They were so nice and anticipated our needs before we could even ask. I loved the TVs with old Westerns playing. The meat was SO good. It was Smokey in the perfect way. I just wanted to keep taking bites to just taste it! The BBQ sauce was not my favorite, but by no needs bad. This is so subjective-- but just not my personal preference. Order the onion rings, they are obscenely good. The fries have a satisfying crunch. Their biscuits are very large, made of flour, and are fresh, hot, and soft; definitely seem homemade. The ribs are so tender they fall off the bone. Pulled pork is equally as tender. Brisket was a little tougher which is to be expected. BBQ sauce is tasty, slightly tart, and a little thin. I prefer it over the thicker options as their sauce enhances the meat as opposed to covering up the flavor of the meat. Service was great; very friendly, helpful, and prompt. There's at least a half dozen other items on the menu that I would like to try out given the opportunity in the future. It's a shame I don't live nearby, or I would definitely be back sooner. They have a little outside seating near their smoker and the road, and the view is very pretty. The serenity is broken up by the busy street it is on, but it's still worth sitting outside. I judge a barbecue place by the number of napkins I use while eating a pulled pork sandwich! I used 3! Shoestring fries compliment the sandwich and they didn't overdose the pickles. I am from the south and have had a hard time finding good bbq. The service, both times were great! Waitress very friendly. Looks like a hole in the wall, which is where one usually finds the best food. The food was good but missing that special taste I so have missed. Service was 5 star all the way. Atmosphere was 5 star all the way. BBQ sauce is homemade and 4 out of 5 stars. Taco salad was 5 stars. Hamburger and grilled cheese sandwich was a 5 star. The ribs was a let down for us. We got 4 ribs that were over cooked. They had a good smoke on them but I was unable to eat half of my ribs because the meat was so dry and over cooked. The pulled pork was also very dry. The brisket was good. It had great flavor, good smoke, and juicy. I am hoping that the ribs were overly dry because they were so thin. As for the pulled pork. Would I come back? Yes. But I would make sure to request a thicker and juicier cut of ribs. I gave this review a 3 star because when I go to a BBQ house, I expect to eat ribs that are well prepared. read more

Stopped by for a late lunch. Servicer was very nice and friendly. Unfortunately our meal wasn't good. We ordered the BBQ Combo, the brisket must of been made a week ago, it was inedible - dry, hard, partially burnt - these were not burnt ends ordered. The bbq brisket we are use too is moist and succulent. The 4 bone rack of ribs was tender, the pulled pork was stringy and dry. The jo-jo potatoes were also dry and felt old as well. We were disappointed that the chef didn't put good bbq on the plate. We are sorry to say, we won't be going back. read more

Found Babe's on Yelp on our return trip from Sedona to Scottsdale. We stopped in around noon on a Wednesday and were greeted and seated. It was very busy and with only one server, we just waited patiently. It was worth the wait. I had the beef sandwich and the hubs had the pork with sauce on the side. We really enjoyed our lunch. If I could leave less than 1 star I would. My husband and I were excited for BBQ but it was terrible. We got the ribs, the pulled pork and the chicken and they we're all extremely lacking. It tasted as if they cooked the meat without seasoning it and then poured BBQ sauce on it. No amount of barbecue sauce would make unseasoned meat taste good. The baked beans were trash, again no seasoning. They didn't taste like baked beans. There were also racist undertones among the staff. Having dinner here was uncomfortable and awkward. We were visiting from out of state and found Babe's BBQ one night for dinner. OMG, it was AWESOME! The place is very nice, clean, and the staff was super friendly and totally on the ball! We ordered and our dinners were here within 5-10 minutes. I ordered the BBQ Combo, which included baby back ribs, pulled pork, pulled beef, beans, salad, one additional side, and a very delicious homemade biscuit. As you can see from the picture, it was enormous! I'm a big eater but still took more than half of it home! The price was amazing at just $20 and change. Incredible! Honestly we walked in, looked at the menu, and almost left with the menu seemingly basic. I'm glad we didn't leave, we were very happily surprised by the food. The food portions are large first of all and the pieces match that's for sure. In any case I ordered the wings, the mustard sauce was my favorite. Plus the wings were nice and crunch, moist inside, and plenty of meat on the bone. We were up in Camp Verde for a weekend to visit some of the local wineries and we were told that this place had amazing barbecue. I can attest to that being true since we went there two times in a row. The only reason they won't get a five star review is the second order's sides were screwed up a bit.
