I was right by the Fair Oaks Bridge on the American River Trail, half a mile away from this shop I had seen before but never stopped at. I had to decide if I was going to walk or call for a ride. I ended up walking, took my cycling shoes off and went in socks haha, not too bad actually. Fortunately, Adaman was there and had exactly what I needed. I caught him in the middle of something, but he still took the time to help and even replaced the tube for me, which I really appreciated. He also pointed me in the right direction for a proper pump and spare tube so I don't run into this again. I'll definitely be back, maybe even to look into a bike upgrade down the road. And once they get coffee and beer going, I'll for sure be stopping in more often. Thanks again for getting me back on the road.

Only to find out the delivery driver who gave such good customer service was actually the owner of the business! It blew my mind. If they post the video you can tell if you look at my face, and just know - that it takes A LOT to impress an ugly person and I couldn't be more impressed with their level of expertise and customer service! We came in today to purchase a couple of insulated water bottles for our bikes. Competing pricing and the products were in stock; makes for a successful trip to Folsom Bike. This Store has a lot to offer and is well stocked with bikes, and accessories when we came in today. We will definitely be back to this location for our next bike services.

Beware! I brought…read moremy wife's internal gear 7-speed nexus hub in for service in a Saturday. The staff told us they would look at it on Wednesday and let us know if they could fix it. On Thursday, they finally called - and told us they would try - but we have to pay for their hours either way. We reluctantly agreed (since we had a gift certificate, it was sort of 'free'). A week went by - and they told us they couldn't fix it, but they could order us a new wheel fr $450. Which was weird, because I found the exact part on trek's website for $180 and could have it shipped to their store. They told us that wasn't the right part (it was - I'm pretty proficient with bikes and can read a spec sheet). So, when we got to the shop, they claimed we owed $150 of work to get our bike back in the same condition we dropped it off 2 weeks earlier. Rather than fight with them, we paid to just get out of there. I then took the bike to Del Rio Bike Shop in East Sac, and the staff there had the hub fixed in 20 minutes for $30 and were back and rolling again.

Overpriced and Rude - Avoid No Xhaust…read more Took my NAMI Burn-E scooter to No Xhaust for a simple steering shaft replacement. I already had the part, yet they quoted me over $400 just for labor. When I asked why, they gave a confusing excuse about needing tools but claimed I wasn't "paying for them"--just that the cost was included. That's ridiculous. I called back and offered a fair price, but they were rude and dismissive. No willingness to work with me or treat me like a customer. Totally unprofessional. If you ride electric scooters or PEVs, look elsewhere. No Xhaust will overcharge you and talk down to you if you question it.

I've driven by The Ride many times on my way to and from home but never managed to find time to…read morestop in. Well, today I did and boy am I happy I did! I met Sean who is one of the owners, and he was so nice answering all of my questions about their services and bike tune ups. He was patient and incredibly helpful, I was blown away. Having just relocated from SF which has a multitude of bike shops all over city, it was refreshing to walk into a place and not be treated like I was simply some number in line. Allow me to explain the differences. Attitude: SF= snooty, sometimes downright rude and pretentious hipsters who you know make fun of your yuppie PUBLIC bike when you drop it off for a tune up. I know it's not "cool" and heralds a hip lifestyle of riding the streets but I like it and you should respect that. The Ride= Sean was pleasant and smiled and said bring it in, we can tune it up no problem. Costs: SF= they will charge you an arm and a leg ($100+) and not tell you what the work entails. My tire was flat in a week and wanted to charge me another $100 to repair it !?!? OR they try to give you the wrong bike back that isn't yours. Seriously, it happened to me. The Ride= I haven't dropped my bike off yet but I was quoted $55 and whatever parts or extras would be run by me for approval before being charged. I'd tune my bike up more often and keep it riding better at that price! The Ride is a small locally owned business. And it's important to support such great people who only want to help their neighbors and provide excellent customer service. If they don't have it, they can order it for you or provide suggestions. I saw a GORGEOUS bike from a brand called Simcoe which looks amazing. And these guys are the only ones in the area to carry it. Sacramento seems to have a bike friendly culture, but it's attitude about biking is less pretentious and people bike because they seem to enjoy it not because it's some political statement. So go take your bike that you love and have the owners at The Ride take care of you and your happy healthy ride!
