I really can't hate Sam's Club for being SUPER convenient when needing to grab something quick and using their Scan and Go app to buy everything quickly and be out the door without having to use the checkout lines at all, it's AMAZING!!! That's probably the one up that Sam's Club has over Costco is that convience vs standing in line to check out! Don't get me wrong, I also have my Costco membership as there are some things I'd rather get at Costco vs Sam's, but for the convince factor even when the store is crowded it wins! This includes the allowance of buying alcohol with Scan and Go, they just need to verify your ID at the end which isn't a huge hassle vs standing in line! Also, their cafe, you can also use the app to buy ahead and pick up with their scan and go line! Definitely helpful with hangry kids! Today my friend and I came to Sam's just for fun with our kids. We started off by getting food first so that the kids don't say they are hungry while walking around (yall know how kids are!) Side note: we truly believe Sam's hot dogs are way better than Costcos The isle were organized, great options to pick from and so many sales going on but one thing that my friend and I agree on was that there was like no trash cans anywhere! I was holding onto trash for a while just waiting to see a trash can and I'm not the type of person to leave trash randomly! So I highly suggest Sam's to please get a few more trash cans around the store. One of the best Sam's Clubs I've been to, with plenty of parking and a very clean and organized store. While (as with all SC stores) you need to shop carefully to ensure that you're scoring a bargain, I've been impressed with the freshness of the fruit and meats and especially the charcuterie. I'll admit that I'm surprised by the number of negative reviews. I suppose that I should qualify my positive review by noting the following: The parking lot remodeling was done in 2018, everything's normal now. Yes, you may have to walk a bit to get to the store if the lot's crowded but there are plenty of spaces. The store can, like other giant box stores, get crowded! Oft times people appear to be shopping for a small to medium-sized European country, and they have huge carts piled high. I've never dealt with their curbside pickup or pre-ordering anything off the website, so YMMV. I've also never dealt with the tire department, so you're on your own to find out if they're good or 'a bunch of thieves' as others here claim. Finally, I'd have to offer a mixed review of the Café 150 snack bar. The $1.50 hot dog combo is good, and a good value. Everything else...LOL! Even if it's cheap, do you want to eat greasy pretzels or school cafeteria style pizza? Still, for the items I'm looking for, this store is a standout. read more

I was very close to giving a "ONE STAR" rating. The main reason for giving it one more was that I encountered two different floor people who were extremely helpful when I asked questions. Negative ratings were: (1) The store was very messy, when my wife picked up the electric cart it was not plugged in although it showed 100% charged, and as she went through the store the charge went down very quick and she ended up abandoning it when we were about 3/4 done with our shopping, (2) When we got the check out section, there were only two (2) full-service registers open, thus very long lines, and (3) When we were leaving we saw that there was only one (1) plug where the electric carts were parked near the exit. read more

When I got it home and started cutting it up it was completely raw. I was so disappointed because I only purchased it to save time and so I didn't have to cook. I like having these "bulk store" memberships because I always get things I'll always need in bulk and comes out as a reasonable price (and not so many trips to the store).. Where I'm more "out than in", is the amount of packaging waste these stores generate. They custom package their products to not only carry more volume but also occupy more gigantic shelf real estate. I just purchased bulk sponges, in a pack of 21, and the 21 sponges were individually wrapped(!?!!?) Literally, arrive home, throw all the packaging in the trash because there's literally no other use for it. On top of that, some of the packaging isn't even recyclable... so it's pure waste:( I think Sams needs to step up their app-to-store syncing. It's impossible to rely on the app to find an item in/store and isle number. One has to flag down an employee, if there is any available, to find where to go. They also organize in a weird way; finding paper towel took me a solid 25 mins, and after finally flagging someone down, they pointed me to the other side of the store.. they weren't placed together with similar items... Have to go bathed in patience and this because their store is almost always packed too.. they're still doing something right if so! read more

