This review is based on their auto dept: I purchased a set of 4 Pirelli tires in November 2025. This month, I noticed that there was a nail in my tire. So since the tires were new, I went back to Sam's so that they could repair my tire. After waiting 2 hours, the technician told me that he could not fix my tire because the nail was in a certain spot. Went one Saturday and it was pretty packed (as expected). When you walk in they have some school and sports gear like tents, chairs, clothes, and etc. I believe it was LSU, Saints, and Xavier University. While I appreciated that they had Xavier stuff (as I am an HBCU graduate), I think it would be nice if they also offered gear for other schools in the city. I graduated from Dillard University (which is also in New Orleans) and would love to have the option to purchase a lawn chair and gear for my school. Some other schools in the city who could be represented include Tulane, Loyola, SUNO, UNO, Delgado, and etc. We were able to get the other items that we were looking for and enjoyed some of the free samples while there. Decided to get pizza on the way out which was pretty good. You can't beat Sam's pizza for the price and size. The fountain drink machines weren't working which was a bummer, so anyone wanting a drink it had to get a canned drink. read more

This review is only about the scan and go feature of Sam's. Love love loveeeeeee the SCAN & GO. Love the concept of being able to scan and go. This makes it so effortless. You literally are scanning your items and when you're done you hit the checkout button select your method of payment and you were out the door amazing. We've been members for a minute now and I've seen a great decline in service here. When I'm in the store, I like and appreciate the scan n' go so that I don't have to deal with the outrageously long lines at times. I also don't bother asking for help because staff are not around to help. I'd rather walk the entire store looking for what I need. While I'm not a huge fan of this place (due to service), I do appreciate the curbside service more. The wait times are not as bad as they once were and the staff is more accommodating. However, I purchased two rotisserie chickens and they were undercooked. I returned them and was told by management that, there is nothing wrong with the chicken as the meat is cooked. If you enlarge the picture, you will see how pink the meat really is. She said some people like red/pink chicken bones, I'm not one. Of course I will never buy rotisserie chicken here again. Oh Sammy I'm back and I see a few changes. I recently was offered a year pass to Sam's club for 1/2 the regular yearly cost. I thought okay let me see what Sam's has to offer. A digital card now, oh wow, yeah I like it. Much is the same... An area that caught my eye was the prepared food section, that's new for me as they only had roti Chickens and baked goods before. On this trip picked up a corned beef, an easter book for babychild, half a years worth of laundry detergent for on 21$ (what?!)a giant container of M&Ms for the Pirate and as suggested by another customer, the most amazing pasta&kale salad. I went again with the Pirate and scoped out the stuffed salmon filets (next time I'll just grab my own filet, they were meh at most), picked up that pasta salad again and copious amounts of fruit. My departing hotdog didn't taste the same, maybe because in the past there was relish and onions offered, maybe they don't use Nathan's anymore (shrugs shoulders). I went to the Sam's store on Manhattan Blvd in Harvey, Louisiana on March 16, 2024 to purchase grapes. I went to pick out my grapes. I opened the container to make sure the grapes were firm and not soft. I have always done that. The worker who was pushing a pallet jack saw me and approach me. He said I was not allowed to do that and if I did not want them he had to take them. So I handed the grapes to him since those grapes were soft. Then he watched me to make sure I did not do it again. I told him he did not have to watch me. He said he had to. I told him I did know that was the rule and he was making me feel like a criminal by watching me. He replied I did not say you were. I explained to him that by him watching my every move (he stared at me the entire time I was by the grapes) it made me feel like a criminal. I also feel he discriminated against me. I have seen people taste the grapes before purchasing them. Those people are never told anything. Making a customer feel like they are being watched and made to feel like a criminal is poor customer service. I would like an apology. I would like to speak to a regional manager that oversees this store. I am extremely upset. read more

This Sam's club needs help to say the least. It's terrible. Employees are everywhere but doing nothing and the lines all 3 they have open are backed up down isles. There is two self checkouts that are 10 items or less that have an employee standing there in front of both registers, again doing nothing, except watching people checkout 20+ items and saying noting. Then they proceed to make you wait longer in the line to get out of the door to "check" the receipt. After years of hoping for a change in Sam's. I changed... I got my Costco membership today:) it takes me less time to cross the river shop at Costco than to go to the Sam's THREE MINUTES from my house! It's been a year and a half since I switched to Costco. I placed an order to be delivered to me on Monday (4/10/2023) between 2-4pm. My order never showed up. I contacted Sam's Club through the chat service where they were of no help. They had offered an $8 gift card when the delivery was initially late as compensation. 