Dr. Cheung is incredibly patient, enthusiastic and clearly passionate about teaching. He takes the time to meet my son where he is which has made a big difference in both his confidence and consistency. My son has made leaps and bounds since starting lessons with him and it's been really rewarding to watch that progress. My son has had a few injuries from BJJ and wrestling and Dr. Cheung worked with him to adapt lessons so he could continue practicing using one hand. That level of support and problem solving meant a lot. One thing I especially appreciate about MACSA is how many opportunities they offer beyond weekly lessons. There are regular performance opportunities and competitions, which give students a chance to grow, build confidence and apply what they're learning in a meaningful way. The pianos the students get to practice on are also beautiful which adds to the overall experience and makes it feel even more special. It feels like a place that truly supports both skill development and a genuine love for music. I'm really glad we found it.

A few months later, options to attend in person were available. We have done both, and can say the experience has NOT suffered at all. Classes are as fun and enjoyable no matter what your preference is. The Jensen family has worked hard to accommodate virtually by sending frequent updates, posting practice videos and homework videos as well as tips on how to position your device near the piano/keyboard at home to make it better for both teacher and student. Classes in person are well planned, and as you can see from the photos, very fun! The children loved dressing up for Halloween for classes and we appreciated it so much. There have been online music parties, a birthday celebration for Mrs. Lois!, family fun and games online, community involvement...so so much :-D We have also opted for private lessons, and are doing those online at home. The experience is very personal, and fosters so much creativity for our son. We truly love this family and thank them for working so hard to make music fun for our family.
