understand running late with a client, but then why not call to say that and ask if we could re-schedule? But sending out this man alone, an employee who clearly was not at his best when speaking directly with customers and who didn't know what was going on even with his own workmate, was unacceptable. She had my email and phone number, but now five days later still no response. Very unprofessional and apparently don't like being called on it! The whole effect was very disorganized and unprofessional.

So, they estimated that 1/4 of a MILLION DOLLARS OF MEATS and all other refrigerator items were thrown in the dumpster! What's extremely disturbing is that some of the public was trying to salvage some of that food!!! With many people suffering from Food INSECURITY ALL WAS DISPOSED! TARGETS REASON: LIABILITY! Why don't they have anyone that wanted to salvage the waste to sign waivers or donate what was sealed and vacuum packed! Just cause it was 6 hours without refrigeration I'm sure it was still healthy to eat and feed just think what A QUARTER OF A MILLION DOLLARS OF FOOD COULD HAVE BEEN SUPER BENEFICIAL! Sorry to hear this from actual Target employees and they feel the same way! What a tremendous WASTE! If they took it upon themselves to forgo LIABILITY FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THOSE STRUGGLING TO MAKE ENDS MEET! The Public should know that Yes Target does not want to harm anyone BUT THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN HEROS TO ALL OF THERE FOOD TO DONATION CENTERS AND THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS! I personally very heart broken to hear of such waste!

Good thing is found some randomly marked down toys on one of the end caps. Totally unnecessary purchase, but at 75% off, it was a reasonable deal.

Very interesting furniture store, located in downtown Hyde Park…read more I stopped into Jerusalem Trading along River Street in Hyde Park, as I was in the area, and have been looking for a new mattress. The exterior sign read "mattresses", and since the store is located in Hyde Park, I thought I might be able to get a good deal, and good service (as this 'downtown' Hyde Park area used to be hustling-and-bustling with people, and is now almost a ghost town (it's sad that more and more town center areas continue to decline, and have so many stores going out of business). At least the store has not gone out of business. Anyway, upon my arrival, there was not ONE person inside the store. Now, there should have been at least one employee inside, and there probably was one in one of the back rooms or something as such, but they didn't bother to come out and see their ONLY customer. The interior looked more like an antique store than a furniture store. Yes, it was filled with furniture but there was also bedding and more home decor like items. There were barely any mattresses and everything looked old and outdated. Prices were high (especially for this area), and it just didn't seem like the best place to buy mattresses or furniture. Fine place to look for home decor or to stop in to compare furniture, but probably not the place you're ultimately going to get it from. Overall, 2 stars for this 'average' furniture store.

I felt kind of guilty for seeking this place out (a friend who lives nearby recommended it) in the…read morefirst place, since I've been trying to economize lately. And having read some of the earlier reviews, I was prepared for this place to sell $200 scarves and candles. That being said, Nest does indeed sell high-end merch like jewelry. It would not be out of place in the South End. The walls were full of art from a local photographer that was amazing, but I don't have $325 to drop on a 24 x 8 inch panel right now. It's definitely one of the best-smelling stores I have ever been to, but the most expensive candle was $48, not two bills. However, there was a pretty sizeable selection of "reasonably priced" items, like $24 scarves, wine racks on sale, little foodstuff items, hair accessories. I ended up picking up two $12 leather-and-studded headbands which were cool. It's definitely the kind of place where you're either shopping for yourself or a woman whose taste you know really, really well. Because you're dealing with a home store with an independently-curated selection of stuff, the gifts aren't safely generic like Pottery Barn or Williams-Sonoma--I hope that makes sense. I really have a bias against indifferent customer service. So the only serious ding was that the woman behind the counter basically did not acknowledge or speak to me until I asked if I could put the headbands at the register while I shopped some more--she was sweet as could be and chatty after that. There was only one other customer in the store, who also got ignored until she made a purchase. I don't like feeling like I have to pay to get a hello out of someone. But I'll definitely be back again sometime the next time I'm in the nabe.

However, more people should find this hidden gem..!! From shabby and fun home decor to funky rugs, jewelry, candles and bags, they've got a nice mix of hip designers and styles. It's similar to the store Anthropology, however less pricey and not a chain or large business. I was just there today and purchased a fabulous Angela Adams rug, full of textures, moss greens, rich browns and honeys. This great little store is sure to inspire whether it be home or self..
