Rolls L to R: Volcano, Ceviche, Rambo, Abigail.

Tnis place is still untouchable. I had not been since they moved into American Eat Co., but it felt like I had just seen them yesterday. Always a pleasure to chat with Jesus and Gabby. They always make me feel at home, like I'm their primo. So welcoming! The rolls were amazing as always. I enjoyed the Rambo and Ceviche but I was so glad to have gotten the Abigail and Volcano. Two of my long time faves. I totally dig the vibe of their cute little inside corner, too.

Samurai Sombrero is that unexpected foodie heaven moment you didn't know you needed -- bold mural walls, neon sushi glow, industrial food hall energy -- and then boom... vegan sushi that absolutely puts it at the top for me. The rolls are fresh, beautifully plated, and not an afterthought (which matters). Creamy avocado, perfect rice texture, that clean soy dip -- it hits. It's tucked inside American Eat Co., so the whole space is buzzing, casual, unfiltered, and vibey in the best way. You can pull up for sushi, grab a drink, wander the hall, and make a whole night out of it. For plant-based sushi lovers especially? This spot is elite. Total vibe.

Shrimp tempura is amazing! It's a little chaotic inside with all of the different businesses but once you order your food you can sit anywhere you they will find you. We had a lobster popcorn roll and Sonora roll both were very delicious. Service was excellent.

    Best vegan sushi!

This place is a must go. Their vegan options are limited to a handful but they are top notch! Had the Famous Fried Avocado, Death Free Foodie, sweet potato, and the Mango Roll! All were scrumptious and delectable! They are super friendly! We drive an hour and a half to come. Its worth it!

Very friendly help and delicious food. I ordered Pancho Villa roll, sea weed salad, tempura shrimp, and egg rolls. Thought the egg rolls were generic, the rest was well presented and tasty. Reasonable prices and the group restaurant style was nice..

Really good sushi. Mexican twist to traditional sushi. Both rolls were yummy. The ponzu sauce is amazing and spicy (not shown in the picture)

    Vegan mango roll. Yum!

Located inside American Eat Co, Samurai Sombrero is a great option! They have 4 vegan rolls (as is, without modification). This is the best vegan sushi I've had in Tucson! Try the Death Free Foodie roll if you're looking for some crunch and spice. The mango roll was really good. So fresh and light. Will definitely be back.

This spot has some of the best sushi in Tucson, they always have. I have been supporting them since they were a truck at the Pit. The owners are the nicest people and the food even better. Had a Yelp event so had to grab some sushi while we were there.

Best sushi in town! Gabby and Chuy have created an incredible menu fusing sushi with Mexican sabores. For an extra treat, come on Sunday for a fabulous live mariachi experience. If you're from out of town, it's worth making a short trip south of downtown. You won't be sorry.

Picked this lunch date solely on the name. Wasn't disappointed. The gyoza were crispy and tasty. The singular plate allowed me to easily take extra pieces from my wife's roll.

This spot is kinda hidden in this food hall but its food stands out for sure! I had the popcorn lobster roll ... 10/10 completely blew my mind! I never had popcorn lobster let alone on a sushi roll! Service was amazing! I was stopping by on my way to the airport so I was short on time but they were sweet offering me plenty things and being wonderful host! The signs were descriptive and easy to read and the vibes were great! If I come back to AZ, this place will definitely be on my list of things to try again!!

Alaska roll, Cali roll, spicy tuna

Ordered 3 rolls in a not very busy evening. After 35 minutes, checked in: it will be out soon. After 50 minutes, checked in: I will be making it soon. Food did not arrive for over an hour. If you are that busy, you should let people know, especially the first time they check in. I get busy, but an hour is excessive under any circumstances. Just a heads up would go a long way. The sushi itself was fine. Nothing too unusual but not bad.

    Lobster Roll and egg rolls

I ate the egg rolls and the lobster roll both were delicious and the service was amazing. The cashier was super friendly and dry helpful with everything on the menu. I was there at noon on a Saturday and there was a line of 8 people already placing orders but they were very quick to take all of the orders and mine was out to me very quick as well. It's located in American Eats Co. on S. 4th Ave. and very easy to find and lots of parking.

It was delicious and came with miso to start and a side of rice. Dad and I got 2 bites of yellowtail sushi, rainbow roll, crunch roll and the kamikaze roll. Soooo good! Perfect fresh fish. The yellowtail was heavenly. Buttery soft and delicate. We loved every bite. Another review mentioned the sports/Japanese decor combo, and we actually enjoyed it while watching game 6 of the World Series. We seem to have a problem with forgetting to take pictures of our dishes, but I promise you will get delicious food here!

Judgment of the Ahi color when it first came out I was already skeptical. Honestly there's a lot better restaurants out there with fresher fish. The salmon was the only redeeming quality. Instead of giving more fish they give Sunomono (pickled cucumber) and Korean seaweed salad I only got one cup of water and tea. Wasn't asked for a refill. Miso Soup was the machine made one so it was a bit salty.

I opted for the #3 lunch special (3 pieces of sushi and a roll + miso soup) for $14. All reasonable, given that it's sushi, but I'll be honest, this still-growing-boy needed a bit more after that! The sushi itself was "ok" but the hand roll was terrific. Staff was attentive to all entrees and drinks (refilling my friend's diet coke 3 times!) and had zero problem with doing 4 separate checks too. Venue is simple and leans towards a subdued Asian-typical theme. Parking is easy and free in the shared strip-mall lot.

Feb 7 for two Hamachi Kamas ($16/each) and one Chirashi ($30) to go. These Kamas came with salad, miso soup, rice and half orange. Well salted and peppered to perfection. Chirashi was similar with abandon of fresh sashimis and rice. (see photos below) Their sushi boat ($59) is always a delightful feast for multiple people. Their servers are very friendly and attentive to all customers too. I highly recommend this restaurant to all sushi lovers. (Other Note: Ordered same dishes from Kazoku sushi on Feb 3rd because Sushi Cho was closed. Their Hamachi kamas were much smaller, charred, no garnishes and more expensive ($18). Their Chirashi ($35) sashimis are very fresh too, but not as much and not as many kinds as Sushi Cho.)
