I reached out and gathered estimates from more than 15 places in the area. Every other contractor didn't seem to grasp the complexities of the work I was trying to get quoted, but I could tell James completely understood and listened to me. His price was also very fair. He made the whole process straightforward. When a couple unexpected problems came up, he explained the situation to me and provided me with fair options. My biggest fear was if mold was behind the tile - he was confident it wasn't. But of course I asked if it was and he did give me a price like I asked so I would be prepared. The work took 2 days due to drying time and he was able to work with my weird schedule as well. Definitely will use company in the future. He can buy says he pays his men $30. An hour when I told him that he forgot that he told me that lie not to be trusted. The countertop it was never fixed. It's not level at all. And instead of putting the clamps to hold the sink in place on the bottom of the sink, they decided they would do a real c***** c*** job around it. Our front doors were in serious need of restaining and we asked around and had a few quotes but one…read moreonly worked on new and previously unstained door, some were quite pricey, and some would do the staining if the doors were cleaned and prepped. We contacted Handy Pro and sent them photos as well as a description of the Fiberglass doors and got what seemed a reasonable quote. The temperature needed to be at least 40 degrees for re-staining. On Monday, 02/24/2020, thanks to the near 50-degree weather, we were able to proceed. The original flakes needed to be stripped off first. From start to finish, it took Mark Widmaier of HandyPro three hours to get the job done. Mark was very professional and focused on getting the job done right. He even had us closely examine the finished job to point out any areas or spots needing touch ups. We're quite pleased with the result. (We did need to leave the doors slightly ajar until bedtime but was well worth the inconvenience.) Before-and-after photos of fiberglass doors are posted. Of course, durability is important and we obviously won't know about that for a number of years. Handy Pro has experienced skilled trades that can tackle pretty much anything you could need for your house. Mark himself has many skills beyond prepping and staining a door. On top of that - damage to adjacent areas such as gouge in my floor, paint on brand new light fixture, damage to oven when driving screws to seat, paint on cupboard, etc etc, They came back a couple times but everything still isn't fixed. I'm attaching a photo showing my new oven that they installed - It wasn't seated properly the first time (wasn't flush to cupboard / wasn't screwed in) so they came back to "fix" it and now it has significantly damaged my wall.... And - I live in Northville. I've updated my Yelp Profile but it still shows California.
