Pay your employees decent please! It is weird to see good people working hard dealing with rude customers, taking care of this business on the front end, and that for a couple pennies compared to the thousands cashed by the Kroger board members. I want to see clearance goods better labeled too and presented to ensure food waste is minimized. Grosses me out think about the abuse and manipulating price gouging across goods here then as stuff nears expiration it gets cut fifty percent, that should be the minimum to both assist farmers and producers who would rather the fruits of their labor reaches customers for free rather than the dumpster to compensate for the price gouging. It is really nice to see the new remodel do well here, brighter and well organized space, self checkouts are often closed though for no reason. The Kroger rewards program is sketch despite its advertising saying otherwise, gasoline discounts take a while to accumulate and rarely help save anything since other gas stations are cheaper just a mile away! read more

The expansion has resulted in a lovely trade off to how long it now takes to shop here. A private seating area above the food and Starbucks areas makes the ideal place to conduct business or to eat something you bought down below. Many other modern features make the Payless experience an interesting one. Ring yourself up as you shop, for instance. In spite of the massive increase in square footage, they don't have a commesurate grocery selection, which is kind of disappointing- not even a coffee bean grinder for fresh ground coffee. Does everyone in West Lafayette grind their own? Aww. Too bad. No coffee beans either. Oh well. At least you can eat that pack of organic strawberries upstairs, selected from the teeny, tiny fresh organic produce selection. Can't win 'em all! read more

Excellent experience shopping there always. All the fresh Produce best in town! The meat department staff is friendly as ever. The department has looked full and fresh . Would definitely have to say the meat department is top notch. Won't go anywhere else to get steaks anymore. Highly recommended. Jason at the counter cut steaks for me years ago. This is a great place to get some things u wouldn't really find at all stores normally I looked everywhere for good size king crab legs couldn't find them so we stopped here and I was pleased very good and they even had deals on snow crab clusters they had a place to get frozen mochi also a place to make ur own salad there is a large section of fresh bread and great cheese there's even a section of sushi and many different sandwiches salads just so much more different and there produce is well stocked and not to mention I can normally find fruit u don't always tend to find in other stores like pomegranate, horned mellon,dragon fruit, and even found passion fruit I was very pleased read more

I'm done with shopping at this, or any Kroger/Payless. Yesterday was the final straw. They were our go to grocery store for 20 years. I always felt their quality and prices were a decent match. Stuck with them through the never ending remodel. What they created inside is nice, but the parking lot is a disaster. Now on to their prices. The jewelry store priced cheese section. Bought bacon in the deli that was (not kidding) 90% fat. Bought gristly Roast Beef for $12.99/lb when their local competitor sells better quality for $8.99/lb. I feel like I'm being charged extra to pay for the remodel. Just because Marsh closed, you don't get to raise your prices. So I'm done. read more

This is just your average grocery store. Back home, I use Kroger and Pay Less is just a branch of the company. They have the same great selection and you can use your Kroger card and coupons. The setup is just like any other Payless/Kroger store and things tend to be fairly easy to find. They have a wide varitey of foods that I don't see back home, such as a cheese bar. It's a huge island near the deli with just mounds and mounds of any kind of cheese you could ever think of. Really cool. I prefer going to Payless because it's closer to my home and has more variety than a Wal-Mart or Meijer. They also have cheaper options. This location also just added a gas station which I'm really excited about. One of the worst things I had about this location was I earned all these fuel points, but no where to use them without driving all the way across town. Luckily, they just put one in! This one fits just right. ;) It is much smaller than your bigger stores like Wal-Mart so if you're just in for groceries and a few house hold items its perfect. The prices do tend to be a little higher, but the staff is the friendliest out of all of the stores I've been to. They have a great clearance section near the pet isle where you can score some great deals. The cheese station has a wonderful selection. One downside is the bakery did put out samples of "King Cake" during Mardi Gras season and as a girl from Louisiana I can say it was an insult to King Cake. It's a weekly stop for me though. I've also been to other Pay Less stores and this one is the better of them. read more