Yea so no reason why random Sam's club employee should be racist or be able to make rude remarks. Recently went in and upon browsing the store I began getting followed/ harassed by some Hispanic lady working there, couldn't get a good look at her tag but is started with an M I think her name was Mary not sure. But I was met with very out of pocket statements about how "my kind usually steals". And she was "surprised to see I could even afford the membership to get in". I simply ignored and tried to mind my business until she started following me around the store telling me "my kind doesn't deserve to be here" and proceeded to call me the N word with a hard R. I get it to each there own have your own opinion it's America but this wasn't just that it was far more and seemed like she wanted to attack me just cause I'm black. It's unfortunate that I'm automatically hit with the profiling and judged heavy by the cover because of my color I'm very glad my family wasn't present because authorities would have definitely been called to sort out this mess. Needless to say it was a very uncomfortable visit I will no longer shop here if that's the case and I suggest many of you folks should steer clear too. I had two Goodyear all weather Assurance tires installed by Sam's on 4/21 & 5/5. Then on 5/6 I had another flat but decided to take it to discount tire. They informed me my new tires had a tire tread reading of an 8. Both should have been brand new tires as had to wait for them to be ordered then installed. I went to the Dezavala Sam's location on 5/7 to discuss and the associate and manager, Keith, both also saw a tread of 8. Although the computer notes should have been a 9. So I explained how is a new tire already worn. Got the run around about still have a warranty and minimal difference, but that's besides the point if have to use said warranty sooner rather than later due to tire life being less than should be. We agreed to have new tires ordered and check the tread on those before being placed on any vehicle and see if the manufacturer is in fact supplying poor quality tires. Needless to say Keith did not follow up and when I called the store on 5/19 to follow up kept being placed on hold after being told tires in stock but would not have manager come to phone, even got disconnected and called back only to have no one answer after 45mins. Sam's club is cheating their customers selling faulty tires and not owning up to their or manufactures faulty product. I wouldn't have known had been sold faulty tires. My prior tires were a 5 on tread and only about 30k miles used. They claim warranty will cover but you're still paying and much sooner due to wear. There are some great prices on some items. Gas is usually lower than at regular gas station.. but it's not top tier gasoline ( shell has top tier gasoline but pricy and H‑E‑B has same quality gasoline as sams ) do watch the expiration dates on food items as some are too close to current dates and you may not use all items by the experation date ....they have fun seasonal things and depending on your club membership you get money back( I like that).. also good pharmacy ... look at club membership ( you don't have to have it to use pharmacy but you get a better value with membership ......for your other stuff you can check out on your phone with the app.. I really like that feature... it's easy to do. No having to wait in line . The little restaurant area gets busy on weekends prices are about 2.50 for a slice of pizza and a lg drink or a hot dog n drink...great value we all like... Half the parking lot in front of the entryway is closed right now. Super inconvenient for such a busy store. Once you manage the dicey parking and front door, the store is clean, not cluttered with goods and well laid out. I love walking in and finding something I need with Instant Savings. If you are a Plus Member you get a rebate at least once a year based on your spending. This is my favorite Sam's in SA. Staff is friendly and helpful. Bakery is awesome. Butcher shop will cut or grind what you need. If I had one criticism of Sam's it is this - like Walmart - they rearrange or discontinue items without warning. Drives me crazy. read more

This particular location has a gas station that offers a (usually) $.05 discount to members, making it a great spot to gas up. The station is also open to the public and offers a slight discount on gas if you use a Wal-Mart or Sam's Club gift card. Also noteworthy: the staff at the pharmacy in this club is *amazing*. Demo: serving gourmet butter at Sam's Club. To preface this, I did this job as a medical student and thought it would be a good side job. After all, I was once interviewed by the Food Network. I was working as a demo person today from 10-6p AND today around 3:50p, I was kicked out of the Sam's club on De Zavala for asking for my butter to be dropped as product was running out. I asked 3 times over the course of 2.5 hours. I was running primarily out of garlic butter (best seller). The manager Robert told me to "get out" after I asked him not to talk down to me. He said "the butter is not a priority". I told him forget it...and walked away he ran down behind me...linebacker about to tackle style...and told me "you can go home". Of note, I do not work for Sams Club. My supervisor Lacey called me as I told her what was going on. When she called him she was cussed out saying "no one gives a f&&@ about that butter"! THIS is especially piss poor as Robert did not have the COJONES to say this colorful language to my face. Instead he hid behind his technology to compensate for his already fragile ego. I'm sure he had a big jacked up Texas edition truck to compensate for other cosas...just saying. The lack of testicular fortitude continued as he sent his flunkey to escort me out. Yes...I was forced to quickly get my stuff and told I had to leave and followed out of the store like a criminal. This was unprofessional and discriminatory. I strongly believe that if I was not African-American this would not have happened. This was a side job for me. I did these back in 2013 at Costco and was NEVER treated that way. #TRUMPSAmerica Due to the prejudicial nature of this, I have filed a formal complaint with Sam's Club