30 minutes prior to my store closing I contacted them again, they promised a delivery TODAY (4/11/2023) along with another $10 gift card for compensation. They have failed to deliver the gift card and have yet to deliver my order. Every time I get on chat to talk to someone they refuse to actually assist and disconnect without notice because they don't want to help. There's no way to avoid this or file a complaint about it. I went to cancel my order and there is no option to and was ineligible for a return. I can't return something I never even got! Apparently, they can't get a driver to deliver the order. I paid Sam's to deliver, not a 3rd party, so that is an issue for them to figure out to get my delivery to me on time. Each agent has refused to cancel and refund my order. I want a full refund and at this point. Our family has been a member for over 30 years and this is how Sam's treats their long-term members. Oh, and I've tried calling my local Sam's Club over and over and over - nobody ever picks up the phone! Absolute worst service! 10/17/22 Was the worst visit that I have ever made at Sams club located at 1527 Manhattan Blvd. Harvey, LA 70058. At approximately 6:00 pm I went in to discuss an issue that I was having with my card. As soon as you walked through the doors, the member services line was backed up to the entry door. I stood in line for about 25 minutes. Finally when it was my turn a caucasian woman walked up from out of nowhere and stood on the side of me. Ms. Rebecca (who was assisting customers in member services) overlooked me and assisted the caucasian woman. A customer behind me and myself politely addressed Rebecca that I was indeed next in line. Rebecca threw her hands up in the air with a smile, came from behind the counter and said "I'll be right back" and never returned. She however called two other ladies up to the counter. One being the manager named Lisa and another young lady (whose name that I didn't get...but she was Hispanic with a lilo/stich tattoo on her arm) Both the customer and I explained to that particular young lady about what happened and who was next. The young lady then tells us (Well I don't know about all of that) She took the Caucasian woman to another register (by the tire area register) so that she could feel more comfortable and finish her transaction. I hate to call it this but by far this is the most racist thing that I have ever encountered.I also spoke with the manager Lisa and the only thing that she told me was "I'll talk to her" The manager really didn't seem to be concerned about the issue and just kept repeating that she will talk to her. I highly doubt that she will. That is why I am here letting Sams corporation know what is going on in their stores. As a customer, I have rights. It did not matter to anyone about what was going on and nothing was done about it. I did not think that Sams club was capable of showing this type of behavior so bluntly. This situation had/has me really upset. It was very unnecessary and very ignorant. Right is right and wrong is wrong. All parties refused to understand the magnitude of this situation and showed no concern about it. As a black woman whom I myself used to work in the customer service field for years knows that this is not how you treat people! This incident made me feel so low and devalued as a black woman. I stood in line like everyone else waiting to be assisted. I waited over 25-30 minutes. That 25-30 minutes turned into 40 because they thought it was a good idea to dish out white privilege. That particular customer had all rights in their eyes to skip the entire line for her own personal convenience due to the color of her skin.This is something that I would never ever expect coming from such a big cooperation. This is such a sad situation on how this was handled and I'm sorry to say this but I will be in contact with my lawyer this afternoon about this situation. This was definitely unnecessary and very inappropriate. It's really unfortunate that things like this still goes on in society. I never thought that it would be a day that I would walk out of a Sams club store (who has been a member for over 15 years) just to leave out feeling so devalued and degraded. read more

Once again Sam's Club tire service is terrible!!! I arrived here at 7:55 and it's been two hours and my car is still not ready for a simple repair to a tire that was damaged and balance and rotate. We repeatedly asked them when they balance the tires to put sticky weights on the inside of the rims, they have repeatedly put hammered weights on the outside of my rims. I don't believe there's any supervision of this department. As I watch the young man working on my car, he stopped to air up someone else's tires. These folks have NO respect for your time. Very disappointed about my experience at Sam's Club today. We shopped here today for a party. We were offered to apply for a credit card and save $40.00 in doing so. It was never explained that the offer was: You had to be approved to get the $40.00, whuch I knew we would be approved, so we agreed to apply. We were taken out the line and moved to customer service. The young lady ran the credit, took the picture then said there was an error. We were approved for $4500.00. At this point we are told there was an error so we could not use the card today as stated, nor would we get the $40.00 off. This left a poor taste in the Sam's experience as we've wasted time only to be told there was nothing that could be done. The manager, Lisa Mack, was called. Who