We had been shopping around for some prices on getting some tree work done due to concerns that one of our pine trees had pine beetle damage, and a eucalyptus with a weak top kept losing large branches in our front yard. We were afraid that the pine might come down on our house. Called up Sam on a referral from one of our friends and he came over right away to assess our needs. He was professional and personable when he arrived and quoted us a fair rate, saying he could have a crew come out within two days to take care of our problem. He and his employees showed up this morning, and I have to say we received excellent service. They had the pine down in less than an hour and at no time did we feel like our property was in danger of being damaged. As far as the eucalyptus that had the weak top, Sam did a top-notch job trimming it all up so it is no longer a safety hazard. He took the time to study how the tree was growing and triple checked his work after every cut. In addition to using the chainsaw on the eucalyptus he finished it with pruners to give it a good shape. His crew cleaned the waste up completely after the job was done. Watching these guys work together was like magic. They operated safely, had great communication with each other, high quality equipment, and every one of them was courteous. If I could give more stars for the peace of mind they brought my family I would give them at least 10! After seeing all of the very positive reviews on Yelp, I had high expectations, setting me up for disappointment. They exceeded my high expectations in every way. I called Tuesday morning, my call was returned right away and they came by and gave me a quite reasonable estimate that same day. We have 3 oaks that needed trimming, and one huge eucalyptus that was a mess. I wasn't sure what they could do with it, but they assured me it would not be a problem. They came early on Friday morning and were done by 1pm. All of the trees are now beautiful. When they left that afternoon, the beautiful trees were the only clue that they had been there at all. We called Sam's for an estimate bid to remove a tree stump. Mike came out and was very professional. We had a nice discussion about what we needed, how they would access the location, and how we could prepare the site for them for the work. He provided a very reasonable quote and completed the tasks within a couple weeks (they have been REALLY busy). We interviewed 3 tree service companies, and even though the quote from Sam's was a little more, they were so knowledgeable, and told us we needed to contact the different underground utility companies, and gave us the number to call. They are very busy, but finally we got a date to remove 3 trees on this property. They showed up on time, and got to work right away. They worked really hard on removing and getting the stumps out of the 2 trees in front. The one in the back yard was so close to the fence that they cut a low as possible and said they would not grow back. They chipped every limb, and took away two huge pieces of the trunk of the Sycamore tree. They swept, and cleaned the property so nicely, We were more than pleased. Everyone who sees it, is amazed at the job that was done. All the neighbors who watched, were amazed at the work ethic of this company. I contacted Sam Thursday afternoon about having some trees trimmed prior to selling my home. He called with a quote early Friday morning, and was on the job an hour after that. Very impressed with such prompt service. Our trees were very overgrown and were weighing down the phone lines in the front yard. I used Sam's Tree Service to remove fourteen dying pine tree of over 70' in height. They had to access my area through the yards of two neighboring properties. They arrived as scheduled and performed the work in a timely fashion so as to not disturb the neighborhood any more than necessary. They addressed both neighbors properties in a professional manner and returned them to an enhanced state. All work was done as promised and their pricing was in line with other bids I received. Though I must say that the other company, upon further review, stated they couldn't do the job and make a profit. I would highly recommend Sam's Tree Service to anyone. We were very impressed by Sam's Tree Service and their skill, efficiency and speed at removing our Monterey Pine. They removed a very tricky, very large tree that was 10 ft from the house. This is my second review for Sam's but they are so good I had to post an other. We've used them twice before for smaller jobs but it came time for some serious work on our 10 oaks and one sycamore Mike came out to look at the job. Let me just say Mike is the absolute best. He looked at my concerns made some very good suggestions and gave us a really good bid, so good that I never considered calling anyone else. He told us they were a little backed up and it might be December before they could get to us, no problem since this was not a pressing job. Mike called back about a week later and said they could be there Monday if that would work, you think. They showed up first thing Monday morning and hit the job big time. Let me just say that the tree work is excellent and they clean up so it's better when they came in. When they finished Mike came back by to make sure we were happy. There was one branch that I thought I'd asked be cut, but I may not have asked. I showed it to him and he had the crew back out that day to take care of it, then called me again to make sure all was well. These guys are the best. read more