Headquarters. Really good checkout lanes that move pretty fast and the line doesn't ever get super long when I go during the busy times. Love that I'm able to get in and out of this place without spending the majority of my time at the checkout and exit. My girlfriend and I came here to do some bulk shopping one weekend and had to get her card renewed. The process was really simple, and the customer service representative was exceptionally polite and even told us about a $15 Wal-Mart card for memberships. Not bad for only $25 and both of us were able to get a card, right? The store was pretty clean and they actually had a lot of items we use on sale, such as body wash and toilet paper. They had a huge selection of frozen food items, ice cream, baked goods, and other miscellaneous items. But of course the deals are only really good if you are planning to buy in bulk, otherwise it can get rather pricey, quick. I love this Sams because the lines for checkout were not extremely long...definitely nothing like their brother, Wal-Mart. I think we only waited in line for 5 minutes before actually being able to check out. The cashier was very friendly as well and helped explain a few questions to us as well. Yesterday evening (12/17) my husband and I went to Sam's for our usual Saturday shopping trip. Both business and household items. After we unloaded everything into our SUV I noticed a frying pan I had been meaning to return...since we were already there...I decided to go in myself to make the return (5:50 pm). One customer was ahead of me...the 3 young ladies behind the counter were laughing and joking with this customer. I was next...went up to the counter...was totally ignored....the 3 young ladies were in conversation with each other...never acknowledged me or said someone will be right with you. It was obvious I was not important to them. I put the frying pan on the counter and said I need to return this item. Finally one young lady helped me....but also stopped in the middle of the transaction to have a conversation with her co-workers. As I am typing this complaint...I have been on hold with Sam's Club for 20 minutes...I asked to speak to a manager so I could have the problem addressed. Obviously these associates are poorly trained on the proper rules of customer service.....they also lack having common sense. I have better things to do than point out the flaws in their training. I'm disappointed with Sam's Club (De Zavala). While in the store, near the books and clothing, I was waiting patiently to move forward with my cart while other shoppers browsed the books and clothes. I couldn't pass since the area was only wide enough for two carts, and a couple was blocking my path to move forward. I didn't say anything, let my LO play with a book, and silently waited to pass. An older, heavyset man (think someone who paid too much attention to arm and shoulder day) said, "Excuse me" to get to more clothing. Before I could answer or check to back up the cart, he grabs my cart, moves it to the left, while my toddler is sitting in the seat. The other cart finally passes at the same time, and I tell the man, "Please don't touch a cart that has a child in it." He then tells me to "Get over it bitch! I said excuse me" in front of a wide number of customers. When I ask if he's really going to curse me out in front of my kid, his woman companion told me to "...fuck off; we said excuse me. Stop being a bitch about it." I looked for a customer service rep, and spoke with a manager, yet each failed to act with a sense of urgency. Needless to say my trip was cut short; I checked out and made my way to the car. I then tried to follow up with the manager I spoke with over the phone. It took 1.5 hours to find out if they even followed up on my complaint. I never spoke to the original manager again. Another manager said: The manager walked the floor and couldn't locate them. We knows they aren't in the store right now. Since they aren't in the store, there's nothing we can do anymore." I'm so ready to cross Sam's and Wal-Mart off my list permanently. These two stores typically attracts a certain type of shopper, and I'm not sure this bird wants to be associated with these feathers. Recently got a membership here based on a LivingSocial deal offering a year for $45, along with a handful of free food coupons (rotisserie chicken, take and bake pizza, cookies, etc). Have been all of twice, but it was quite an excursion for us when we made the trip. Easily spent over an hour here. Okay, fine, the majority of that hour was me following my boyfriend around to all of the samples- they're good and plentiful. I think that's what we had for lunch, actually. Their frozen section has lots of options for families, particularly those with teenagers who seem to be bottomless pits of constant hunger for junkfood. Heaven forbid you toss them a salad or suggest edamame. I love their large selection of fresh meats (which you can watch being cut behind the glass partrition), and fresh and frozen fish options- hello, omega 3s! There's also an extensive fresh-baked-bread section that we took advantage of: four feet of submarine-style bread in a twin pack, for $5? Sign me up! Low carb diet be damned! What you can't buy in bulk here doesn't exist. Whether it's giant-size cans of veggies or cafeteria style condiments, a bag of dogfood the size of a king size bed, a five pound flower bouquet for $20 (casually inform your significant other), or a five-pack of any standard grocery store item, if it's large and in charge, it's here to be bought. read more
