$60 a year without a discount for unlimited 29:59 (1/2 hour) bike rentals. Convenient locations throughout greater downtown. Feature rich for a mass transit commuter. Look forward to expansion south to cover a leisurely ride to all of the missions. I wish B-Cycle had extended weekend hours...until 3 am on Friday and Saturday nights? A great value even if you only use it five or six times a year. But you'll use it more than you think after you get in a habit. Student, senior and military discounts are substantial. I assume with all of the scooter competition that they are not investing in keeping up the bikes. In San Antonio they are going electric which is great. We also had to call the help center when we tried to dock the bikes and could not. The only plus is that the bikes can be taken on the bike /hike path while the scooters are prohibited.

Both bikes were fine, but the best part was the customer service from B-Cycle, now called Metrobike. Their staffers were so friendly and helpful-they legit showed interest in me as a customer and desire for me to be happy! Yay! Something that's sorely lacking right now. Plus, they had THE CLOSEST docking station to ACL (by a lot), at the corner of Sterzing and Barton Springs Road. Far closer than the mandatory scooter parking (geofencing prohibits you getting any closer-you have to take them to Toomey). I made that mistake Day 1 ACL. I will for sure use these bikes again. Happy to have them around central Austin. *The payment options are clearly stated on the app and the website. Not sure what others are bellyaching about. Each amount on the app has a drop-down with a VERY clear description of what you're buying. Jeez.

I would say come in take a look and walk out with something for your home or next project. You will also be help out such a cool nonprofit. Did you know Habitat sells homes too? I walked into there office lobby next door to the store and picked up an application for my brother.

This place is hard to rate. They have a couple of outlets - one on S Probandt, and one on Walzam…read moreRd. Probandt is an old warehouse and the goods are presented in a commensurate fashion, making it kind of a dump to go to. BUT it is very large and they have a lot of items. The Walzam Rd location is smaller, more store-like and a lot cleaner. Selection is similar but my impression is of smaller quantities and more limited selection. They both carry a wide range of construction and household materials, whether reclaimed from remodels or demolitions, or closeouts, seconds and scratch-and-dent. They also have a lot of paints, much of which is "evolve", a brand that keeps excess project or returned paint from being senselessly dumped in landfills. Prices are better than the building materials stores, but you still need to know what a good price is, as some of the smaller household goods can be found for less elsewhere (mainly online). But bargains are to be found if you don't mind spending time browsing. I suggest coming prepared with a complete list of what you might need, so you come away with what you really want at a price that suits you. All of that said, remember that this is a thrift store for Habitat for Humanity, a very good organization that makes affordable housing available for low income people. So anything you buy supports a great cause. I would have rated this 3-stars, but the nature of what their main focus is caused me to make it 4-stars since the dollars you spend here contributes to helping people in need.