While at Purdue this summer, I learned quickly the grocery store options near campus are not so hot, and also overpriced. Head up to the Pay Less for much better prices and selection. The store was under construction while I was frequenting it over the summer, but it was still easy to navigate. There are bike racks out front for people crazy enough like me to bike with groceries, and plenty of parking in the lot. read more

This was my grocery store of choice for six years. Even through the Remodel I went to the store. But for the last 6 months or so I have chosen to go to the Greenbush location due to the fact that on the west side they never have the products advertising the sale. Especially if it's a good product. Tonight since I was on a time crunch, I went to the store specifically for some bacon that was advertised on sale.Of course they did not have it they only had more expensive bacon or bacon that I don't normally eat. I will not give the store another try. I've voiced my opinion twice to employees who seem worse than concerned, and I even wrote the corporate store and I got a letter back from the assistant store manager saying they were sorry and they would be happy to special order whatever they're out of. I am not special ordering my groceries when I don't even want to go to the store in the first place. So if you're looking to buy anything in the sale ad you might want to reconsider a different location. Because I'm pretty sure they're not going to have at this store.! read more

This place is disgusting!! About a month after I started shopping here I seen a woman in the deli wipe her nose and face with her gloves on then right back to making sandwiches with the same gloves. ICK! I called and let management know and they assured me they would take care of the problem. So just the other day I was in there again near the bakery area to grab some bread and seen a guy eating with his gloves on and continued working. Apparently this store has major sanitation issues. At this point I think it's better to switch grocery stores. Also the sushi is not that great. Maybe it's because I'm from out west and the sushi there is fresher and better but this stuff is pretty lacking IMO. read more

The newly remodeled Pay Less on the west side is a great place to shop. The store is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. They have added a huge cheese island which could rival most gourmet shops. I love the fountain drink and coffee selection which sometimes runs specials of any size for 99 cents! Payless is a great place to get a great deal. They discount discontinued/packaging change items for amazing sales. They have a good coupon policy (double up to 50 cents) and you can also use SmartSource or P&GeSaver to load coupons directly onto your shoppers card. Keep it up, Pay Less! read more

I really didn't like this place at all... It's very big and all but the selection of brands is very limited and it was very hard to find the specific things I was looking for. I don't even think it was that cheap either. It might just me.... I'm coming from shopping at Safeway where they had all the brands I use and very often buy one get one free offers and things like that so I don't know... I will be trying other grocery stores in the area and see if I can find something better. This is just a scale down Kroger; if that's even possible :-( read more

I like this store. Everyone here seems to be very friendly and I enjoy shopping here. The seafood and meat dept is amazing. Bakery is great too. The cons here are sometimes prices don't go for the price they are advised as and of course they are willing to go price check and change the price to the correct one but all that takes time and extra attention.. I find the way the discount and coupon to be a little more confusing than places like meijer but some prices are too good I have to get them here. read more

Kroger has some great savings but you really have to work at it. With digital coupons and other ones also. I dont disagree that may employees are very rude especially the check out I had a one on Sunday 4-12-15 that was terrible. She threw everything and bagged terrible. This store is far nicer than its name would suggest. They offer a great selection of groceries, including organic products many other stores in town don't carry. Produce quality has been generally good. Checkout lines are usually short, and self-checkout is available. The store's interior is much easier on the eye than many other grocery stores in town. read more

I am a big fan of Kroger, so as I am visiting Lafayette, I sought out this store for their Boars Head selection of deli meats. I arrived at the store around 10 a.m. on a Saturday morning, store was active with customers, many being out of town football fans stocking up. My first visit was the produce, and wow what a disappointment. They had green beans that I would have been ashamed to display. Produce staffers were taking up large amounts of floor space trying to stock with customers unable to shop freely. Seafood department near deli was not open for business. I thought for a while I was in Wall Mart. The rest of the store was nice, well stocked and clean. read more
