I have been a long time customer of Sam's Warehouse Liquor but will NEVER buy another thing from him again. We bought two bottles of wine the other night for a dinner party we were having. Tried to open the $40.00 bottle of Patz & Hall Chardonnay and the cork just crumbled-took 20 minutes to maneuver half of the cork out while the rest of the cork fell into the bottle. Poured a glass for our guest & myself, both glasses loaded with bits of cork, and we immediately looked at each other with a horrified expression!! The wine was so BAD, it tasted like old vinegar!! Took the bottle back to Sam's Warehouse liquor wanting to exchange for something else. The lady at the register went to the back to get Sam. She came back and said he was eating lunch and did not have time to talk with me. She said there are no refunds, returns, OR exchanges!! REALLY!! So I just wasted $40.00 on a BAD bottle of wine!! Sam's is usually where we go when we can't find daily wines we like to drink. If you like to shop at sprouts, like we do, this is a convenient location being right across the street from the grocery store. However, last few times we went out to pick up some "Dreaming Tree" Pinot noir our corner store didn't have it, our backup liquor store didn't have any either so we stopped in here at Sam's to pick some up. Nope. Didn't have any either. It was raining cats & dogs, we were out looking for wine in the worst rain storm in the history of mankind & when we pulled up to Sam's the lady behind the counter was just laughing & laughing bc my hubby ran inside getting completely soaking wet. I didn't think it was funny. And when my hubby came running back out without any "Dreaming Tree" bc they didn't have any, he didn't think that was funny either. No "Dreaming tree" pinto noir here folks. No good comparable Pinot noir's either. Just a lady that laughs & laughs at her empty handed customers getting rained on. We will continue drinking "dreaming tree" Pinot noir, and buying it by the case. From a liquor store who stocks it. A liquor store without any Pinot Noir? Yes, that's hilarious. Great selection of local beers to choose from- we were excited to see so many choices from our favorite local breweries. The staff was super knowledgeable and made some good suggestions, and even brought out a new sour that hadn't even made it to the shelf yet for us to buy. We will def be back! read more

Great place to shop! I found this gem when my mom was in Baptist hospital. I work in liquor sales (Missouri) and Sam's has it all! From the high end bourbons to S African wines.... Many different kinds and styles of beer both foreign and craft. And the staff is knowledgeable about their products.... Sam himself is true gentleman. I've been coming here for years as it's the closest liquor store to my house. The staff is always very nice, it's easy to find what you are looking for, and it has a convenient location right by 63rd and May. I've never really asked a lot of questions here - I think because I see this as a neighborhood store, and not a place to go to experiment with a new wine or scotch. Sam's Warehouse Liquor on 63rd & May always has a fantastic selection and great prices, as well as the willingness to order items they may not have. Excellent customer service, but today I experienced something above and beyond that. After buying some wine, my car wouldn't start. Sam himself offered to come jump the car and even clean the battery, but to no avail. My wife showed up and we took the battery to a nearby AutoZone to get the battery tested, finding out that the starter needed replacing. That part $uck$, but the fact that the owner offered his personal help when he didn't have to, put a bright spot on the situation. Thank you Sam! This little spot gets big points with me for being centrally located at 63rd and May, and for having a helpful and knowledgeable staff. I don't go here to stock up for a big party (that's Byron's territory) or to ask a sommelier questions about what wine to pair with delicious sea bass (Broadway) but if I'm just buying wine and beer or liquor for a weekend of hanging out around the house, this is the perfect spot. They do have a wide range of beers as Alicia B mentioned. My friend Holly works here, and she is always able to immediately locate what I'm looking for, and can usually tell me off the top of her head if they have a certain wine or not. A great place to stop for alcohol. Beer selection is great. They sell Rogue Beer! As well as Left Hand, Breckenridge, Sam Smith... and others. Just no Alaskan. (They had never heard of it!) Wine selection is huge, from types to regions. They had several Viogners to choose from, including one from Victor Hugo. Prices are great, too. $5.40 for a big Rogue beer. $10 - 26 for a Viogner. Staff is helpful, too. Maybe I had this "where in the...?" look on my face, but the guys working there were quick to ask me if I needed help finding anything. I took them up on their offer twice, since I had limited amount of time to shop and couldn't afford to get distracted by all the wonderful beer on the shelf... I walked out of there one happy woman. 1 Viogner and 3 big Hazelnut Brown Ales in hand... all for about $35! read more

