$7 Pork Short Ribs Lunch Plate. Tender meat and amazing sauce!

You come to Sam's Bar B Que for the food and leave full and happy. I had the Pork Short Ribs with rice which was a great amount of food for the price! The Ribs were tender and tasty, but Sam's secret BBQ sauce is what made the plate one of a kind! Would definitely come back again to eat more good food and hear more stories from Sam himself. Note: Sam only makes a handful of lunches per day so get there early if you want some great BBQ

The space has a bit of a warehouse vibe--casual, open, nothing fussy--but the service was friendly, quick, and really welcoming. I had the chicken salad sandwich with dried cranberries, which was fresh and hit that perfect sweet-savory balance. My husband went with a salad and paired it with one of their IPAs, which he said was spot on. All in all, a great, easy stop with good food, solid beer, and no nonsense. We'll definitely keep this one in mind for future drives up north.

We stopped in for a beer after a long day of hiking and thank goodness the beer here is icy cold. It was so refreshing! There were plenty of choices of beer on the menu for the day and we were able to taste a few options before getting a full pour. Our server was very nice and helpful. I ended up having 2 pints of the gold buckle honey lager. All the beers I tasted were fairly light flavored, which was great. Super cold and refreshing. The beers, I definitely enjoyed. We also decided to try some food as well. I noticed their kitchen is a place where they just prep and reheat items, and most things seemed microwaved. I'm sure the food was cooked somewhere but it just wasn't my cup of tea. Other reviewers seem to enjoy, but everything just tasted okay, a little bland, but we ate everything, it just wasn't my favorite. And next time when coming here I would just enjoy some beers because that was great! And staff were friendly.

There were pull pork, salad, corn bread and butter, mac & cheese, some kind of purple-ish cold slaw, mash potatoes and gravy, and a homemade cinnamon apple cake. Several different bbq sauces. They served some alcohol. You have to buy it, of course. The entertainment was funny and great. Loved all the songs they sang. Dinner started at 7pm. Entry to dinner started at 6:30pm. All the young servers were great. They were busy and helpful. They had animals, birds, mini golf, this 4 table ping pong table, escape room, axe throwing, old photo shoot ($15pp), mini museum, big chess game, connect 4, etc. But we didn't get to enjoy all the games because we accidentally took the long way to get to Blazin' M Ranch. Instead of 30 mins, it took us like 45 mins ish. By the time we arrived, everyone was starting to go in the barn for the dinner and show. The best is to grab a strong beverage of choice or two at the saloon beforehand to make it all so much funnier. A few extra fun touches before the dinner show:: a mini rail ride around the property and hanging out with the petting zoo animals. We paid for our old west portraits to get taken and at $40 for a couple to try on the costumes and make it happen was fun. As far as the petting zoo, bring some fresh produce in your pockets for the goats and the absolutely charming mini horse Gucci. He steals the petting zoo show. The dinner: soooo much great BBQ and dessert. We had delicious smoked chicken and pulled pork. Sides of Mac and cheese, homemade slaw, honey glazed corn bread, homemade mashed potatoes and the award winning grandmas apple cinnamon powdered cake. They encourage you to grab seconds. We couldn't even finish our firsts. Ok the show: it was outright hilarious. The owners and hired gun Eric Wildman Williams absolutely put on the next comedy and music infused hour show. You won't want that to ever end. I cannot say this enough: it was well worth the VIP package price we paid. If 10/5 stars were available, that's what they would get.

Here at COLT Grill I had The Filly, a salad the menu described as "romaine, walnuts, pears, cranberries, bleu cheese crumbles, cranberry vinaigrette". I opted for the "small" ($8.50) over the" large" ($13) and it was a beautiful salad both in presentation and taste. But the salad portion of the menu also said one could "add chicken or smoked turkey" ($4) or "add beef brisket" ($5) and I did. Did you just tell me I could get a perfect, tasty, ample salad with a separate, robust and delicious side of BBQ beef brisket for $13.50? I wasn't just ready to fly to Arizona; I was ready to move to Cottonwood. This meal was delicious. A "small platter of smoked brisket" ($14.50) was enjoyed equally by another at my table but, with my bowlful of brisket, I paid little attention to that other meal. My attention instead was aimed at a nearby table's indulgence in the smoked Mac-n-cheese ($4.75) and Cheesy Jalapeño Corn Bread ($4). Jealous I was, for I had no room for anything more. What a winner. COLT Grill might be half the reason I return to this area in the future.

Took a bit of time to get our food since a large group entered right before we did, but food was definitely worth the wait. My wife and I both got a zinger basket each with thighs (cause we like dark meat) and it had a solid crunch - that chicken has some armor and delightfully crisp. Hot is decently hot, so while it won't melt your mouth off if you have some spice tolerance, it will make you sweat. The sides and sauces here are fantastic. Sidewinder fries are amazingly crisp, almost a hybrid potato chip and french fry. The sweet potato tater tots are also divine, especially with the blackstrap aioli. Slaw is also unique but needed for some freshness. Okra was a bit greasy and could have been a bit crisper, but if you like okra, you won't be disappointed. They got some cool merch too. Well worth a visit if you're in Sedona!

Had to double check though because we walked up and it was a gas station and a jeweler (which also looked to be part of the gas station) but yes, we were in the right place. The smell of the chicken was delightful as soon as the door opened. There was a bit of an unprecedented heat wave in Sedona but they had some potable air units blowing in the dining room to keep it comfortable. There is a sign on the counter that said something like "Pick your sauce level carefully. No refund will be given". They do call themselves the No Apology Chicken Shack. As nearly zero level spice tolerance, I was a little nervous to even go with the mild level. We got the Zinger basket with the coleslaw and the sidewinder fries. The fries were really good! If I were to order again, I'd go with the mac and cheese instead of the coleslaw, but it was super hot out and didn't seem like two hot sides + hot chicken was a good idea. The chicken was hot, that's my opinion. It was hot even at mild. I might have baby taste buds, but I was thankful the fountain drinks were self serve because I needed the cold soda and ice cubes. It was well cooked though and flavorful. I was bummed they were sold out of the pudding because that would have been a nice relief. I should've done the no spice but tried to be brave, a "when in Rome" situation. There were people sitting behind us that eating the hottest level they had and I was convinced they were seconds from combustion. All in all, it was a good experience, would return but would go no spice next time. Oh, one more thing, the bathroom situation was a little strange because you do have to go into the jeweler/gas station situation but it's okay.

They have daily specials and I took advantage of today's special. A 16-oz beer and the Robbie cheeseburger for $11. I'm sorry, that's an amazing deal and well worth it. The cheeseburger was juicy and full of flavor (see the pics). I couldn't eat it all and took half home for later. It doesn't come with fries, like the normally priced option, so I ordered the jalapeño cheese curds again. I haven't had them since my first review and these came out hot and spiced just right. NOT greasy at all, which is amazing period. Again, I wish they had a chipotle or spicy ranch option for sauce, but the ranch did its job. The times I've been here I've found the food consistent. Service is always good...one bartender/server runs the day shift and she's good. Rimrock food options are slim, but the menu here is vast and there is something for everyone. Definitely a solid choice in VV for locals or if you're passing through!
