The San Antonio River Walk is a must see attraction when visiting. This walkway around the San Antonio River will take you to many shops and restaurants. There is also a lot of art that you will pass on your journey. This is a great place to spend your afternoon or evening and enjoy the peaceful nature scene that abides here. I wish that the sidewalks were wider so that it could accommodate more people walking in both directions. Fun fact: the River Walk is closed every January so that it can be emptied and cleaned.

I'm wondering why I've never reviewed the River Walk. I've been here several times over the years and though it's considered touristy, I still rather enjoy it. It's a sentimental location for me and I have fond memories of making the visit with my dad in my early 30s. Shops and restaurants line the tranquil water making for pleasant strolls year-round. Even in the height of tourist season, it's still easy to navigate and enjoyably get around and take in the sights. How fun it is to sit along the walk at a cafe table with lunch or a beverage and people watch.

Obviously not a business but a walk along the river the supports dozens of businesses. My husband and I must have passed at least five steakhouses. It was weirdly interesting and convenient to pass by a random CVS since I needed a phone charger. The sights are gorgeous, and the temperature on the river level was perfect, enhanced by a cool breeze. Restaurants, stores, and street vendors line the entire walk. Everything is Texas themed (makes sense since we're in the heart of San Antonio and one of the most famous river walks in the US). There is a lot of foot traffic, and you have to find paid parking either in a garage or down the street in one of the public lots. Be mindful that there are no barriers between you and the water. So if you're taking that selfie, try not to step too far back. I watched a mom snatch her little girl away from the edge as she went to toss a leaf into the water. The architecture and greenery are stunning. I could stare at the fountains and masonry work all day. It's a fun visit, and I would come yearly if I lived out here. It's still a great experience even sixteen years later.

The San Antonio River Walk isn't just a scenic walkway, it feels like the heartbeat of the city. From the moment you step down onto the path along the river, there's energy everywhere. Music floating through the air, people laughing, drinks clinking, boats slowly cruising by. It immediately pulls you in. I started with a casual walk and quickly realized this isn't a place you rush. The paths wind under bridges and shaded trees, with little pockets that make you want to stop, people watch, and take it all in. Yes, I did stop and start people watching to me should be an Olympic sport lol. The river boats passing through add to the charm. Watching them glide by while guides tell stories gives the whole place a timeless feel. As the sun started to set, the lights reflected off the water and the River Walk completely changed its mood, shifting from relaxed daytime stroll to vibrant nighttime energy. Food and drinks are everywhere, and eating by the water just hits different. Sitting on a patio with a cold drink, watching kayaks and boats pass, makes it easy to lose track of time. The service everywhere we stopped felt welcoming and genuine, like the city was happy to have you there. Yes, it gets busy, but that's part of what makes it special. This place is alive. By the end of the night, we stayed longer than planned, wandering, stopping in different spots, and still feeling like we barely scratched the surface. Whether you're visiting for the first time or coming back again, the River Walk is one of those places you just let happen. Walk slow, don't overplan it, and let San Antonio show you why this spot is so iconic.

It was my first time visiting the San Antonio River Walk and it was definitely must see on my trip! The River Walk itself seems long so I wasn't able to see it all in a short time, but I did enjoy what I did see! We went on a Wednesday afternoon, and it was still very busy and full of boat tours and people walking. I really loved the multitude of restaurants and even little bars nestled into the River Walk, and we did stop for ice cream along the way! The parking was a little difficult to navigate, and there were a few instances of trash and food randomly along the path which could be improved in the future. However, for a free experience, I am very glad I was able to visit and would like to see more of the River Walk in the future!

If your city has a river running through it, you likely have a riverwalk of some kind. In Boise, they call is the Greenbelt, some cities call it a greenway, and Chicago, Milwaukee, San Antonio and others call is the riverwalk. And, who doesn't love a good riverwalk? I've been on many cities river trails and can say without hesitation that the San Antonio River Walk is my favorite. It's lined with shops, restaurants, hotels, is completely picturesque and absolutely charming in every way. On our recent trip to San Antonio, we walked the River Walk on multiple occasions and also took the boat tour through the River Walk area. We enjoyed every second of it. For any trip to San Antonio, a visit to the River Walk is an absolutely must. Get to it!

