My bike was having issues changing gears and inconsistent while climbing hills. This guy is a joke. I am reading these other reviews and find it funny that he rec'd 5 stars & I think he either paid these people or he's paying Yelp to remove the real reviews. There is no way that this many people had a good experience with this creep. So why did I give this joker 1 star? To start off, he clearly has NO clue how to work on bikes. He claims to "fix" bikes yet he has no clue about bottom brackets or the difference between the large hollow spindle and BB bearings, what to do with them, etc. I've been riding for over 25 years and know a thing or two about road bikes and could spot in 2 minutes that this guy is a fraud. I was up in Cameron Park visiting my mother-in-law and had issues with my chain and my bearings so I thought I would take it in and get it checked out. My 5 yr old grandson has more knowledge about bikes than Chris. And to top it off, he had this lecherous gaze the whole time I was speaking to him which totally creeped me out. I ended up not leaving my bike with him and took it down the street to a "real" bike shop. Finally, his selection of bikes is pretty lousy. Don't think this place will last long.... read more

I brought bike to shop for tune up and new inner tubes. This owner does not back the products he sells and has no intention to provide customer service. After 2 months sitting in my garage, the front tire went flat. I brought the bike back to shop and asked the attendant to check the inner tube. All he did was fill the tire with air and sit it aside. Went back after a week, asked if the inner tube was checked, the owner said they filled it with air and its holding. I explained it was a slow leak and the tube should be check. The owner preceded to give excuses how tubes are iffy, they can be tricky, it's just the way tubes are, on and on. I left it there another week, went back and asked owner of shop if he did anything about the inner tube. Said it was filled and holding air, he doesn't take tubes out to inspect them. read more

Great local bike shop. Chris is a very friendly and knowledgeable shop owner. I haven't purchased a bike from him (yet) but have number a number of parts from him. Called him yesterday needed a pretty tough to find cassette that I needed asap. Called several shops and he, like most around did not have it in stock. He was the only one that said he could order it and have it the next day. I picked it up today and the cost was comparable to what I could habe purchased it for online and waited several days for. Great place to go if you want to get ripped off. Every time I went there, Chris wouldn't stop trying to sell me one of his over-priced bikes (even after I say no and I just want regular maintenance on the bike I have). Then he tries selling me parts I didnt need, and with the parts I had no choice (but to buy), I'm not convinced that the parts I paid for were the parts I actually got. Tip: If you order parts through him, get proof that the parts you bought were the parts installed, and tell him to give you any old parts he removes. He completely flaked on me more than once in the 2 years I did business at this shop, and he has proved himself absolutely untrustworthy. If you choose to do business here he will either create more problems to hike up the bill, or milk the problems you have until he has squeezed as much as he can out of you. Example of the last experience I had here before switching to a different shop: I had to bring my bike in 3 times due to problems with my shifter. He only pretended to fix it (to build a case that I need a replacement), and during the last trip finally stated I need a new shifter. When I took it into another shop for a second opinion, all they had to do was clean it. Now it works perfectly! How can a person expect to stay in business with ethics like this? read more

Sold me a defective BMX with broken/defective rim, the back rim was dented which I thought was just a design at first, which then shortly after him putting air in the tires he let me ride it and buy it, the NEXT DAY! after 3 hours of riding in total on the bike and learning how to bunny hop off a sloped curb the tire popped from the dents in the rims, he told me it was my fault despite seeing the dents there before I bought the bike thinking it just came like that as a weird rim design seeing as it was a BMX Bike which are almost always some design or weird color to them and the dents aren't aligned or scratched at all which would happen if I hurt the rim or hit the tire too hard, this doesn't happen off of 4 inch curbs that are sloped, sickens me I confronted him and recorded it and he kept contradicting himself in his absurd lies, luckily the video I have will be enough to get some of my money back, DON'T trust him he will try to befriend you and then will sell you defective items and kick you out the store when you tell him you're recording, thanks for the broken rim and tire you disgusting rat! read more

I seem to have a different view from everyone else who has ever been to this shop and posted on yelp so I will elaborate First the good items, the shop is well located in a local strip shopping area. Chris, the owner, provides a discount for public employees which I feel is a nice element to any business. Since the business is close by the home I just purchased, I brought in an older Trek bike to be serviced. After the initial questions as to why I wanted to revive this bike, he tried to sell me a new bike. I was not interested in this so we went through the different items which included a new chain and derailleur. Chris figured up the cost of the items and said it was to be nearly $200. which I was alright with. I was given no written estimate only a tag to pick the bike up the following Friday. This is when things began to go wrong for me. He asked for payment in advance and indicated that some folks do not pick up bikes once worked on. I paid the amount of the invoice, not seen, but I have never done this for any auto repair or any other repair of any type. Perhaps Chris has been burned in the past but I do not feel this is good business practice and makes the customer feel as if they are not regarded as honest. When I went to pick up the bike a younger associate was at the shop, not Chris. I gave the associate my pick up slip and he initially mentioned that there were several items that were not paid for. When the associate mentioned that the chain and derailleur had not been paid for I told him that Chris and I had discussed these items for the original invoice. He said I owed $29. I said this was already taken care of in the original invoice, the associate got Chris on the phone several times. Still demanding the $29. be paid I was about to call Chris when he arrived at the shop. By this time I had been in the shop around 15 minutes and was getting rather annoyed. By now the discrepancy was down to the chain because the associate had now found the derailleur on the invoice. Chris now wanted $10. for the chain. I told him we had talked about the chain originally I had no copy of the invoice estimate and I had never received a call, as most other repair shops do when other services and repairs are needed and not in the original agreement. All this about nothing, but poor customer service. I will not recommend this business to any of the public service employees I work with nor will I do business with this shop ever again. read more

Chris did a great job in tuning up both my mountain and road bikes. He gave me options on parts with varying price ranges. He was very clear as to the difference in performance of the differently priced items. The tune ups were great and my bikes run beautifully. My brakes weren't quite right at first, but he quickly changed the settings to fit my small hands. Great job. I will be going back for my biking needs. Oh, and the price was very fair! read more
