Timed the trip well half hour before closing, found a deserted and quiet endless assortment of everything, well near most everything I got spoiled with Costco. Oddly there's small things not quite right, no expiring items or real discounts like Kroger offers pushing on slow moving products. A curious issue Walmart also suffers from, I don't get being fine throwing out fine food stuffs instead of marking it down 90% to save landfills and consumer budgets. And every peanut butter option is polluted with seed oils, extremely unhealthy and failing the nutrition needs. We got the yearly subscription for a twenty buck deal. Perhaps will feel the savings with basics like butter, gasoline, and some other items, yet I am curious to see and compare knowing Kroger and Meijer both give real savings on red tag sales which really add up on produce, meats, and dairy. read more

Second, there's a single glacially show line to order. We didn't time it but it couldn't have been less than a half hour wait just to order. Third, the staff''s attitude was awful. Always get gas when you come because the prices are hard to beat. Customer service is generally helpful, but sometimes you get someone who is a crank. They've started using self-checkout, and if you use the app you can scan your items as you go which makes the checkout process as quick as a click of the button. Before you head out, an employee always scans 3 random items in your cart to check if you've actually scanned and paid for everything. Not a full proof system, but something is better than nothing! Prices are also hard to beat per unit since you're buying in bulk. If you're a Purdue fan, this is also a great place to buy your Purdue gear without breaking the bank! Seafood selection is miniscule, mostly frozen or smoked which is disappointing. Salmon seems to be the only fresh fish, a steal at $9/ pound. Is it possible to abhor Walmart, but like Sam's? I think so. Lafayette doesn't have a Costco, so Sam's is the next best option. They have best price on gasoline in town, high quality groceries, household items, fresh bakery, pharmacy, and tire shop. They have a good liquor selection and wine options. The craft beer selection started out lame and full retail price, but as of May 2017, the selection is much much improved and most prices are now the best in town. The Members Mark brand is high quality almost across the board, from garage shelving to grills to garden hoses to groceries. I don't buy everything here, just certain things. After trial and error, you find your go-to staple items at the best price points. Sam's operates a click-n-pull service if you want to advance order things. The cafe is a cheap place for lunch or dinner, but the quality is spotty. Sometimes the pizza is fresh and hot, other times greasy and limp. The best value is order an entire pizza. The hot dogs are decent but can be indigestion on a bun. The frozen yogurt and slushies are good, when the machines are functioning. read more

Had a horrible experience with the Phone Salesman. The misleading sales tactics and lack of customer service reflects poorly on the entire store. He lied to us on regarding the availability of phones. He stated all phones from AT&T were mailed to the customer. We later found out we could have received the phones from AT&T that day. I lost several hundred dollars in business as we waited for our phones to arrive by mail. I am not very tech savvy, so I was concerned regarding my ability to set up the phones on my own. He said not to worry about the phone set up as he promised us he would ensure the phones were set up properly. When the phones arrived, two of them didn't work. We took the phones to him as he had promised us he'd set them up for us. However, he refused to help us. We offered to come back at a different time if he was busy. He told us we had to go to a different AT&T dealer. He said it wasn't his problem and he would not help us. Needless to say we are extremely disappointed in the lack of customer service and lack of ownership for the issue. This is a pretty nice Sam's Club. I presume that it's like many others, but a recent remodeling effort certainly was an improvement as there is now a pharmacy and expanded bakery section. The interior does have that warehouse feel, but it appears well maintained and inviting. Not everything is a bargain compared to retail stores, but on a significant number of items, bulk purchases make up for the $40/year membership fee if utilized often enough. It is a regular location for me to purchase foodstuffs for my household. I suppose that's a thumbs-up. read more

This rating is for the AT&T kiosk at Sam's. Please do not buy your phone at Sam's. The AT&T rep Ethan was very helpful at first. We added a line and purchased 2 new iphones which were to arrive by mail. We received one phone but not the other and an email saying the 2nd phone would take at least 2 more weeks. When I called Ethan to see if there was anything he could do to get a phone sooner he said he would check with his manager and call me back. That's the last I heard from him! He didn't call me back and stopped answering when I called. We had to go to the AT&T store near the mall and it took about 3 hours for them to undo the mess that Ethan caused. But we walked out of that AT&T store with 2 new phones and our account all straightened out. Please avoid the phone station at Sam's and just go to an AT&T store. read more

After I received a text that they 'would be out in a moment'....I waited 30 minutes in the pick up line. 3 people after me received their order and left. When I went in to get my 6 things...it was in wrong!! The bag of lettuce was frozen. One item was not available but at the time of order it WAS available. One item was expired. DO NOT GO Yesterday, like many times, my dad (who's been a loyal, perfect credit customer for over 6 years ) gave me his Sam's Club card and sent me off to Sam's down the street to buy some steak to grill out. When I had gathered all the things that I was going to buy I headed to the cashier. When I tried to pay with my dad's card, the cashier called her manager because she said I couldn't pay with my dad's card. The manager told me I couldn't pay by any circumstances so I offered to call my dad and prove to her that I wasn't trying to steal anyone's money. Then, the woman told me to go with her to an empty cash register where she was cutting me off with every response telling me that there was no way to for me to pay with that card. When I was starting to get mad (never yelling), I called my dad anyway and explained to him what was happening. At the same time, the manager took my cart and told an associate to put all the things back. I asked her to speak with him but she was having nothing of it. Finally, she just told me I couldn't pay and gave me the card back. Having attracted the attention of many other people and feeling extremely embarrassed, I left Sam's empty handed and went to my car. There, I called my dad again and told him what happened. In about 15 minutes later he came to meet me in the parking lot and told me to go back in with him. Embarrassed, I really didn't want to go back in, but I went anyway because I wanted to tell the supervisor what had happened. As we went into the store, my dad immediately went up to the manager and tried to find out what had happened. The manager wasn't talking to us so she took us to her supervisor. There, the four of us talked about what had happened. Immediately when I told the supervisor what the manager had done, the manager was quick to say she didn't take my cart, when in all honesty, she did. She also refused to tell her boss that she didn't want to talk on the phone with my dad. She then proceeded to walk away huffing and puffing and making mad faces. I was so unimpressed by how she acted. In the end, the only thing the supervisor did was apologize to me. After that, I went back to my car infuriated about how unprofessional and mean the manager was to me, while my dad went to gather all the stuff up again. To add on to this situation, when he wanted to checkout, they messed up and the same manager came back to help him with an annoyed look on her fact. My dad was very upset about the way I was treated at Sam's despite our loyalty. Needless to say I didn't enjoy my steak yesterday. read more