I can't believe I never reviewed this experience. The river walk popped in my head this morning so I knew I needed to review. We happened to be here on Thanksgiving Day 2020. We were making our way back across the United States on an extended road trip we took for the entire month of November. We got lucky and our hotel was right on the river walk so we could access it directly from the hotel's first floor. When we first started walking, I couldn't believe how beautiful and picturesque it is. The weather was perfect so we just kept walking. The river walk is 15 miles long and it flows through 5 miles of downtown San Antonio. The best part of the river walk is it is a free attraction. There is plenty of shopping for all who wish to shop till they drop. A ton of restaurants serving up plenty of Tex Mex food and other types of food with dining right on the river. There is a boat ride tours and boat taxi's that will take you all along the river walk. Many bridges that span over the river for great photos to be taken. Lots of stairs that allow you to get back up to street level too. The walk features art, culture and history so there is something here for everyone. I was surprised at how many people were still out and about since Covid was going on, but people were just enjoying the holiday after being cooped up for so long. The river walk is well cared for and it's so fun to hang out. At night it is lit up and those that crave the nightclub scene can really have a great evening at many of the venues. Definitely worth a visit!

Informative boat tour that lasts 35 min. It's beautiful on a Sunday night with few visitors which is advantageous to us. I should come back during the day time.

River Walk was very beautiful! It's a Monday night and it was busy but not too full you couldn't walk. There are many restaurants and knick knack/gift shops to browse at. If you're looking for a cute walking area to kill time, this is it. Can be romantic, fun, a regular hangout ... Also nearby are other attractions (like the Alamo) so you can just walk around there as well.

The San Antonio River Walk is absolutely beautiful! The atmosphere is lively, relaxing and full of amazing restaurants, shops and scenic views. Walking along the river day or night was such a wonderful experience. A perfect place to visit with family or friends--highly recommend! This is my third trip to San Antonio, and it still remains one of my favourite places to visit.

So here's my pros and cons about walking on the river walk: Pros- trees, fish, nature, turtles, ducks, birds, the river has its own beauty. The boat parades are cool too. Cons- homeless people along the river, overgrown vegetation, city not keeping up with landscaping, not enough police presence in certain areas yet it's the most expensive and dangerous part of the city to be due to tourism, and some areas smell like garbage as if it's not being taken care of.

The businesses are very pricey and although the scenery was beautiful I wish I hadn't spent so much haha. The places that we were walking in were very well maintained and I was surprised homeless people weren't lurking around. I loved the variety of food, how comfortable the wildlife is and the beauty of the lights.

I had been to the River Walk many times usually with out of state visitors. There is really no natural wonders to see because the river is lined with with restaurants, gift shops, and hotels on both banks. The best thing is to see are the historical buildings built along the river. For me, it is a good side trip when taking visitors to The Alamo.

Our veterinarian had originally quote us almost $1,000 just for the spay, which seemed a little over the top for such a common procedure. I went online and found Spay Neuter Network which is a nonprofit that provides affordable spay/neuter services for dogs and cats. Making the appointment online was super easy and I originally only had to pay $20 to secure my dog's appointment. On the day of the appointment my husband dropped him off at 7am and by 3:00pm he was ready to go home. At the end, we did end up paying about $100 more for some additional vaccinations that our dog needed prior to the procedure. It's been a week since the surgery and my dog is feeling great and we haven't had any issues. I am so happy to have found Spay Neuter Network and will definitely recommend to all my friends and family!

We did the latter and found that whenever we had questions there were plenty of docents who could happily provide detailed answers. There is also, for a fee, a museum on site with many artifacts from that time period. Many items were donated by avid Alamo collectors including musician Phil Collins and David Zucker (director of Airplane! and Naked Gun). A new museum is being constructed as of the date of this review. A gift shop is on site too as well as many statues throughout the grounds honoring those involved in the battle. Probandt is an old warehouse and the goods are presented in a commensurate fashion, making it kind of a dump to go to. BUT it is very large and they have a lot of items. The Walzam Rd location is smaller, more store-like and a lot cleaner. Selection is similar but my impression is of smaller quantities and more limited selection. They both carry a wide range of construction and household materials, whether reclaimed from remodels or demolitions, or closeouts, seconds and scratch-and-dent. They also have a lot of paints, much of which is "evolve", a brand that keeps excess project or returned paint from being senselessly dumped in landfills. Prices are better than the building materials stores, but you still need to know what a good price is, as some of the smaller household goods can be found for less elsewhere (mainly online). But bargains are to be found if you don't mind spending time browsing. I suggest coming prepared with a complete list of what you might need, so you come away with what you really want at a price that suits you. All of that said, remember that this is a thrift store for Habitat for Humanity, a very good organization that makes affordable housing available for low income people. So anything you buy supports a great cause. I would have rated this 3-stars, but the nature of what their main focus is caused me to make it 4-stars since the dollars you spend here contributes to helping people in need.