showed no empathy. I advised I didn't come for a fight, only the benefit I was told I would receive. She said she offered me a drink or something out the snack area, which is not comparable to what was offered, but was all she could do. In the end we were not compensated in anyway as the manager said it was nothing she could do and left without purchasing today. I generally shop at the east bank SAMs club but today I was on the west bank and decided to go to this location. After finding the items I. Wedged, and waiting in self checkout lines in which two of the registers were broken, I checked out and an employee was standing right by the self check outs to check the receipt. At the other SAMs I have been to; after you get your recipes checked, you can skip the line at the exit door to get it checked there. Not so here, and they are very rude about telling you so. We waited in a huge line. Finally got someone's attention and told he employee that we had already been checked. She said even so we had to get back in line and get checked at the door. This is my go to Sam's that's on this side of the river. I normally go to assist my mom with her grocery shopping because I hate that she has to go alone. She's like superwoman always lugging cases of water and what not. This Sam's lot is always packed when I drive by. I despise grocery shopping but can't help it if I need to. The lot isn't the greatest but the inside is pretty clean to me. The last I heard this was the Sam's someone tried to steal a tv from, but miserably failed after putting it into the truck. Everything is usually in stock up until recently due to the hurricane and foodstamps going on. My only complaint is the long line for check out. It wasn't so bad the last time I went but usually they are understaffed in that area. And people are pushing carts and carts of merchandise. So it takes a while to pass through but I believe it's faster than Walmart next door. read more

They have a new manager a blonde haired lady and I don't know if she was instrumental but they have changed their policy at the register and it has been going much faster. I was very disappointed. We stopped in to do our normal stock up. There was only one cashier open. The floor manager that was assisting the cashier had a real nasty attitude when a customer didn't want an item. The floor manager than told a few customers to check out at customer service. There was no spaghetti noodles in stock neither no floor attendant to assist. The guy in the meat department was jamming his way through work and didn't even ask if we needed assistance. This Sam's Club services the Westbank, so we've been members and shopping here since the 90s. My family buys everything in bulk, so I get the best prices on everything. Today, gallons of milk is $2.95 each. Can't beat that! I've never had problems with this location. It stays busy, day and night. The self checkout lanes are convenient if you have 10 items or less. I have been calling the customer service desk for months now and constantly put on hold for more than 15 minutes while waiting to be assisted. The employee kept talking to others while I am trying to get my needs met. She had a nasty attitude and I did not care to wait for her to return to the phone, so again, I hung up! I feel no one is holding a weapon to their heads to work there. If they are not happy with their job they need to go find another. Because of this ongoing problem of not being able to get assisted properly via the telephone - I guess I have to physically go into the store to get what I need. Incredibly Rude Manager, Forget about Scan and Go Sam's Club has this new Scan and Go system that they are advertising all over their store and in commercials. Not to mention the almost daily e-mails about it. I recently renewed my membership (after 6 months) and was curious to try it in order to save money and time. But, like always, it's just another piece of dysfunction in their awful store pie. I went along on my grocery trip. My first one at Sam's since March '16. Painstakingly taking a bit of extra time scanning each item as I went. But with the "promise" the extra trouble will be worth it because I'll earn 3% back on my purchase and save more time by avoiding check-out. That is LIE. It is a SCAM. I'm furious I fell for their CON. I'm all done shopping. I hit the "Pay" button. And get a "01" error, with a message that I have to go to a register. No further info is given. I go to customer service to find out what the problem is. They have no idea. No shocker there, lmao. But call a manager for me. As an aside, I had to wait over 10 minutes just to ask, because there was only one person working (of course). I take the extra step of being considerate to other customers by moving a good bit down the counter, so the manager can speak to me without disturbing the other interactions. Except, when the manager arrives, he doesn't even have the COURTESY to walk over to me. Like a DECENT and NORMAL human being would. He YELLS down to me from about 20 feet away!!!!! Obviously I was already upset, but he just ante'd up my anger by 20 notches. His only explanation, with a "yeah, whatever" attitude, was that it had nothing to do with me or my app. That the app will just randomly stop working often throughout the day...my impression was for long enough periods of time, it wouldn't help to keep trying. And I had been trying over and over for more than 20 minutes, anyway. Funny enough, the cashier I ended up having to use was substantially nicer AND more helpful. She told me the app doesn't work MOST of the time, smh. read more