Yes the parking sucks when it is busy, but if you notice it's moving and grooving.. just need a little patience when staring down that sweet elderly man taking up 2 spaces! I really like Sam's. I go here pretty often. The selection is respectable and the prices are decent. In general, you'll be able to find lots of good stuff here including craft beers and good whiskey. They might not cater as extensively to the specialist crowd in either category, but they still will probably have what you're looking for at a decent price most if the time. In fairness, I'm not much of a wine drinker but Sam's has a pretty extensive selection there. So there are some other places I go if I'm looking for something specific or rare that Sam's might not have, but I'd say Sam's is a solid go to for 90% of what I need. Overall, this is probably a good place to procure your adult beverages - if a liquor transaction is all you're looking for... Sadly though, for those that like craft beer, Sam's falls far short in the 'have knowledge and will share' department. The truth is, while they have a decent selection, don't expect any of the 'spirit' of craft beer, ie., knowledge , enthusiasm, recommendations, camaraderie, and friendliness to come through here... They don't 'get it'. Period. They could have had some knowledge, they could have told me a little about the local scene, and when I asked for a good IPA, they could have recommended anything but Sierra Nevada! Ha! But nope... They stock beer. That's it. And with a little more research I found a store within 2 blocks that had a resident expert and all the loveliness I needed... And 10x's more beer. Adios, Sam's... I always liked this liquor store but unfortunately some of the employees were not wearing masks during a global pandemic. I simply asked why they were not wearing masks and the response I got was profanity and yelling for me to get the hell out of the store. I was shocked at the rude reaction I got. I will never shop here again. I do not appreciate F------ words being yelled at me after I just completed a large purchase from their store. Avoid this store if at all possible. They do not appreciate your business and will yell profanity at you if you ask a simple question. read more

Great liquor store! They have a good assortment of wine and offer a 10% discount if you buy it by the case. The wine is more expensive than it was in NJ, but I think that's due to different state taxes etc. They also have a great assortment of liquors. We're whiskey drinkers and they have a HUGE whiskey section, divided by country of origin. I'm sure I'll be back in the near future. read more

2 convenient locations, great selection of beer, wine & liquor. We have a few things we use as a basis of comparison for prices- Honig Sauvignon Blanc and Sofia champagne- glancing at each, the prices are lower than our local suburbia liquor store and really on par with Byron's. We knew what we wanted so we didn't need any help, but I overheard an employee saying to another customer "call me if you get home and realize that wasn't what you needed." Definitely not something you get at other stores! This is a great one stop shop when you need to restock the bar/ wine cellar/ beer fridge. read more

Sam's Warehouse has been my go-to liquor store for the last several years. I've always taken the owner's recommendations, and have even purchased his recommendations when the store was out of what I was looking for instead of going elsewhere with a bigger selection. Today, while looking at wines, the owner asked me to leave the store after accusing me of checking other stores' prices on my phone. I had been looking at a list of "Best Pinot Noirs" on my phone (from a 2019 Food & Wine magazine article!), as I don't often drink them and hoped the list would help me narrow down my choices. This seems like fairly typical behavior in 2021. I understand that everyone has bad days, and that the last year and a half has been tough on everyone, especially small businesses. However, I left feeling humiliated after trusting the owner's judgment and supporting his business for 5-plus years. Unfortunately, I won't be visiting the store again. read more

Dusty, musty, and no parking. I suggest wild turkey on NW 122 and Rockwell. Cleanest liquor store I have been in and most friendly of staff. They have discount wine Tuesday on ALL their wines and prices are equal or not cheaper than SAMs. I have made the switch from garbage or this. Will you? Okay, so it's crowded. Really crowded. How do they manage to fit so much merchandise into such a small footprint? But the staff is friendly and knowledgeable (they know their merch),and the selection and prices are better than several larger competitors. Plus there are often close-outs on some good South African and South American wines. And if you shop there at all frequently, they'll tell you which of these specials to pick up and which to avoid. Fantastic beer selection! Saw all the usual CA, OR, and CO microbrews here, like Green Flash, Rogue, Grand Teton, AleSmith, etc (I might be off on the exact breweries, but it's that caliber of stuff), and tons of it! Some good midwestern breweries, too. My favorite part, however, were the OKC breweries. This is exactly what I was coming for, and Sam's did not disappoint. They had Coaches, Coop Ale Works, Battered Boar, Marshall and others. Prices were fine, about what I expected. Funny thing, is when I went to the front to pay, I told the cashier that they had a great beer selection, and she seemed completely shocked, like no one had ever mentioned it before. read more

I went here a few years ago and I was treated very poorly by the owner. I went in looking to treat myself to a nice bottle of bourbon. I didn't know which bottle to get so I was looking up reviews on my phone. The owner then approached me and demanded to see my phone, I was obviously confused. Then he accused me of working for another store to get prices from his store. I assured him that a I was doing no such thing. He then began to yell at me and told me to leave. I left and have never been back. I will never shop at this store again and I am very disappointed that I can't even look at my own personal phone while browsing the store. I feel like it was inappropriate and uncalled for. I felt like I was singled out for some reason. read more
